Its like when I had to be out of work for like two months because of an injury. So many coworkers were like youll get so bored, youll be wishing you were here.

Let me tell you, there was not one single second during that time where I was like gee, I sure wish I was at work right now instead of chilling and doing whatever I want. Being in pain sucked, of course, but aside from that, it was absolute bliss.

I genuinely feel bad for people who dont know how to entertain themselves or give their life purpose without work. Truly a sorry existence.

What's your work/life balance like? I like working for the social aspect of it but I also enjoy myself every day, even on days I work, either before or after a shift. Also I think a lot of people just like the feeling of getting shit done. Maybe it's depression or something else idk, but I always find myself laying around and doing nothing or just getting bored after a while of no work. That doesn't mean I want to be back at work while I'm on vacation but when I was in the hospital or furloughed during covid I did after a while.

Especially with 56 of them, that averages out to like 6.5 days each but you know some will be a couple weeks while others are 2 days

I don't know, I think I'd rather be attractive and lonely than ugly and lonely. The one pitfall I guess would be if you think you can rely so hard on your looks that you put off addressing the real problem, which in like 99% of cases is social skills

I like TC so I'm not trying to rain on his parade but attention without going further is kinda pointless. Sure it's a nice ego boost in the moment but it doesn't help with loneliness.

I mean, if attention is all you get why bother bringing that up? I get attention from women too but if it goes nowhere then it means nothing. If anything its worse than getting no attention because you don't get you hopes up for nothing.

Their live performance is amazing, they are probably the best show I've ever seen despite seeing bands I love more. It was also really chill for a rock concert, probably because everyone was tripping.

You'd think they'd want to be open when most people aren't working their 9-5 though. Instead they overlap with most people's work schedule which leads to less people going and thus getting less people giving them money/ using their services. Move those same 8 (or however many) hours into the evening and they'd make more.

On paper, sure, but it's no secret that the actual competition is between the Conservatives and the Liberals. Everyone else mostly just gets votes when the Liberals are in a comfortable enough position that losing the riding in question won't let the Conservatives win, and even that often doesn't amount to much because the NDP or Greens having a few seats doesn't translate into having enough power to actually enact any of their platforms (the PCC offered an option for the Conservatives to split their vote, but they failed to gain any meaningful traction and will probably do even worse in the next election because Polievre isn't as moderate as O'Toole was). Trust me, I'd love an NDP government (and, in fact, I've voted NDP in every federal election since I turned 18, though I've voted in historically-Liberal ridings that have stayed red), but it's not something that's going to happen under FPTP, and the platform of electoral reform that the Liberals ran in 2015 died within weeks of them getting into office and realizing that nobody was ever going to agree on how to change the system.

The problem isn't the mindset of "one or the other," it's that one party is popular enough to stand a real chance of winning and also has some horrible ideas for running the country that need to be stopped. That results in people gravitating toward whichever party stands the greatest chance of beating them (and in some cases, formally forming coalitions to prevent vote splitting). From the politicians' end, you stand a much higher chance of having your voice heard and being able to act on your ideals if you align with an existing party instead of splitting the vote. That's something inherent in the electoral system and how votes get counted: So long as whether or not a party wins is a binary matter, securing a partial victory for a different party will have no value.

How about we just get rid of parties altogether and let individuals run based on their own politics? You know, like Washington did. He spoke out against parties in his farewell address but no one listened.

It was alright, I liked the premise but it ended way too quick after the setup. It gave me Blair Witch Project vibes but not as well executed. It was worth the $6 but I wouldn't pay to see it again.

There are plenty of fan bases (like SW) that hates on everything besides the original series/movie/book
