I'm about half way through The WEIRDest People in the World: How the West Became Psychologically Peculiar and Particularly Prosperous

I haven't read anything new for a while. But I just reread An Edible History of Humanity and Prisoners of Geography, and reskimmed GURPS Alternate Earths 1 & 2.

I recently finished reading Killing the Witches - it's about the Salem witch trials and how the end result tied into the push for independence.

Currently doing Lightbringer, 6th book in the Redd Rising series.

Currently going through My Dark Vanessa. It's about a girl who gets infatuated with her high school teacher which turns into a full-blown affair. It has presented at least one interesting moral dilemma. When the book fast-forwards to the future, the girl is encouraged to speak out against this teacher, along with other girls the teacher supposedly hooked up with. But the MC's relationship with him was mutual and she never saw herself as a victim. Does that still make her obligated to speak out against the teacher?

The Hobbit. I've never read it before, or watched the movies.

Nearly finished with Crossroads of Twilight, tenth book in the Wheel of Time series. Definitely the worst one so far

I just finished Ignition!: An Informal History of Liquid Rocket Propellants by John Drury Clark.
Next I'll read Chip War: The Fight for the World's Most Critical Technology by Chris Miller. At least it should be good, I'll be fairly critical of the tech side of things.

The Conspiracy against the Human Race by Thomas Ligotti. Excellent book, but I would not recommend it to someone in a vulnerable state of mind.

I know, but I didn't want to. Gap Cycle so good. So so good. It's hard to put down once you're past a certain point. I can read it next October.
