Nintendo didn't, they just used the Japanese term that has been in use forever in an article about Dread and someone translated it. I don't think they ever used "search action" in English

Regardless of your alignment, you have already admitted you disappeared for day 2 because you'd be just as inactive day 2 as you were on day 1. That's called image preservation.

no, I'm saying my power costs a day phase, so using when I'm not going to be around any makes more sense than using it when I would be around (like today since it's the weekend and I don't have work)

You didn't participate much in day 1 to begin with.

The strength of what you're claiming is in it's surprise factor. If you're town, there is no reason to use it if you're not trying to be shot and don't expect to be shot.

again I ask

why would I not use it? What is the negative of using it as I did?

It really is, because "the first female x" in practice very commonly just equates to... A female protagonist. So by saying it's played out, you're, in effect, saying female protagonists are played out.

I mean, look at the context you used it in: In response to somebody saying they hope GTA6 has a female protagonist. What else could you possibly mean in that context?

Not really. Like Aloy in HZD isn't the first female x, she's just a female protagonist. Since GTA has been around for awhile it's a little different. At least, I think that's what he means

VVVVVV didn't remotely reach the height of the most popular indie games. If you're going to use edge cases, sure, there will always be some. The dominating trend for retro is SNES style.

'Older graphics' is a fallacy to use because SNES graphics have overall aged much better than PS2 era. That's something that most people would agree with. A game like Chrono Trigger certainly looks better than Legends does!

I was under the impression VVVVV was pretty popular, but if not that's my bad

Also, your age is showing. I would agree SNES era has aged better than the N64/PS1 era, but not PS2. Vanilla FFX looks way better than any SNES game, and Legends looks a lot better than that. I mean, it comes down to preference in the end but I think most people who didn't grow up with the SNES would disagree with you (and even a lot that did like me). Not that there's anything wrong with liking that style, but saying Chrono Trigger looks better than Legends is far from the objective statement you're stating it as

What indie games have NES graphics? SNES graphics have been the trend for years, and those do actually look good.

VVVVV, which is old but still further from the NES era than we are from GC now (both in terms of time and evolution of graphics)

and yeah, my point is that people like older graphics, so saying it looks like a "GameCube game" or whatever doesn't really hold that much water. There are other valid complaints about the graphics though

I have the ability to leave the game at night (think commuter) but it costs me a day phase. It's called catnap. Oh and I'm Y'shtola (coincidentally one of the only XIV characters I've heard of thanks to smfffc)
