It really is, because "the first female x" in practice very commonly just equates to... A female protagonist. So by saying it's played out, you're, in effect, saying female protagonists are played out.

I mean, look at the context you used it in: In response to somebody saying they hope GTA6 has a female protagonist. What else could you possibly mean in that context?

Graphics have always been important for open-world games, and Arceus is so far below the standard that it's a legitimate issue.

People have to hold developers to some kind of fucking standard. One day they're going to slack on something you actually care about and suddenly you're going to care.

VVVVVV didn't remotely reach the height of the most popular indie games. If you're going to use edge cases, sure, there will always be some. The dominating trend for retro is SNES style.

'Older graphics' is a fallacy to use because SNES graphics have overall aged much better than PS2 era. That's something that most people would agree with. A game like Chrono Trigger certainly looks better than Legends does!

Finally someone other than me calling out Indie games for getting free passes from fanbase and reviewers just because they are made on a low budget by a small team. It feels as if everyone looks at you like you've kicked a puppy when you say anything negative about an indie game.

What indie games have NES graphics? SNES graphics have been the trend for years, and those do actually look good.

It's not hyperbole at all, plenty of GC games look better than this run through an emulator. I guess if you don't count that and are comparing to raw 480 then sure.

I'm willing to guess there's only two scum and one SK still floating around

I've really kinda fallen out of love with the series. I barely played S/M, and skipped ORAS, USUM, SWSH, and BDSP entirely. Am I gonna be super fucking lost if I try to play this, or is it just gonna be a matter or not knowing all the Pokemon? I did play New Snap and there were a lot of Pokemon I didn't recognize but it didn't hinder my enjoyment too much.

I don't follow American football but wasn't there a whole thing years ago where he was caught cheating deflating balls or something? I'm surprised that didn't gut his 'GOAT' reputation or hit his career harder. Maybe it's just commonplace in the sport I guess.
