If I had to rank the big three press conferences, I'd go with Microsoft > Nintendo > Sony. As I gave the same grade to both Nintendo and Sony, the tiebreaker was the fact that I have a Switch and could get any of these upcoming games where as I don't have a PS4 yet.

They would never say that a classic mainline game is in development and then proceed to scrap all development on that game if the Let's Go games actually sells very well. That just doesn't make any sense for a developer to do here.

A traditional mainline game is confirmed to be in development and will released in 2019. That will be the Gen 8 game that will stick to the formula that we're used to for the previous generations. Meaning, no Pokemon Go style catching system as seen in the Let's Go games.

I went through the list of voters that tennis posted and noticed that Chatot was heavily favored among voters who had not previously voted in the contest prior to the final. It's difficult to say why this was very one-sided among these first time voters. It could have been anti-Gen 7 voting. Maybe it wasn't anti-Gen 7 voting for most of these first time voters and they voted for Chatot because it was the underdog.

Lycanroc only got 2 votes from users who didn't vote in the contest before the final.

I was gonna participate, but the number of Pokemon made it feel too exhausting. What a terrible finale though. Most of the top 10 isnt even too great either.

Despite the large number of Pokemon in the contest, we actually plowed through the crap very quickly. The first round of the contest eliminated 57 Pokemon alone, and then we had 50 eliminations per day until we got down to 400 Pokemon remaining. This was only about a 4 month contest, a similar length to contests like SMFFFC. The previous Save My Pokemon back in 2015/2016 ran for about 7 months, for comparison purposes to this contest.

I wish you had participated since you like Gardevoir. Still, we were able to get Gardevoir into the Top 100 without your help.

The thing with this result is that I'm not sure if people were voting for Chatot because it was the underdog here, or because they wanted to prevent the most recent generation from winning the final. If there was anti-Gen 7 voting taking place here, this would suggest that Flareon would have taken out Lycanroc if it had reached the final. Vote totals would probably have been even higher with a Gen 1 option in the final.

Still, this final getting only 54 votes is a disappointment when the previous Save My Pokemon had 85 votes for the final (although there was a Gen 1 option there).

I didn't like the intermission format they were using here. Also, Sony's Twitch channel died during the press conference, so I had to switch over to the main Twitch channel (or Youtube) to continue watching it.

Unless youre a colossal Smash Bros fan their presentation was pretty terrible because Smash was 90% of it. Im excited about another FE, but they didnt really tell us much about it. Sony and Microsoft had way more I cared about and you could basically play all of the Microsoft stuff on non-Xbox devices. I thought MS would be the worst of the 3 this year by a mile, but their presentation was great.

This was a smash bros conference with fluff. It was like if Sony last night had been TLOU2, then that interview section from between venues, but then ended. Except in reverse.

Yes, I know a lot of the press conference was focused on Smash, but I know how much the site loves Smash that I thought it would have rated this press conference even higher than the poll results suggest.

Last year, the "A" and "B" options had a combined percentage of 69.70%. In today's poll, these 2 options are combining for only 53.06%.

My guesses:

Decidueye
Pyra
Ice Climbers

I figured there probably has to be at least one Gen 7 Pokemon added, and Decidueye makes the most sense. Incineroar and Mimikyu are the only other Gen 7 Pokemon with any possible chance of getting added to the game.

There should be at least one new character added if this is going to be a port of Smash 4, in order to provide an incentive to buy this game for those that already have Smash 4 on 3DS and Wii U.

Although fairly unlikely, there could also be some 3DS games shown during the press conference. Any 3DS games that are shown will take up a very small segment (less than 3 minutes at best) in the press conference. Switch games will clearly be the major focus here.

Treehouse Live starts immediately after the press conference has finished. Day 2 and Day 3 of Treehouse Live starts at the same time during the next 2 days of E3. Although technically a Nintendo Direct, I called it a press conference in the topic title since saying "Nintendo's Nintendo Direct" seems really awkward. I wanted to squeeze "+ Treehouse Live" into the topic title, but was denied due to topic restrictions. This topic may also be used to discuss Treehouse Live. Time for one more press conference to get hyped for.
