Guys! Aren't we going to hold the traditional Kill My Pokemon after this? Heliolisk won last time iirc. I would gladly do it, but I don't have the time nor skills to run it. Is someone up to the task?

I actually remember that after the previous Save My Pokemon. Last time, it was Lolo_Guru that ran Kill My Pokemon (it takes 1 vote to eliminate a Pokemon).

Speech time! In case you were wondering, folks, yes! Chatot is indeed one of my favorite Pokemon. Top 5, in fact. I love the little guy. I see a lot of you don't like him, but oh well. It's ok to be wrong sometimes.

Anyways, it certainly took a village to pull this crazy ass upset off. I would like to thank the following people:

Paul: Duh. This was a Bear Bro victory. I'm pretty shocked Licky dropped because I foresaw him being here on the throne instead of Chatot. But even still, thanks for sticking with me to the end. I think we're both pretty burned out on save mys at this point, but this one ended up being great.

Poka: You were a huge help with Licky and an even bigger help keeping Chatot alive. Thank you for sticking around after Licky dropped. You totally didn't have to and I truly appreciate it.

Dragon: It's a shame Swamp got punted before top ten. You did really well with him and I was hoping we'd all get there together, but alas. That was so cool of you to help us with Licky and Chat after the fact. Thank you!

Inviso: It was lovely working with you! Our trade was very helpful throughout this contest.

Starting top 30, Lycanroc was the first Pokemon to safety 13/29 rounds. I kept track.

Chatot was the first safe once (the top 5 round).

Interesting results. For once a Save My has surprising results. Overall I liked the contest.

I've wrestled a bit with how I feel about the RSE starters.

I basically think they're all really good and about equal to each other. But none of them are all-time material. They're lower top 10, better than most but not at Zard/Ape sort of level

Probably Blaze > Swamp > Scept for me. Admittedly none of the starter groups wowed me much except Gens 1, 4, and 7 though. Each generation has ones I like, but in those three generations I liked all three starter groups.

Gens 1 and 5 have the best starter forms

Gen 4 has the best fully evolved. Both Empoleon and Infernape are so good

Gen IV is the only one where all three fully evolved starters are great.

Gen I only has Blastoise.
Gen II only has Feraligatr.
Gen III has none.
Gen V... I like Emboar and Samurott okay, but I'm not sure I'd call either of them great.
Gen VI has Chesnaught and Greninja.
Gen VII has Decidueye and Incineroar.

Oh yeah, I actually tracked the number of unique users (ignoring alts from users who voted on 2 or more accounts) who voted in each round starting with the Top 10. I thought we might see an increase in participation during the Top 10, but any increase in participation was extremely small. The participation levels during the Top 10 were still slightly higher compared to the early rounds (30-35 users).

Participation during the Top 10 rounds:

10 - 38
9 - 41
8 - 40
7 - 43
6 - 47
5 - 39
4 - 36
3 - 35
2 - 54

With the exception of the final, we were still occasionally failing to break 40 users per round. Participation was reduced as we got closer to the final, probably because the rounds were much shorter (the Top 3 round didn't make it to a third hour) and there was less time for users to show up to the round.

The previous Save My Pokemon was regularly getting 40 users per round for pretty much the entire contest, while the Top 100 rounds in the previous contest were regularly getting over 50 users per round. So it was very disappointing that this contest didn't generate the same level of participation compared to the previous one. Although the previous Save My Pokemon contest was currently in progress during the 2015 Games Contest and we know that Undertale's contest winning run increased traffic to Board 8 significantly, and this probably affected the ongoing Save My Pokemon contest at the time.

I voted Chatot because of Pokemon mystery dungeon. Also, I really don't like Lycenroc. It wasn't anti gen 7 though, I love the Primarina line and Mimikyu.

Mystery Dungeon Chatot is fantastic yeah. His design in general is really good too. Also has one of the best in game cries.
