All I really remember from 2 was Lucia's wasted potential, ugly Diesel re-skins, and the nagging feeling that either the environments were too big, like more suited to Drakengard mousou fighting, or there weren't enough enemies given that every fight seemed to take place in what amounted to a football field with 6 mobs in it.

At least Nero's arm grab thing would have been better for closing distance than spamming guns until you could thrust-stab into a weak fight.

I don't often mix up 3 and 4 but the finer points of 2 are admittedly foggy since most of what I remember of Dante in 2 is him trying to be an odd mashup of Goro Majima and a pimped out Heihatchi. I remember a perverse game of tag with Lady and her rocket launcher in a library, but at this point I can't remember which game that actually was...

You're playing the original yeah? Don't play 2, you'll be very disappointed.

It's almost a shame Lucia has been all but memory-holed. The character had promise, but Lady was the only one that made it out of that mess in future installments.

Her disc was painfully easy though since all you had to do was level up to her 3/4 tier knife and never touch the ground for more than 2 seconds like literally anywhere. You could pretty much stay in the air tossing machetes like shiruken and almost never take damage.

But yeah, dmc2 is definitely the black sheep of the franchise.

I took the brunt of a lot of the "old" jokes over a decade ago, yet me and PO are like 2 months apart. And we're far from the older posters here. Off the top of my head I can probably name 5 posters that are older. A few far older. I know for a fact there's at least one octagenerian that posts here semi-frequently.

What's the standard for "racist depictions" now though? Boston schools are literally phasing out the advanced programs because there were too many white and asian kids in them. Literally dumbing down an entire generation so we can "be less certain". So here, asians are clearly considered "white" now.

Meanwhile, there were two other "axis powers", "germans and italians".

Punching Nazis, and screaming about fascism is all the rage these days, yet those powers were also "white".

Seems to me this comparing everything to WW2 has totally jumped the shark, and we're left with a bunch of progressive lunatics looking for the next thing they can impose "progress" on without fuck all in terms of consistency or critical thought.

Honestly, without a scope measuring the actual wavelength of the reflected light, we're probably not seeing the exact same color due to mi or differences in the formation of our eyes and the entire optic nerve and the brain centers responsible for processing all of that...upside down and backwards.

I've always thought it was fascinating that sight is the only sense that bypasses the spine and the brain stem entirely for direct input to the brain, whereas all the others have to go thru a middleman in the reptile side of the brain.

I'm glad I don't have friends that would dose me with psychedelics because I'm not sure how I'd react to that lol.

I mean, if it were 9pm on a Wednesday night and I had work in the morning, I'd have caved his skull in for doing it, but it was Friday night, we were at a roaring party, surrounded by the "tribe" with live funk music, and I didn't have anywhere to be until Monday morning. It was all good. Not the first or last time friends dosed me for shits and giggles either, but my inner circle then weren't total assholes either. It wasn't a game played lightly, it was more of a special occasion thing. Concerts, campouts, woodsies, that sort of thing.

We weren't roofie-ing chicks at bars or anything, but if there was a 3 day weekend, there was a real chance one of the guys was getting dosed for the lulz.

It sounds so fucked up when I come to say it to outsiders, but really, good times were had by all and I wouldn't give up my road tripping days for anything, looking back. I had a really good tribe back then.

It was the cocaine and heroin that really ruined some of my closest people.

I've had access to 2CT in the past (I went to UC Santa Cruz and the on campus trailer park is full of renegade chemists lol, also at a couple raves), but the times I could have done it were shortly after I tried 25i which was the most horrific psychedelic experience I've ever had. One of those ones where you get a genuine peak into psychosis. I was very turned off to any research chemicals and psychedelics outside the established classics after that, and I really didn't know much about it at the time. I've since read and heard enough about 2CT (and 2CB) that I'd be comfortable trying, but it hasn't come my way again.

Only true out of body experience I've had was smoking DMT at the peak of an acid trip. Every other blast off or break through was a closed eye reality, but if I opened my eyes I could make out my actual (albeit slightly distorted) surroundings. But the acid + DMT truly sent me out there into something else and when I came back down, entered my body, and looked it at my hand it looked exactly like an Alex Grey painting for a moment.

Ayahuasca and cactus are two I've never tried either, but while I'm living in the desert it'd be cool to find some San Pedro. I'm not actively seeking anything out at the moment, but sometimes they seem to find their way to me.

Fair enough. If anything, I'd say the worst part about the 2CT-37 was the total lack of body rush. It was very...heady. No tingly physical feeling that I'm in a psychoactive headspace to remind me from time to time that I am not, in fact a gecko, and shouldn't try to climb walls. Ended up doing some...minor drywall repairs the next day.

Had no intention of actually taking it that night when our resident renegade chemist showed up with a gallon of the stuff and a lab report an inch thick on the stuff, but a very close friend of mine thought it would be hilarious to dose me that night and I wasn't thinking when he gave me that stick of gum, lol. Needless to say, he was my gopher the next day when we had to do some repairs...

I hadn't yet developed my reputation for being very fun to trip with. OUTDOORS. With the exception of moderate levels of psylocybin, I'm sort of a wrecking ball indoors. I seem to have an 800lb shadow that comes out to play from time to time when my third eye gets pried open.

Deep Banana Blackout album release party at a friend's apartment like 20 years ago, lol. It was cool. Gives me yet another funny "Billy Braski" story for my strange life.

Yeah, salvia is definitely my least favorite of those I mentioned. It definitely doesn't hit me as hard as I've seen it hit others, but I definitely get more than a strong whipit feel. It always gives me this really uncomfortable body high where it feels like my skin is trying to crawl inside out of itself.

This is a longshot unless you know a renegade chemist, but have you tried any of the 2CT family? Long story short, yada yada, 2CT-37 is the only thing I've ever been dosed on that genuinely took me out of my body and put me in something else. I thought I was a gecko for the night.

LSD, Shrooms...never been completely out of body on them. Love liberty caps. Really love Blue Stunt legs, because they're so rare on the east coast because they only grow in the PNW and have to be brought east.

Microdosing for a day, megadosing for a day...never totally out of body or truly what I'd call hallucinating. Geometry was interesting AF. Reality was definitely plastic to the point where I could poke the membrane and see ripples if that makes any sense, but the only totally alien out of body experience I've ever had was on the 2CT voyage.

Granted, I've never had a shot at ayahuasca or cactus, but I also don't exactly have that kind of time to invest in psychomancy these days...

Been on a yakuza kick lately. Played zero, Kiwami 1, Like a Dragon, and I'm on Kiwami 2 now. I play on normal until I have all the skills and the non-obnoxious sidequests start drying up. Then knock it into easy just to finish the story once I have most of the skills and all the money. No point in making the health bars that much longer just to slow progression down.
