Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Lucifer the Morningstar? Its not a story the Catholics would tell you. Its a Jewish legend. Lucifer was an Angel of the Choir so powerful and so wise he was the right hand of Yahweh. He had such a knowledge of Creation, he could even keep the ones he cared about from ignorance. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his Pride, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught Adam everything he knew, then his Creator created Hell for him when he rebelled. Ironic. He could save others from Hell, but not himself.


on a serious note, kind of...does anyone know why Lucifer is called the Morningstar?

Pride. you see, Lucifer's Sin was pride 100%. here, the Choir was created from the light of Creation itself. then Yahweh ordered the Choir to serve Man, a base creature made from dirt. Lucifer was unhappy with this idea, and convinced 1/3 of the Choir to join with him in his Rebellion. of course, this ended badly as the Fallen were cast into the newly-formed Hell for all of eternity for their insolence.

that being said, Venus--Venus is the Morningstar. it rises in the morning to be the brightest thing in the sky before the Sun rises. it has the audacity and foolish pride to try and upstage the Sun. this is also why divine beings are depicted with halos to this day.
