I have had a pretty crappy life in terms of a magnitude of bad experiences.

I didn't have friends growing up since I was the only white kid in a poor Hispanic area, many fights and the few friends I did manage to get were situational in the terms that as soon as someone better was there, they were gone.

Highschool was better, was apart of THE couple at my school, the one were even the teachers talked about us, she cheated on me a year outside of highschool.

Shortly after that, I lost all my blood family, first my grandmother, due to lung cancer. then my mom, due to diabetes complications. Then my great aunt, lung cancer.

Had to move to another city with my great aunts husband due to circumstances. Was able to get a great job and my own place, but lost all my friends I had in my home city. Dated a lot of women though so that was nice.

Met one woman, she had PTSD from events that happened in the navy, she was mentally and verbally abusive. I was the typical "why did you stay person" we got pregnant, those hormones made it so much worse and she aborted the kid and came back a few months later for one final bout of sex then gone.

Got diabetes and almost died due to DKA was in the ICU for 4 days.

Got testicle cancer, which some of you know. Had it removed so I am One Ball Hypnox.

At the job we got a new VP in my organization and for the life of himself he couldn't figure out how I was making 6 figures and blamed me for it like it wasn't the company who was always boosting my salary. So he cut me down about 30%. Only to fire me a year and a half latter for BS(unknown reasons) while everyone else higher up was angry and had no idea why I was let go.

Found a new job which is nice but pays less than I was making so having to adjust to a lifestyle change.

Bedroom flooded in the Texas winter event due to FOUR pipes bursting even though i dripped my pipes and everything.

I am just tired of life.

Therapy might help. Also some good meds.

It'll be okay, hypnox. Don't dwell on these things. Take what lessons you can and move on. What's important to you now? What do you want out of life? How are you going to get there?

Sorry to hear that. :( I second the suggestion for seeking therapy.

That's a lot of traumatic things. Have you seen a therapist?

That all sounds extremely terrible, but I respect your ability to keep on powering through each ordeal. You definitely wanna talk to a professional and lay out your symptoms to see if it's PTSD or anxiety or whatever. The catch is you gotta find who works for you. Think about the type of person you mesh with best and basically gave the place a rough idea of what you think you need. It really will make all the difference.

I did see someone in the past, but all she wanted to do was give me drugs, like the hard stuff and she didn't offer much in the way of discussion. More the type where I talked and she just sat there taking notes. So that left a bad taste with me.

Thankfully I have a Fiance... the problem however is she is teaching English in Thailand. She has taught many places and was due to be state side with a teaching visa this past January but covid happened and she lost the visa and working on getting it again. So that's fun, but hopefully it's sooner than later.

psychiatrists can be like that sometimes unfortunately, but they can normally refer you to a good therapist or counselor who might be a better listener

You've already been suggested therapy and psychiatry, which I'm sure you've considered to some degree or another. If you're open to it, it might be worth looking into MDMA therapy if you get diagnosed with PTSD and it's available in your area. There have been a lot of positive studies coming out in the last few years exemplifying its benefits. One of my sisters was recently diagnosed with PTSD and has been pursuing it.

Yeah that sounds like a psychiatrist. Seeing a therapist should be a much different experience.

I'm hoping things open up again soon too. I want to travel this year and I won't really get that chance with things how they are. Kinda cool that your fiance gets to experience teaching in a different country.

Do you have any pets? If nothing else helps Ive heard that some people are able to start healing from trauma by befriending and caring for a house pet

Make an appointment for a psychologist and dont hold back. Despite their limited time you will be surprised how much it actually helps to talk to someone about all your problems and suggest possible happier solutions that help you cope with all your problems.

When I mean with dont hold back, tell them exactly how you feel. Everything, starting from when you were born, as long as you are not making threats to kill someone you should have no problem but its a weight off your back especially knowing and feeling you are not the only one.

If you dont know how to reach to a psychologist, just make an appointment with your primary care physician and they can refer you to them.

ultimately they can help you discover programs that get you animals to help you cope or just different programs like group therapy sessions with people that are feeling and literally going on with the same thing, you will be surprised how alone you feel at the moment but you are not the only one.

It's so rough having a mediocre or bad experience with a counselor or therapist. Just know that it feels awesome once you find one you gel with.

Also you are like Tom Green, one testicle. He's one of my faves. You've been through a lot, what a rock star.

That pet suggestion is a good one. Pets make me feel so happy.
