This does make me curious. Do Saudi Arabians identify themselves as Asian? Do Indians? I do not know anyone from SA, but all the Indians I know never refer to themselves as Asian. I understand the Geography argument as factual, although I don't think a Brazilian, for example, would ever call themselves an American, even though they technically are.

Honestly, Im having a hard time taking people seriously if they use words like Gestapo, concentration camp or Holocaust. Those words do not apply to the vast majority of worldwide law enforcement and immigration procedures, let alone what the US does, as flawed as it might be. Dont equate it to Nazi Germany. I don't really have a problem with Crooks' views. His timing is just shit. Totalbiscuit didn't appreciate his games, so Crooks' frustration and anger is somewhat understandable. He should have resolved it when Totalbiscuit was still around to defend himself. Publicly blasting him when he's gone and going as far as celebrating the death is a terrible look.

I think he is asking why did Killmonger's father work with klaw to steal vibranium in the flash back

Oh, my bad.

I thought it was pretty obvious; he felt that he was shafted for not getting to be Black Panther and wanted to become powerful some other way. That sense of entitlement was pretty explicitly part of Killmonger's character, and even in his trip scene they sort of hint that it came from his dad.

I think Killmonger's father was mainly interested in arming non-Wakandan black communities, so they could revolt successfully. This was the same basic goal that Killmonger also advocated. I don't remember Killmonger's father ever mentioning a desire to be Black Panther, but I guess he could have wanted that.

TChalla absolutely was hesitant. If you go back, youll notice there was a moment (its around 35 seconds into their fight) where he gets the upper hand and is standing with his spear over Killmonger. TChalla yells, yield, but Killmonger doesnt and just rolls away (exposing his back!) and gets up to resume the fight. Thats at least two clear moments when TChalla could have stabbed his opponent to death.

That link covers dozens of different countries. Here is an excerpt from the relevant USA portion:

Enforcement of laws regarding hate speech in the USA can interfere with constitutional rights to freedom of speech. While widely debated, there are several categories of speech that are unprotected by the First Amendment. However, hate speech is not expressly stated as one of those categories.[87] Court rulings often must be reexamined to ensure the U.S. Constitution is being upheld in the ruling on whether or not the words count as a violation.[88]

I would very much like to see how this case is resolved. The state might be able to pin hate speech on the male passenger, if they can prove he was harassing her. Im not sure what the context was of their verbal exchange.

But hey, I'm a dork because I want a game about the worst 6 years in human history, the plight and adversity of which none of us could comprehend, treated with a bit of dignity instead of cyborg-arm super soldiers--This coming from a franchise that used to try to distinguish itself from the norm with a little investment in realism.

op said nothing about learning how to think like other people or obtaining a moral system to work upon, he asked if it was compelling and well-written.

But he did not just ask that. He titled this thread as Is it worth reading the Bible for someone who isnt religious? He also mentions that he isnt sure why he would want to read it. It came across, to me anyway, that OP is asking for a value judgment. Even if he wasnt concerned at all about my answer (I can accept that possibility), the Bible could still be compelling because Western culture has all kinds of references to specific verses, chapters and stories in the Bible that have been woven into art, movies, books and so on. How can you fully understand those materials if you havent been exposed to the source material that provides context?

Heres a clip from Pulp Fiction. Without understanding the source material, Jules quote just sounds like something cool (the character later admits this) and it doesnt shed light on his character arc.

Youre right. Old peoples views are not irreversible, though I try to keep things in perspective. Imagine, for example, that youre 70 and youve been satisfied with how society progressed in your lifetime. But one day, your grandkids come to you and start demanding that you accept that women will no longer be allowed to vote and that they never should have in the first place. (It could be Asians, brown-eyed people, tall people or whatever group you have empathy for.) Presumably, youd fight against what your grandkids are promoting and when the debate gets heated, you call them immoral or worse. Your grandkids tell you youre just a piece of shit old person who is living in the past. Worse, you find out that your neighbors, friends and coworkers agree with your grandkids and the politicians are saying your views are garbage. By that point, you might think it would be better to just accept the new progressive way of thinking, but you just cant help yourself from criticizing this new Generation Question Mark whenever the holidays come around.

I think a lot of old people find themselves in that predicament and its probably always like that for every generation.
