LeonhartFour 08/20/21 11:24:28 PM #242 | Ah, the cryptic words of van Zieks at the end about his former Japanese friend make a lot more sense this time around! Whew, nearly done with this case at last! I actually really liked Graydon as a culprit. He's slippery enough that it's satisfying to finally catch him, and then he manages to be pretty sympathetic afterwards. --- |

LeonhartFour 08/20/21 5:35:18 PM #239 | you know, it's crazy how obviously sketchy Gregson acts throughout the entire trial it makes more sense in hindsight but he can't even hide his own conflicts of interest here --- |
Topic | Leonhart Plays The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Spoilers) |
LeonhartFour 08/20/21 5:26:54 PM #237 | yeah I'm honestly good with no juries in the main series I think it's fine as a gimmick in GAA (although I have problems with it; the idea of the jury being able to randomly interject and vote guilty is pretty dumb) but it doesn't need to be a mainstay --- |
Topic | Leonhart Plays The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Spoilers) |
LeonhartFour 08/20/21 5:03:17 PM #235 | well I imagine at least one of them will be in AA7 regardless of which direction the series takes --- |

LeonhartFour 08/20/21 4:56:17 PM #233 | Yeah, they're still unaware of it. Maybe in AA7! --- |
Topic | Leonhart Plays The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Spoilers) |
LeonhartFour 08/20/21 4:45:24 PM #231 | Well, it may have brought things even lower. That's assuming the news of a "rigged" jury even got out to the public, but based on how juries work in this series, "conflict of interest" doesn't seem to be a factor in these things anyway! --- |
Topic | Leonhart Plays The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Spoilers) |
LeonhartFour 08/20/21 4:24:28 PM #229 | I'm not sure of the significance of the name Ashley Graydon (maybe "Ash Gray," as opposed to his sterling white appearance), but his original last name, Milverton, comes from a Holmes story called "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton." I'd classify it as a high tier Holmes story, for the record. I suppose the irony here is that Charles Augustus Milverton was a blackmailer, and in this case, Graydon's father was the victim of a blackmailer in Magnus McGilded. maybe I should do a Holmes story ranking after I finish this case in the event anyone is actually interested in picking up Holmes after playing the games --- |

Topic | Leonhart Plays The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Spoilers) |
LeonhartFour 08/19/21 5:35:56 PM #211 | I like that Graydon's "transformation" is merely removing his hat and throwing it at Ryunosuke. The series kinda got carried away with transformations the last couple of games, so it's nice of them to scale it back a bit. Not every villain needs a big reveal! --- |
Topic | Leonhart Plays The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Spoilers) |
LeonhartFour 08/19/21 5:14:13 PM #210 | I wonder if I should list him as Ashley Graydon or Eggert Benedict in the line tally for the sake of spoilers ...in fact, the line counts will wind up being spoilers themselves once we include GAA2 in them --- |

LeonhartFour 08/18/21 5:51:27 PM #197 | "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains...must be the truth." A quote many AA fans first heard from Godot that actually comes from Sherlock Holmes, as Iris points out, so that's a nice reference. --- |

LeonhartFour 08/17/21 11:15:26 PM #196 | I said I could see it because I thought I knew what the difference was (there's an obvious difference between the two pictures that they didn't even point out!), and the game just continued as normal, which was fine by me! LeonhartFour 08/17/21 6:36:26 PM #190 | so Garrideb says he took a bullet to the knee in the Battle of Maiwand in 1880 (I suppose it's kinda scarily fitting that he's referring to a battle from the Second Anglo-Afghan War) so that means the game can't take place before then --- |

LeonhartFour 08/17/21 6:19:46 PM #189 | it's kind of annoying to have to redo a section because a press leads to an evidence present and you can't just intentionally present the wrong evidence to get back to the testimony at least this game has a scene select option to get me somewhat close to the right spot --- |

LeonhartFour 08/17/21 5:34:55 PM #188 | The Skulkin brothers are great, and they feel like obvious parodies of Mario and Luigi. I guess Gregson would be Wario, and Benedict would be...Waluigi...? --- |

LeonhartFour 08/17/21 4:55:57 PM #186 | man I had totally forgotten that deaf grandpa juror from case 4 is actually deaf surgeon and I'm wondering if he left something inside Holmes after the operation also typist juror is now Morse code juror but OCD maid juror is still OCD maid juror so that's something at least and we also have totally innocent tourist juror --- |

LeonhartFour 08/17/21 4:45:16 PM #39 | also when it comes to prosecutors in the Ace Attorney world, I think we have to remember that trials end in mere days, so even by the age of 27, van Zieks may have already prosecuted over a hundred cases at that point, which would probably be enough to gain notoriety in legal circles makes you wonder how many cases Manfred von Karma actually won over the course of 40 years --- |

Topic | Leonhart Plays The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Spoilers) |
LeonhartFour 08/16/21 5:41:19 PM #183 | Hmmm...I didn't totally remember how everything in the omnibus really happened, so I was waiting for this part of the case to put everything in order. I couldn't remember if Gina was actually there or if the entire thing was a lie. She did say that the cops found her and forced her to testify, so that would imply that there was an inside job to get McGilded off with a not guilty verdict. I'm guessing the big thud was the victim falling to the floor, but there wasn't actually any blood on the floor of the carriage at first, so that still confuses me. Gina says she had his blood all over her hands while she was sitting next to him, but in the image they show as she says this, she has no blood on her hands and he doesn't even have the knife sticking out of his chest, so that's a bit confusing as well. I suppose I can believe Mason didn't bleed much at first because the weapon hadn't been pulled out, but it also doesn't explain how Gina got blood all over her hands. Did McGilded smear it all over her hands when he grabbed her out from under the seat or something? And then put on the gloves to cover his own hands? In any event, all the details still aren't adding up to me yet, but I know there's still more to come, so maybe that will clear things up. --- |

LeonhartFour 08/15/21 10:45:46 PM #178 | On Iris's idea board, she has the title "The Boscombe Valley Mystery," which is, naturally, another Holmes story. I honestly don't remember this one all that well, even after reading a summary to try to refresh my memory. --- |

LeonhartFour 08/15/21 3:13:17 PM #175 | generally not a fan of the "man don't all grown-ups suck" trope but Gina is complaining that all adults do is lie and steal when that's also all that she does nice subtle shot by Holmes to call her out on it though --- |
