Nah, I think the story's better for having a forced sense of direction.

(although Episode Ignis improves upon the in-game story in ways that make me sad we'll never see the canceled DLC episodes)

It and MGSV are cut from the same cloth in that they have the foundation set for all-time greatness but lack the last third of the game (or in FFXV's case the last half really) (and the introduction, which got turned into a movie instead).

FFXV's problem is the middle, not the end. The game is pretty great from chapter 9 onward. Like foolmo said, MGSV only reaches the heights of the rest of the series one time.

Third place match: Jigglypuff vs. Rosalina & Luma

Sephiroth: These two came close to the finals but couldnt quite get there. Maybe a win will put one of them in a position for a title shot.

*Rosalina takes the early advantage, using Luma effectively to deal damage. Shes able to keep Jigglypuff in the air as she tries to float away from damage, but then Rosalina nails her with her up-smash. Rosalina is able to use Luma to land a couple of smash attacks and KO Jigglypuff (Rosalina 3-2)*

Crono: Rosalina is controlling the pace of this match right now.

*Jigglypuff keeps the fight in the air, but this time, shes able to string together some offense. When she lands on the ground, she charges up her neutral-B and slams into Rosalina to get the KO (2-2)*

Sephiroth: Jigglypuff really needed that one.

*Rosalina once again tries to keep Jigglypuff trapped in the air, juggling her between herself and Luma. Jigglypuff eventually figures a way around it and starts pounding on Rosalina as a Smash Ball drops onto the stage. As Rosalina attempts to crack it open, Jigglypuff insta-KOs her with her down-B (Jigglypuff 2-1)*

Crono: Ouch, Jigglypuff can hit you with that when you least expect it.

*When Rosalina returns, she busts open the Smash Ball and punishes Jigglypuff as she sleeps. Jigglypuff tries to float out of the way, but when she drops, Rosalina crushes her with her dashing attack for the KO (1-1)*

Sephiroth: Rosalina was ready for Jigglypuff that time.

*Jigglypuff tries to knock the Smash Ball out of Rosalina when she returns, but she cant manage to do it. Rosalina grabs Jigglypuff and throws her into the air, and then activates her Final Smash. Jigglypuff tries to float away, but shes not fast enough. She gets launched off the side to end the match (Rosalina wins, 1-0)*

Sephiroth: Rosalina wins! Maybe she can earn herself another shot at Isabelle now.

Crono: Rosalina really tried hard to keep Jigglypuff up in the air and mostly succeeded. Jigglypuff only had eight ground attacks for the entire match.

Lightweight Tournament

Championship match: Captain Olimar vs. Isabelle

Sephiroth: Its time to crown our first champion of the Smash Ultimate Fighting League. Who will it be?

*Olimar pelts Isabelle with his Pikmin for big damage early. Isabelle is able to reel him in and throw him a few times to build up percentage on him as well. Isabelle launches Olimar with her up-air and then her side-air, but hes able to recover. Then Olimar hits Isabelle with his side-air to KO her (Olimar 3-2)*

Crono: Olimar is in control of this match so far.

*A Smash Ball appears, and even after Isabelle knocks Olimar away, hes able to latch one of his Pikmin onto it to crack it open. He uses it right away to deal good damage on her. Olimar knocks Isabelle off the side and keeps hitting her with air attacks to try to KO her, but she keeps getting back to the stage. Isabelle hits Olimar with one of her explosive traps and nearly KOs him, but he survives. She gets him again a second time and scores the KO (2-2)*

Sephiroth: Isabelle is slowly working her way back into the match.

*Olimar grabs Isabelle a couple of times and throws her off the side, but he cant get the KO. She starts racking up the damage on him, but then Olimar hits her with his neutral-air to launch her. Isabelle launches Olimar with her standing attack and then follows it with her up-air. She chases Olimar around for a while and then hits him with her side-air for the KO (Isabelle 2-1)*

Crono: And just like that, Isabelle is one KO away from the title.

*A Smash Ball appears, and Isabelle gets it this time. Olimar tries to batter her with his Pikmin from afar to knock it out of her, but to no avail. Eventually, shes able to trap him with her Final Smash and launch him off the side to end the match (Isabelle wins, 2-0)*

Sephiroth: Your winner, and new lightweight champion, is Isabelle! She just would not be denied during her entire tournament run. Nobody seemed to know how to handle her.

Crono: But Olimar was able to give her a lot of trouble early. It was her ability to tank a lot of damage on that second stock that enabled her to turn this match around. She got all the way up to 174% by the end. Isabelle was able to persevere despite Olimar landing nearly half of his attacks as well, so its a well-deserved championship.

Match 2: Pac-Man vs. Shulk

Sephiroth: Dr. Mario is in the finals, but which of these two will join him?

*Pac-Man quickly puts Shulk on the ropes and knocks him off the side. He drops the fire hydrant on him looking for the fast KO, but it doesnt work. Shulk struggles to land attacks and Pac-Man punishes him for his misses. Shulk switches to Buster mode and starts connecting with his attacks. Pac-Man tosses Shulk off the side as a Smash Ball appears. Pac-Man grabs it and immediately uses his Final Smash to get the KO (Pac-Man 3-2)*

Crono: I dont know how you avoid that Final Smash. Its just too good.

*Shulk immediately nails Pac-Man with his down-smash when he returns to launch him. However, he struggles to follow it up as Pac-Man keeps punishing his misses. Shulk launches Pac-Man with his dashing attack, but once again cant get a good follow up. Hes eventually able to land his up-smash to get the KO (2-2)*

Sephiroth: Shulk is fighting hard to stay in the match by using his raw strength, but he needs to be more consistent offensively.

*Pac-Man continues to be evasive and doesnt let Shulk get into a rhythm, although he does land the occasional strike. Pac-Man drops the fire hydrant on Shulk and then nails him with his side-smash for the KO (Pac-Man 2-1)*

Crono: That was a devastating one-two punch right there.

*Shulk returns with an up-smash for good damage and starts throwing out all his best attacks. He launches Pac-Man with his side-air as a Smash Ball appears. Instead of going after the Smash Ball, Shulk decides to chase after Pac-Man. However, Pac-Man hits him with his up-B as he recovers, and Shulk is left stranded out too far to get back to the stage, so he drops for a KO to end the match (Pac-Man wins, 2-0)*

Sephiroth: Pac-Man wins! Looks like itll be pellets vs. pills in the finals. That doesnt seem very family-friendly, does it?

Crono: Pac-Mans efficiency might have made the difference here, as he landed 40% of his attacks compared to only 30% for Shulk. Even so, if Shulk had focused on getting the Smash Ball while Pac-Man was struggling to get back to the stage, that couldve given him the momentum.

Middleweight Tournament

Match 1: Dr. Mario vs. Lucario

Sephiroth: Today weve got two fighters whose names rhyme with each other. Go figure.

*Both fighters struggle to land anything offensively early on, but then Dr. Mario is able to take the advantage in percentage. He grabs and throws Lucario off the side and then tries to follow it up, but Lucario dodges. Then Dr. Mario hits him with his down-B and nearly bounces him off the underside of the stage, but Lucario is able to recover. Dr. Mario throws him off again and hits him with his down-B when Lucario uses his side-B to get back to the stage. Eventually, he nails Lucario with his up-air to get the KO (Dr. Mario 3-2)*

Crono: Dr. Mario is the aggressor early and takes the lead.

*Lucario gets serious and starts pounding on Dr. Mario to rack up the damage while minimizing his own. He launches Dr. Mario as a Smash Ball appears. Dr. Mario is able to string together some attacks on Lucario as he tries to get the Smash Ball, which eventually just floats away without anyone claiming it. Afterwards, Lucario launches Dr. Mario and follows it up to knock him too far below the stage to recover for a KO (2-2)*

Sephiroth: Lucario couldve used that Smash Ball to get a faster KO, but the end result is the same, I suppose.

*Dr. Mario comes back and launches Lucario with a couple of side-airs. Lucario fully charges up his projectile and tries to blast Dr. Mario with it, but he misses and gets punished as a result. The two fight off the side and Dr. Mario nails Lucario with his side-air for the KO (Dr. Mario 2-1)*

Crono: Dr. Mario has knocked Lucario off of his game so far. He just cant get anything going consistently.

*Lucario wastes no time going hard after Dr. Mario but cant land the kill shot. He eventually gets knocked down below the stage but manages to recover. A Smash Ball appears, and this time Lucario snags it. He immediately uses his Final Smash to KO Dr. Mario (1-1)*

Sephiroth: As usual, theres really nothing you can do about that Final Smash once Lucario gets it.

*Dr. Mario sends Lucario flying with his down-B and charges up his patented side-smash, but Lucario is able to dodge it. Lucario just cant seem to hit any attacks, and then he drops into Dr. Marios side-smash for the KO to end the match (Dr. Mario wins, 1-0)*

Sephiroth: Dr. Mario wins! And hes suddenly one win away from the championship. Shouldnt someone protest his inclusion?

Crono: Lucario just got outright dominated in this match, which is a big surprise based on how well hed performed up to this point. Dr. Mario racked up nearly 425% damage, compared to about 275% for Lucario. Even so, if Lucario had been able to grab that first Smash Ball, it couldve been a completely different story. Thats how slim the margins are.

Match 3: Ridley vs. Ganondorf

Sephiroth: Ganondorf is up for the second match of the week. Will he have the stamina to win again?

*Ridley grabs Ganondorf with his side-B immediately and drags him off to the side. The two battle off the edge, and it looks like Ganondorf wont be able to get back. However, Ridley inexplicably knocks Ganondorf up into the air, enabling him to recover. Ridley keeps racking up the damage and knocks Ganondorf off the other side and hits him with a follow-up attack. This time, he lets Ganondorf just drop for a KO (Ridley 3-2)*

Crono: Ridley learned from his first mistake there.

*The two trade power shots for a while until Ganondorf launches Ridley with a side attack. Ridley is able to get back, but Ganondorf is waiting for him. He slams Ridley with his side-B after grabbing him in mid-air, and then follows it up with his side-air for the KO (2-2)*

Sephiroth: Thats just raw power from Ganondorf there.

*Both of them take the fight off the side for a while, and Ganondorf tries to knock Ridley down below recovery without success. Ridley nails Ganondorf with his down-smash to launch him. Then they fight under the stage again for a while. Ganondorf nearly bounces Ridley off the underside of the stage and then hits him with a couple of up-Bs as a Smash Ball appears. Ridley quickly goes after it and claims it. He tries to use it immediately to catch Ganondorf off guard, but he misses. He grabs Ganondorf and tosses him, but hes barely able to get back. Ganondorf launches him with his side-air and tries to follow it up, but Ridley crushes him with his up-air to KO him (Ridley 2-1)*

Crono: Ouch, just when it looked like Ganondorf was about to take the lead, Ridley was ready for him.

*Ganondorf quickly goes for the kill shot with a couple of smash attacks, but then Ridley grabs him with his side-B and drags him off the side. By the time Ganondorf is able to break free, hes down too far to recover, so he drops for a KO to end the match (Ridley wins, 2-0)*

Sephiroth: Ridley wins! Ganondorf made him work for it a bit, but Ridley still hasnt been pushed to the limit in any of his matches.

Crono: Both fighters were close in terms of damage dealt and received, and Ganondorfs peak damage was nearly 200%. His endurance might have enabled him to make a comeback if he couldve gotten the quick KO, and Ridley hadnt managed to take him out at the end with his side-B.

Match 2: Wario vs. Simon Belmont

Sephiroth: These two fighters were not expected to be here, but the winner today will be just one step away from a championship.

*Wario and Simon immediately go to the edge of the stage. Simon hits Wario with a few projectiles and his whip. Wario jumps to evade his attack, and Simon chases after him, but he completely botches his recovery to fall for a KO at merely 5% (Wario 3-2)*

Crono: Yikes, not the sort of mistake you can afford to make with the stakes as high as this. Can Simon recover from this?

*Wario goes right after Simon, hitting him with a couple of smash attacks to knock him off the edge. Wario feigns like hes going to go off the side after him to lure him into attacking but hops back, and Simon once again drops for a low percentage KO, this time at 35% (Wario 3-1)*

Sephiroth: Im speechless. There are no words for how badly Simon is choking out there.

*The two trade blows for a while as Simon racks up damage with his projectiles. Wario grabs Simon and tosses him off the side. It looks like hes going to fall helplessly for another KO to end the match, but he just barely gets back this time. Then Wario hits him with his dashing attack to send him flying, but this time, Simon doesnt get back and falls to end the match (Wario wins, 3-0)*

Sephiroth: Wario wins! After watching that, you start to wonder how Simon ever beat anyone.

Crono: This was certainly one of the strangest matches Ive seen. It was over in under 1:30, with Wario not even taking 100% damage overall. Wario won while only dealing 130% damage because of how low percentage all of Simons KOs were.

Heavyweight Tournament

Match 1: Ganondorf vs. Banjo-Kazooie

Sephiroth: This is a bit of an odd situation, where the winner will have to fight again later on in the week to get us to the final match next week.

*Banjo and Ganondorf trade blows for a while, with Banjo having a small advantage in percentage. Then Ganondorf nails an up-smash followed by his neutral-air to turn things in his favor. Banjo hits Ganondorf with his side-smash to launch him. Then Ganondorf hits Banjo with his side-air to get the KO (Ganondorf 3-2)*

Crono: Ganondorf shows off his raw strength on that knockout.

*Banjo spams his projectiles for a while to try to keep Ganondorf at bay, but then he slips in his side-smash for good damage. Banjo cant hit a decisive blow while Ganondorf tosses him around and racks up damage. Banjo launches Ganondorf with his side-B and then pelts him with his projectile to gimp his recovery so he drops for the KO (2-2)*

Sephiroth: Impressive accuracy to ensure the KO for Banjo.

*Ganondorf goes for the instant kill with the side-smash but whiffs, but then he hits him with his dashing attack to launch him. Ganondorf grabs him with his up-B to send him flying as a Smash Ball drops onto the stage. Banjo tries to come in and grab it, but Ganondorf knocks it away and claims it for himself. Banjo tries to knock it loose with his side-B, but Ganondorf jumps over it and nails him with his neutral-air for the KO (Ganondorf 2-1)*

Crono: And now Ganondorf is showing off his quick reflexes, and hes able to save the Final Smash, to boot.

*As soon as Banjos invincibility frames wear off, Ganondorf lands his Final Smash to rack up damage and launch him. He tries to drop the heel on Banjo as he returns to the stage, but he dodges it. Banjo goes on a roll offensively as he tries to get Ganondorf down to his last stock. He launches him with his side-B and tries to follow up off the side, but Ganondorf hits him with his up-B. Banjo pelts him with some more projectiles and then launches him with his side-air, but Ganondorf is just barely able to get back. Ganondorf sends Banjo flying as a Smash Ball appears. However, it turns out not to be needed as Banjo cant get back to the stage, dropping for a KO to end the match (Ganondorf wins, 2-0)*

Sephiroth: Ganondorf wins! Now hell have to square off against Ridley a little bit later to see who advances to the finals.

Crono: Despite losing by two stocks, Banjo fought well. He dealt good damage and landed a good percentage of his attacks. Ganondorf was just stronger, so he was able to get the KOs when he needed them.

that would enable us to do away with needing Alph for an even number of characters for teams

If you guys have thoughts about what else points can be used for, feel free to throw them out. I'm open to any ideas you might have. That was just stuff I came up with off the topic of my head. I forget what all Moltar allowed points to be used on in the original Brawl Fighting League.

Also, I have a couple of conundrums for next week's matches.

First of all, in the heavyweight division, we're in a weird spot where we still have one quarterfinal match left to run, which would mean we'd be in a possible position of only running one match next week before the final. I thought about doing three matches, but you'd have three possible winners for the last match.

Ganondorf vs. Banjo-Kazooie
Wario vs. Simon Belmont
Ridley vs. Ganondorf/Banjo-Kazooie winner

Like this. I thought about just allowing people to pick "match winner" without having to commit to either fighter, but perhaps having that pick only be worth half. Or maybe a 50 point bonus if they decide to pick just Ganondorf or Banjo. Of course, Ridley could win and completely make it a moot point, but yeah!

Also, in the Free for All tournament, there are only five fighters left, so I'm just going to run a 5-way match for the final. I thought about doing a runner-up match of all the second place finishers from the previous week, but then we literally had two triple KO finishes, which leaves me with 9 total characters! Maybe I could split it up between two matches?

Match 5: Mewtwo vs. Pokemon Trainer vs. Captain Falcon vs. Wolf ODonnell

Sephiroth: After this match, the Free for All championship match will be set in stone. Who will claim the final spot?

*Wolf and Captain Falcon take the most damage early. Falcon and Squirtle get launched up into the air by an up-smash as Pokemon Trainer switches to Ivysaur. A Smash Ball appears, and Mewtwo claims it. He uses his Final Smash right away to KO Wolf and Charizard right after he had just been switched in. Captain Falcon grabs a green shell and launches Mewtwo with it but cant KO him. He chases him off the side of the stage and nails him with a meteor strike for the KO, but hes left hanging with no means of recovery, so he drops for a KO, too*

Crono: And now everyones down a stock. Its still anyones match.

*Wolf gets his Final Smash and nails Squirtle with it for good damage, prompting Pokemon Trainer to switch to Ivysaur, who gets his Final Smash. He uses it to hit Mewtwo and Wolf for good damage. Captain Falcon gets his Final Smash, but he also gets zeroed in on by a Staryu and cant escape from it. Then Charizard nails him with his side-B for the KO. He does the same to Mewtwo for another KO*

Sephiroth: An unfortunate sequence of events for Captain Falcon there.

*The characters duel off the side of the stage for a while, but no one can score a KO. Once they get back up onto the stage, Captain Falcon lands a direct hit on Wolf with the knee for a KO. Mewtwo hits Squirtle with his dashing attack to score the KO. Mewtwo gets his Final Smash and hits Falcon with it for good damage, but it activates his Final Smash as well. He hits Charizard with his for good damage, which in turn then activates Pokemon Trainers Final Smash. When he gets back to the stage, he uses the Triple Finish to get the triple KO and win the match*

Sephiroth: Pokemon Trainer wins! Wow, two matches weve seen end on a triple KO! This was a crazy week.

Crono: Pokemon Trainer was nearly unstoppable out there, getting 6 KOs and racking up 604% damage, twice as much as the next closest, Wolf, who had 300% exactly. Pokemon Trainer was also the only character to deal out more damage than he received.

1. Pokemon Trainer
2t. Mewtwo
2t. Captain Falcon
2t. Wolf ODonnell

(once again, congrats to everyone who had Pokemon Trainer winning for the easy perfect score)

Match 4: Isabelle vs. Luigi vs. Samus Aran vs. Bowser Jr.

Sephiroth: Olimar couldnt make it to a second final match, but maybe Isabelle can. Its tough to bet against her at this point.

*Samus and Bowser Jr. take a lot of damage quickly as Isabelle blows up the apparatus with her explosive traps. Samus grabs a Pokeball and Kyogre comes out, and the confined space makes it difficult to dodge its attacks and attempts to push them off the side. Eventually, Bowser Jr. is knocked out beyond recovery for a KO. Isabelle launches Luigi with her side-air, but when she tries to follow up, Luigis side-B explodes and obliterates her for a KO*

Crono: Wow, a rare bad break for Isabelle! How will she respond to this adversity?

*Isabelle and Bowser Jr. get their Final Smashes, but Bowser Jr. strikes first and manages to KO all three characters with it. Then Luigi gets his Final Smash and sucks up Samus and Bowser Jr. into it for good damage, and Bowser Jr. is launched out for a KO. A Smash Ball appears, and Isabelle claims it right as Samus gets her Final Smash and blasts it with it. However, she manages to survive. She captures Luigi and sends him flying, but he holds on. Isabelle grabs an explosive item and hits everyone with it, KOing Bowser Jr. and eliminating him from the match*

Sephiroth: Bowser Jr. is unceremoniously shown the door as the other three battle on their final stocks.

*Isabelle grabs Luigi and throws him, but he still hangs on. However, she clobbers him with smash attack as he tries to return to the stage to finish the job. Chaos erupts everywhere with explosive items and Pokeballs, and in the midst of all that, Luigi hits Isabelle with an up-smash to eliminate her. Samus grabs an item that attempts to carry Luigi off the stage, but he breaks free and activates his Final Smash, capturing Samus with it to KO her and win the match*

Sephiroth: Luigi wins! I dont even know whats going on anymore.

Crono: Luigi netted 5 KOs despite taking more damage than he received. Isabelle was once again an offensive monster, dealing 150% more damage than the next closest person. She just got a couple of bad breaks that were too much to overcome. Samus dealt exactly as much damage as she received.

1. Luigi
2. Samus Aran
3. Isabelle
4. Bowser Jr.

Match 3: Pit vs. Captain Olimar vs. Mega Man vs. Chrom

Sephiroth: Olimar has already made it to the finals of one tournament. Can he make it to another final?

*Chrom and Olimar take some heavy damage early. Pit launches Chrom with a smash attack and tries to follow it up, but Chrom uses his up-B as a kamikaze kill to KO them both. Pit sends Olimar flying up and Chrom launches Mega Man off the side, but they both manage to survive. Pit uses his up-air to send Mega Man up into the air and Chrom finishes him off with his side-air for the KO. Not long after returning, Mega Man hits Olimar with his side-air to KO him as well*

Crono: Everyone seems to be on even footing so far.

*Mega Man gets his Final Smash and catches all three fighters in it for good damage, but he can only KO Chrom. Pit gets his Final Smash and uses it to KO Mega Man. Olimar knocks Chrom off the stage beyond recovery and he drops for a KO as hes eliminated from the match. Olimar gets his Final Smash and uses it to deal good damage but no KOs*

Sephiroth: And just like that, Chrom is gone. His lack of range cost him big time.

*Mega Man rocks Pit with his up-smash to KO him. Mega Man grabs an Assist Trophy, and then he hits Olimar with a side-air. It doesnt KO Olimar, but he falls right into the Assist Trophy when he returns to the stage and gets KOd instantly. Pit also gets hit a couple of times for good damage. A Smash Ball appears as Mega Man gets his Final Smash. He traps Olimar with it for good damage as Pit breaks open the Smash Ball. He hits Olimar with it to eliminate him from the match as Mega Man throws an item, which carries a helpless Pit off the top of the screen to end the match*

Sephiroth: Mega Man wins! He got a couple of nice assists there at the end.

Crono: Mega Man was by far the most effective fighter out there, nearly doubling the next closest fighter in damage given. He also racked up 5 KOs. For the second straight match, Fire Emblem struggles as Chroms poor recovery is his Achilles heel. In his three KOs, his peak damage was only 88%.

1. Mega Man
2. Pit
3. Captain Olimar
4. Chrom

Match 2: Roy vs. Young Link vs. Pac-Man vs. R.O.B.

Sephiroth: Pac-Man advanced in his singles tournament while R.O.B. was eliminated earlier in the week. How will that affect their performances here?

*Young Link takes a beating early and eventually breaks the apparatus above the tower platform from bouncing off of it too many times. A fake Smash Ball appears, and the other three characters get caught by the explosion. R.O.B. gets the club and fully charges it in an attempt to wipe out the other fighters, but they hold on. Someone grabs an Assist Trophy and Knuckles appears. He charges at Young Link and KOs him with an uppercut. R.O.B. knocks Pac-Man off the side and Roy chases after him, but Pac-Man KOs Roy with his up-B as he attempts to recover. Then R.O.B. clobbers Pac-Man with a direct shot from the club to KO him*

Crono: Nice to see a fellow redhead make an appearance!

*Pac-Man drops a fire hydrant onto R.O.B. and nearly KOs him with it, but this activates his Final Smash. Pac-Man also gets his Final Smash and strikes first, hitting R.O.B. with it a few times for the KO. Roy gets his Final Smash and strikes true, launching Pac-Man for the KO. Young Link also gets his Final Smash but misses when he tries to use it. A real and fake Smash Ball appear. The fake one is broken first, and the explosion KOs Roy. R.O.B. gets the real Smash Ball and tries to take out Young Link with it, but he manages to dodge it*

Sephiroth: You gotta be able to tell which one is the genuine article in a situation like that.

*Pac-Man grabs the hammer and KOs both Young Link and R.O.B. with it. He hits Roy with it once, but he manages to survive. Pac-Man gets his Final Smash, and he scores a triple KO to win the match*

Sephiroth: Pac-Man wins! He was a one-man wrecking crew at the end there.

Crono: Between the hammer and the Final Smashes, Pac-Man was hard to stop, scoring 7 total KOs and nearly 600% of damage. This isnt the first time that Roy has mightily struggled, only dealing 180% damage and getting no KOs. He seems to be boom or bust when hes out there.

1. Pac-Man
2t. R.O.B.
2t. Young Link
2t. Roy

(congrats, all you had to do was have Pac-Man winning to get a perfect score)

Free for All Tournament

Match 1: Jigglypuff vs. Falco Lombardi vs. Kirby vs. Lucas

Sephiroth: Jigglypuff and Kirby just suffered a brutal loss in the tag team tournament. Will they even have the energy to stay competitive in this match?

*Kirby tries to meteor strike Jigglypuff with his down-B early, but it doesnt work. Jigglypuff charges up her neutral-B and launches Falco with it. Kirby nails Falco with his up-smash and breaks the apparatus above the tower platform. Falco tries to meteor strike Kirby but misses, and then he hits Lucas with his side-air to launch him. Falco hits Kirby with his side-smash to KO him as Jigglypuff sends him flying with her up-smash. Kirby returns and nails Falco with his side-air for a revenge KO*

Crono: Kirby and Falco going at each other early on!

*Jigglypuff hits Falco with her down-B, which breaks the apparatus above the tower again and activates his Final Smash. He hits Lucas with a side-smash to launch him and then hits Jigglypuff with his Final Smash to KO her. As Lucas is trying to use his up-B to recover, Kirby drops on him with his down-B to bounce him off the underside of the stage for a KO*

Sephiroth: Kirby with the precision power shot for the KO.

*Kirby gets his Final Smash and hits Jigglypuff with it for good damage, but it doesnt KO her and activates her own Final Smash. As she uses it upon recovering, Lucas KOs Falco with his up-air. However, Jigglypuff uses the Final Smash too high up in the air, so it has no effect. Falco grabs an Assist Trophy, which immediately runs over and KOs Kirby with a foot stomp. Lucas gets his Final Smash and uses it immediately, and he nets the rare triple KO, which eliminates both Kirby and Falco from the match*

Crono: Lucas with the triple KO and the double elimination!

*A real and fake Smash Ball appear, and Jigglypuff gets the real one. She launches Lucas with it, but he survives. Jigglypuff tries to hit with her down-B, but she misses and gets punished by Lucas with his up-smash. Jigglypuff finishes assembling a weapon and blasts Lucas with it to get the KO. Upon returning, Lucas knocks Jigglypuff off the side and nails her with a meteor strike to win the match*

Sephiroth: Lucas wins! Hes just one step away from the championship now!

Crono: Lucas was incredibly efficient, getting 5 KOs despite only dealing about 250% damage and taking nearly 100% more. Jigglypuff hung around to the very end despite only getting 1 KO toward the end of the match. Sometimes its better just to fly under the radar in these free for alls, and it nearly worked for her.

1. Lucas
2. Jigglypuff
3. Kirby
4. Falco Lombardi

Yeah, it feels like ZTD saves all its biggest shots for the end and hits you with them all at once. It works in its own way.
