you miss the fact that teachers don't fucking wanna be armed. they're teachers.

Yeah I don't think you can make blanket statements like that

Small sample size, but I know numerous teachers in Illinois, both Chicago and suburb, as well as Indiana. All of them to a T do not want to be armed under any circumstance while in school, even a very pro-2nd amendment Hoosier teacher, and if that was a job requirement several of them would simply not teach anymore.

So, yes, blanket statements are not good, but the fact is that saying that teachers have to be armed would a) drive more than a fair share of teachers out of the occupation and b) likely only attract new teachers that we wouldn't want to be teachers.

That's just nonsense. The character you play as becomes Sheogorath in Oblivion and the Sheogorath in Skyrim specifically mentions being involved in the Oblivion crisis. So, "someone" became the new Sheogorath and that "someone" just so happened to do the exact stuff that your character did, and somehow that gets interpreted as someone else doing it? Please, the only way they're not the same would be if a different person became Sheogorath after the champion decided to stop playing that role,at which point you'd still say that him at this best was stronger than the dragonborn at his best.

Provide the link to the dev supposedly saying that this wasn't the case. I'm almost willing to bet that it's an "interpret at your own will" sort of thing.

The same character that you play in Oblivion becomes Sheogorath. Can't really be more clear than that. Saying that it wasn't necessary to do in the game doesn't change the fact that it could be done and was done, so that's the canon. They even dropped hints that Sheogorath was involved in the Oblivion crisis in Skyrim, which he wasn't the case unless the champion that was involved went on to become the new Sheogorath.

Not canon so no.

*Someone* became Sheogorath (at least for a time) but it is not canonically the CoC

He was named the new Sheogorath in an Oblivion expansion. How's that not canon?

Yeah but the fact that Jumanji is pulling larger weekly totals is sad and telling

How? Jumanji was a huge surprise hit and TLJ still had a significantly larger gate while the other two movies you brought up weren't even in the same ballpark at the box office.

And if you notice, TLJ is just barely behind the most successful Harry Potter film, So, a supposed underwhelming Star Wars entry was still about as big as the biggest Harry Potter entry? I think Disney will be fine.

Solo, on the other hand...

K181

The powers that be were terrified of a Versailles 2.0. They didn't want to let Japan off the hook only to rise again in a couple decades and start an even bloodier conflict. Couple that with their experiences facing fanatical, and often suicidal, defenses by hardline Japanese troops on Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and the Philippines, and you have a situation where American policy planners weren't willing to consider conditional surrender without occupation and wanted to avoid a brutally costly invasion of the Japanese home islands. Even if they decided against an invasion and instead wanted to continue traditional bombing campaigns or implement a blockade, the end result would've been greater casualties in Japan, among Allied servicemen, and among Chinese civilian populations, not to mention allow for the Soviets to establish a more pronounced base of power in China and Korea as well as give them incentive to demand a divided Japan.

BvS killed my interest in the DC franchise aside from Wonder Woman standalone films. It'll take phenomenal reviews and word of mouth for me to really go see one of their films now, much in the same way that I had no interest in seeing either Garfield Spider-Man film or the recent X-Men films. I can't even guess how many reliable movie-goers like me were just turned off by the franchise and their interest was just killed as well.

Meanwhile, Marvel films are at least consistently entertaining, though there have been occasional ones like Ant-Man that I didn't see out of lack of interest. Black Panther at least looks interesting, so I'll give it a shot. There have been misses, but there's still a track record of quality in there and banked goodwill for me.
