Its actually a good question.

I mean, these days you can't really answer with "go meet people in real life" in most places because there just don't seem to be any places for actively doing so as far as I know. Anymore.

The uses of the internet end up coming with some serious social downsides for society.
.

This is what I am saying. Back 10-15 years ago we had two local game shops. Neither of them exist anymore.

I am trying to figure out what "normal" people actually do for hobbies. It seems like all of them facebook or twitter or whatnot and don't actually socialize either.

I don't think you understand. There is nothing wrong with living with my parents. At all. I don't see any reason to move out either.

Chewster posted...
I'm kind of apathetic about video games lately but it's more of a guilt over my free time thing. However I am trying to stop looking at it as a "backlog" and instead just playing stuff because I want to.

Try realizing that I have been completely apathetic towards them for I don't know, around 10 years now. There aren't any new games coming out that really interest me, there haven't been any games in the past year or so either. Games do not cater to the type of gamer I am anymore anyways (games are more quick fixes, like a drug rather than long lasting / memorable experience).

I don't care if anyone doesn't get this, but that's how it is. I am very happy with myself right now, a lot happier than I have been in a long time.

I was chilling out after work and I realized that I would be completely apathetic if I never played a single video game again. Honestly, over the past year or so there's been 1 game I've had any real attachment to and other than that I really don't see the drive / interest in new games as they don't generally appeal to me.

I then questioned myself some more.

What do I want to spend my money on? What do I want for a hobby?

I don't know. I was thinking about all of this because of a thread I saw on my local reddit the other day about people looking for a local board game meetup. Tomorrow I'm gonna go down to the place where it's held to see if they still hold it, when it happens, ect. Also grab lunch there if anything interests me (It's a cafe so I'm not 100% on this).

Then I'm like, am I really enjoying myself? What do I want to do in my free time now? Honestly there isn't anything. I have no friends, no hobbies, I don't drink, smoke, or have any way to socialize. I want to do some socialization.

Then I'm reminded what my friends and PotD have told me in the past. "Learn to drive", "Move out of your parent's place". I don't think that either of these are my issues. I have already established in the past I want to move out to Boston proper eventually. I am not a fan of driving either, I never have been.

So that's where I am right now. I am stuck where I am for now because of my Job, but I want to meet new people and money is not a concern again.

And people told me that my "depression" wouldn't be cured by getting a job. This job has been the best thing to ever happen to me.

Depends on the game.

I Have put around $100 into PoE but I always play for 200 or more hours a league. I don't buy their MTX (Their MTX is expensive) and they do the $3 random cosmetic lockbox shit which have items which rarely make up for it. Plus their MTX is horribly expensive ($30 for a cosmetic armor set or a pair of Wings).

Warframe's Lootboxes on the other hand are never worth buying (Mod Packs) and Plat is pretty pricey, but the game basically doles out Plat like candy to anyone who wants it.

80/80 without period plis fix.

Anyways, I started my current job a bit over a month ago and over all I am pretty happy, and for the first few weeks I think I was working at a decent pace.

Last week was a bit meh. I don't think I am getting as much done as I think I should be and It's starting to bug me. I am very bad at evaluating how well I am performing compared to my coworkers as well mainly because I don't have a great grasp on what they're working on and I am in a mid-level position and have several people working in the office with less experience than me.

The most obvious option is to work more hours, and is something I'd like to do I guess.

I asked one of my coworkers how I was doing a few weeks ago and he said I was doing pretty good so there's that at as well.

idk what the point of this thread was I just wanted to put something out there to the PotD void. I am overall enjoying myself but I have that issue where I constantly think I am not working as hard or as efficiently as possible.
