Glad it worked out for you.
Thank you. It was over a modded game console (PS2) that wasn't working. I contacted the seller and he was like "Oh it must be the modded HDD got damaged in shipping, I'll send you a replacement one." Then he never did. I messaged after a month, no response, messaged after another month, still no response.

In truth, it was kind of a shitty job. Supposed to have a white paint job, example pictures looked nice, but when I got it the paint job was shitty (the places between the black ridges not fully painted). BUT, I was going to take it as long as he could just get it working for me. All he had to do was ship me a replacement modded HDD. He didnt lmao, even after I messaged him two more times.

Now I should have just reported to ebay instead of waiting those two months and messaging twice, because after that it was like "You cannot contact this seller more than 60 days after your order." But I genuinely thought he was going to be cool.

On my first ticket, paypal rrejected me in his favor simply from him sending a screenshot of the ORIGINAL tracking received, even though I explained the situation fully in my ticket that the issue was after I received it. Basically they didn';t even read it. But they did review it properly when I resubmitted (I adjusted the reason slightly also)

So anyway, yeah, thank God for paypal.

I mean, they see both Jews and Muslims as lower races that deserves to die.
Having them kill each others is just perfect.
By looking at the map, you will see one Jewish state and multiple Muslim ones.
If Israel is destroyed, then it will be Muslims all over the place, growing larger and stronger.
But if Israel stay strong enough, then they will prevent the Muslims from growing "too strong".
So it is like the American election, two bad choices but one will be less of the evil.
But are they "helping them kill each other", or are they just going all in on helping Israel? Cause it seems to me they're just going all in on helping Israel.

Fantasy Life. Trust me bro.

It's actually my favorite game of all time. Though maybe skip it if you can't get the DLC (which you probably can't since the eShop shut down, unless you hack your console, which tbh is a lot easier than it sounds), since the DLC adds quite a bit of stuff to the game.

EDIT: Just saw the comment about JRPGs. I still stand by my FL recommendation though, since it's more of a gathering/crafting game with some minor JRPG elements in it. Probably closer to an Action RPG or something. Idk, I'm not an expert on game genres.
Reading about it, the sort of simulation aspects to definitely sounds Western rpg inspired at least. I'm interested

I've hardly even TOUCHED either of these consoles in my life. But my wife wanted a DS, because she played the Trauma Center ds games as a kid and wanted to get them. I convinced her we should get a 3ds in order to have access to both libraries.

So we got those two, and then I found Smash Bros 3ds really cheap so I got that too. That's our start.

Looking for recommendations. I will say, I very much want games with interesting art and gameplay (think, lets say, Katamari for PS2), which it seems the DS and 3DS line excel at compared to the home consoles.

Any good action games as well. Would also be interested to know if there's many Western RPGs on the consoles. I am not interested in JRPGs, unless there's one that has a really interesting spin on the genre in terms of gameplay or art.

In terms of geographical biomes, Skyrim is more diverse than Oblivion by almost double. Skyrim has tundra plains, autumn forests, pine forests, volcanic wastes, craggy river valleys, swamps, snow fields / forests, and glaciers. Cyrodiil is mostly just the Great Forest, with the Gold Coast and the snowy Jeralls on the borders.

In terms of weather and color, Oblivion has the clear edge, but...not as much as I once thought, going back to it. Oblivion goes too far into oversaturation (particularly in greens), whereas Skyrim overcorrects and goes way too far into desaturation. Still, Oblivion easily wins this category, largely due to many of Skyrim's textures being just bafflingly ugly, from its ratty pine trees to its snot-colored cave walls and Imperial fort ruins.

tl;dr - Skyrim's worldspace is more diverse, but Oblivion's is still prettier overall.
@masterpug3
I am modding Obivion for the first time, and boy there are some great mods, particularly Unique Landscapes and HESU landscapes (they work together).... they take Oblivion from being the blandest world (at least in terms of variety), to being easily up there with Skyrim and Morrowind. Now.... not necessarily as artistically coherent as those games, but definitely as beautiful and striking.

Tamriel Rebuilt is the only one that has any consistency. Helps that Morrowind modding is way easier than Oblivion/Skyrim.
It's important to keep in mind it took Tamriel Rebuilt like 15 years before they could actually start putting out expansions at a high quality, consistent rate. Skyrim is getting to that point, hopefully it will be the same, where sudddenly we have a consistent stream of new Skyrim expansions every year or two.

None. But there's some perfect episodes/close to perfect seasons, for sure. Cowboy Bebop does really good through its whole run, but the ending felt rushed.

Breaking Bad did mostrly good through its whole run, but its ending felt rushed.

Game of Thrones was good, but its ending felt rushed.

The first seasons of the Mandalorian were good, til they rushed back the characters reunion too quickly after splitting them up.

Basically all the best shows do really good, but at some point are out of runway and have to stop sooner than they wanted.

Squid Games was really good, but honestly could have been paced even tighter than it was, and it was paced tight.

So yeah, honestly no perfect shows. Pacing is the biggest problem usually.

Evangelion, maybe?

Instead of full machete, could put the prequels in the middle of Jedi, after Luke and Obi-Wan's scene on Dagobah, almost like he's relaying the story to Luke and finally coming clean. Not only keeps the big reveal in Empire a surprise, but also the one from that scene in Jedi. Then the only major out of order reveal is the Emperor's capabilities (which were hinted at by Yoda's warning) and keeps the happy ending.

For a first time watcher, anything other than 4-5-6-1-2-3 is a mistake.
It's more powerful for new viewers to watch 6 at the end. They're bawling when they see Hayden Christensen pop up. Also gives more impact to Yoda and the Emperor since we spent 3 movies getting to know them better.

So with that said, I'm clearly a machete fan. Chronological is good too.

But for my genuine watch order of the series it's:

Theatrical Star Wars (1977), theatrical Empire, then the entire series shows and all in chronological order, including upgraded versions of 4 and 5 (I watch fan edits that go even further than Lucas's special editions).

Exactly. I guess that's what I'm craving out of these RPGs, and it's just not what they're trying to do at all. But the first AAA developer that makes a large scale RPG in this way and commits to it.... they're gonna do really well for themselves

beard consequences

i moustache you what this means

also there is a way to combat savescumming, and that's through taking control of saves away from the player.

like, the thing you're designing against here is the player's desire for convenience. that's the first water test that players subject your game to. what's the easiest way through it? what's most effective? what hits hardest, takes the least amount of time, and has the highest effort:reward ratio? everyone min-maxes.
My solution is, these alternatives should be more enjoyable in creating a better story for your character than what you thought was going to happen.

Imagine you go to jail, and there is a chance you'll have a random encounter of having a crazy cellmate that will put you in some predicament, or any variety of situations.

Imagine if a developer of games like this, if instead of building pre determined quests that go the same way every time, instead put that effort into making these random "scenarios" based on common situations a player might get themselves into.

Like, the mentality of something like Crusader Kings or the Sims, but applied to an RPG.

So instead of an update that adds a new pre built, pre determined faction questline, or landscape with limited content, the update would be "more scenarios for when you go to jail" "more scenarios involving bandits and the wilderness" "more scenarios involving the church". Essentially building an RPG more like a strategy game.

Despite RPGs being the genre that focuses on stories, you can usually generate much more interesting player driven stories in a strategy game.

OLD Western Rpgs, like in the 80s and 90s, were doing what I'm talking about here. Check out Darklands. But after the mid 90s, I haven't seen this mentality applied to a AAA game.

so -- you're suggesting something that would pose the player more friction and you don't expect them to just reload out of it.
It would just encapsulate an entirely different way of looking at these kind of games. More as tools to create stories, rather than "beat the objective". The game should be designed to encourage that approach from the start.

Well, by open world, I mean the bethesda style "live your life" rpg or simulation kind of open world games.

If the consequence for death is just "reload your save".... then there is really no consequence at all. My solution is I usually play these games "dead-is-dead"/ironman, ie only one life. Much more enjoyable and intense that way.

But these kind of games really ought to incorporate many more alternatives to death.... getting captured by the bandits instead of killed, getting arrested (bethesda has this but its very shallow), waking up at a doctors, wake up having been revived by a necromancer. Or death alternatives based on your characters spirituality, such as in elder scrolls, if you followed one of the divine or daedra, have that somehow play into what happens in a situation where you'd normally die. Or, continuing as another character. \

Not saying there should never be death. But I think just reloading is kind of shitty.
