It's was out in la so it qualifies for the Oscar's. Everyone else gets it in a couple weeks.

The fact that it's not being advertised as a one shot, and the trailers don't make it look like one, shows that its not just a gimmick. It's done to tell the story, namely the horror of war and the uncertainty around it.

It's by far my most anticipated movie of 2020

I don't see why nostalgia and fanservice are dirty words, tbh. I enjoyed the callbacks.

they aren't, when they are done well. People loved endgame, which is fanservice and nostalgia. But it still told it's own story utilizing them. JJ was too afraid to say anything and just make lazy remakes meant to harken back to what people like, but failed to understand why people liked it. And what the impact of invalidating the previous movies plot points would have on the legacy of the original films.

Because nothing besides Donald Glover was good. The contradictory message of droids have feelings and how droids are treated in star wars. And the pointless end twist.

Visually pretty and thematically dull. And above everything, imagination is often better than reality. We didn't need a good guy han prequel. How people filled in their own back story of the smuggler turned hero for his love of leia is more interesting then what we got.

More pay leads to a more productive and better workforce.

People earning 7 bucks an hour that doesn't care about them are likely to not give a shit about the job themselves.

Raising minimum wage doesn't solve this and arguably makes it worse since people that were making more will now be making it. While some would get raises, not all would.

Minimum wage is well overdue for a raise. It should be 9-10/hr at least and I'd be okay with 11-12. Some cities obviously need higher, but that's not a national problem to solve.

But either way the amount of effort spent on something that impacts like 2% of the work force is exactly where they want you to focus your rage.

If we're pushing for any meaningful federal law for workers. Go for mandatory pto, lower overtime from 40 to 35 hours (and maybe something for people working multiple part time jobs, but that's again a small minority and could make it harder for them to get those second jobs). Maternity leave, for both the mother and father(both get x days one gets x+y). And countless other worker rights America is lacking.

Someone deserves blame for the disjoint between episodes 8 and 9. I like the tlj more and would have rather had rian do ep9 and build off it over jjs reliance on repeating the ot. But if you were going to have jj do 2 films have someone who fits his style do episode 8.

While episode 8 is my favorite movie of the trilogy judging on an individual level. Its the worse of the trilogy since jj didnt want to use what rian set up. rey not being born into a bloodline to be powerful. Luke's sacrifice being the spark that ignites the rebellion. And the force awakening beyond just rey.
