No, because he's still just a kid and that was just community college. If he keeps up at that pace, he might be smarter eventually, but not right now.
I'd argue that he is definitely more intellectually capable than most of us even if he hasn't reached the level of education some of us have. The fact that he can learn at such an accelerated rate probably makes him smarter, at least in that aspect.

I've been watching anything with Joe Taslim in it lately in preparation for Mortal Kombat. Warrior now has me hooked. I'm so glad it recently got renewed for a third season. I love the concept of mashing up the western and martial arts genres. The action is great and the characters are interesting. I need more right now. Still need to watch The Raid. I heard that was great too.

My answer to this question: if it's true that matter can never be created or destroyed, and it is true that you exist now as a being built of matter, then it must be true that the proof of your existence will forever be embedded in the fabric of the universe regardless of whether or not there is anyone around to remember it.

Ever stop by a spot on the way home from work for some weed and some coke for the weekend only to leave empty handed with a gun drawn in one hand and dragging a friend by his collar with the other because they didn't tell you they owed this dude like $5000 before you walked in? That's the sort of s*** I used to deal with on the regular. A pregnant female friend is sick of getting beat up by her man and scrambles to move out if her apartment while the dude is at work? An on and off ex that got hooked on heroin and started stripping showing up in your doorstep like a stray cat for years.. schizophrenic and off her meds...how about burying a dozen people your own age in a dozen years the first 12 years out if high school? We're not even getting into my childhood.
I just saw this edit. Maybe you should think about looking into some therapy. As an addictions counselor I have worked with many people that have experienced things like this plus more (not that I'm trying to minimize the significance of your experiences). It can help as long as you find the right therapist for you.

Here, online? Pfft. 6 of you know me. I've met 3 of you IRL. 3 of you I've done business with. Other than that, you're all just a username.

As to continuous conflict...what world do you live in where there isn't conflict and we're all just hugging it out?
I'm not saying there's never conflict. I'm saying that there are some personalities that invite it. I'm questioning the utility that has for your mental health. I just find it interesting that some people can thrive in conflict. IRL I get along with pretty much everyone and am usually the mediator in conflict at places like work, especially since I have a leadership role. I see you constantly butting heads with people on PotD and even though it is just an online forum, I always wonder "lol why?" ...actually maybe even more so because it's an internet forum.

I'll give you a cryptically short answer in truth since you've been around for so long.

My kindness has far too often been mistaken for weakness. People that I think are worth a damn have found I'm a valuable ally and fiercely loyal.

I'm not a violent man, but God has no use for a coward.
I understand how being taken advantage of can make one reluctant to make themselves vulnerable again, but I really question how being so callous can be helpful for you. It just seems like it leads to continuous conflict.

And that sort of thinking is exactly what I'm pushing back against here. "You're kind of rude"...oh noes, he was mean, that baddie!

I'll not be shamed for growing a pair and showing I have a fucking spine. I'm not bitching decades later about how mean those bullies were to me because I beat my bullies.

It seems I was part of the last generation that knew how to handle a bully, and it wasn't huggie bookies and coloring books.

Sometimes, an asshole just needs to be punched in the face. It seemed to work a lot better than bottling up frustrations to talk to a therapist about 10-20 years later.

Fuck.
You somehow think being rude is a virtue? Haha. I've never in my life had a problem with being bullied because I've always been assertive, but I've always been considerate of how other people feel. You don't need to speak down to others to feel better about yourself.

Not really. I mean, some people called me short but I'd usually have some witty comeback or just talk crap back to them. It was mostly just friends talking shit to each other. I didn't really see much bullying at my high school. Movies that portrayed bullying always seemed greatly exaggerated in comparison to my own school experiences. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, though.

Ooooh yeah I've heard horror stories about grad school
So I just finished Annihilation right now. This book was a trip. It is definitely different from most things I have read before. It was interesting how the author attempts to describe the indescribable, things that are outside the realm of human experience. I'm not sure how I felt about it overall because I couldn't really wrap my head around everything that was happening. It almost seems like part of the point of the story is that some things are just unknowable to us. It was more about the journey itself than having any definitive answers to what was happening.

JigsawTDC posted...
Yeah, but you sound way busier in life right now than I am. Plus, there's no competition except with yourself. And it's better to focus on quality than quantity imo! I know some people who give themselves arbitrary number goals to read (usually like 50 or 100 books in a year), but if I were to approach reading from that angle myself it would sap the joy of it because I would be more focused on hitting a number goal than enjoying or learning from what I'm reading. I'm just keeping track for fun.
It's funny you say that. I just made a good reads account and set a 20 book goal for the year. Lol. I haven't quite figured out which books I want to get to most. The next book I'm going to read is for school. It's a quick read, then I might either read American Gods or Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Dune, The Blade Itself, American Gods, Something Wicked Comes This Way, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Flies

I could add four more if I named the ones I knew for sure.

Edit: well, to be fair, I just know that you read or plan to read the four I am thinking of. You could just be borrowing them from who actually owns them...
I mean you could list them if you want. This will probably come down to the wildcards on the list anyway.

You see!? People ITT are saying a lot but dont know the basics.

A lot of the stuff people spew is great for BF/GF dating crap... but in order for a relationship to go the distance it is going to take WORK, and sometimes that work comes in the form of boundaries.
Source? Seems like you're just making stuff up. You could google the honeymoon stage and it wouldn't say 5 years. By the way, the length of the "honeymoon stage" is such an arbitrary number regardless that it's not really useful in supporting what you're trying to say.
