i feel like the next episode, the last episode, is going to have too much going on to properly end the series for a half hour episode

which falls perfectly in line for when i said that the show is a lead-in to several movies and wont have a proper conclusion.

i was already right about the show being designed to be binged, bet i'm completely right about this, too

This is true. But I guess that want a way to talk about a certain parent... So they can distinguish the 2+...
If they want to talk specifically about a parent, they could just use their name. I think it's very similar to our pronouns of He/Her/They. There are only three categories there but they work fine just like that and we don't have to create anymore. I feel father/mother/parent should work the same.

edit: I have trouble imagining a scenario where someone gets asked, "Are you this child's parent?" and then that person gets offended by gender insensitivity.

I think it can be both, but I dont think that was the reason for this show. Or for most shows, really. Ben without a cliffhanger, many shows will have people talk in and speculating. IMO, I dont think a good show should have to rely on a cliffhanger to spark discussion about the next episode. And I think even without cliffhangers, people would still be talking about this show, I would think. I think most content these days are made to be binged. And the cliffhangers are more for keeping people coming back. Thats just how I feel about it, though...

For my personal viewing, I dont feel like waiting, so I normally binge everything these days...
I definitely agree that I don't like waiting. Netflix has really spoiled me with binging whole shows in a few days. Whereas WandaVision and Attack on Titan Season 4 are killing me with the wait time between episodes, they do give me something to look forward to each week.

I mean, can't they do both? Provide speculation and bring interest/excitement to watch next week's episode. I think when it comes down to it, the show writers and director obviously knew the format of Disney+ and that format is weekly episodes. It quite literally was made to be an episodic watch. That in addition to the fact that it is heavily inspired by episodic sitcoms which has clearly affected the structure is why I'm agreeing with TDC. Not that any of this really matters in the end. I'm enjoying the show regardless. I just like to debate to pass the time sometimes.

I still don't think it was made to be binge watched. The structure is clearly episodic, especially considering it was inspired by old sitcoms. Just because you want to binge watch it doesn't mean that it was made with that intent, and I'm a huge binge watcher. Most of these episodes have ended with cliffhangers that are meant to spark speculation and discussion. Hard to do that if it is all put out at once.

That's really only half an explanation. Going into trance is a skill that you learn, the more you work at it, the easier it is. You can resist going into trance, somebody else can't force it on you, so if you're determined to "prove" that you can't be hypnotized, you won't be. The hypnotist is more of a guide to help you through the process, and isn't even a necessary part, you do the work of putting yourself into a trance.
Yeah I haven't read much into it at all. I had a professor who told me he practiced self-hypnotism as well. There was something I can't quite put my finger on that made me not like that professor though. He didn't seem genuine or competent at times...

I think maybe a good comparison is like saying you prefer to spend time with people your own age. That doesn't mean you hate old people or children.

Intent matters for dick. A person can try to be honest all they want.

For example, if you ask most people whether they think they are more logical or more emotional and OF COURSE they say logical. Most people want to make rational decisions based on reason and logic, and most people think they do. Watch those same people and you'll notice they are governed way more by their emotions than they think, just like everyone else.

You can say none are supposed to be better or worse, but that's just more BS. First of all, people have preferences. They like certain personalities and they dislike others, and are therefore going to see some of those as better than others, whether they do so consciously or not. Second, I never said they were choosing their fake results, just their probably fake answers.

Personality tests are fun, but dumb. Imagine trying to summarize a complex human being with a couple dozen vague questions.
Lol. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on some things. I don't actually believe a person's entire personality can be summed up by one test, but I think you go a bit overboard with your belief about people's tendency to misrepresent themselves. It might be true for some people, but I'm sure many people can acknowledge that they have less desirable traits. It's not as hard to admit as you make it seem. I mean, you even alluded to that fact yourself when you said that most people act out of emotion. If you can admit that many people act that way, why wouldn't other people be able to? I can admit that I sometimes do. Are you saying most people are incapable of being honest about themselves?

just looking at the questions, i can pretty well guess most people get the results for the person they most want to be, not the person they actually are. i would guess a lot of people will get INTJ or INTP, believing themselves to be highly intelligent and logical, when in reality they are overtly emotional and probably around average intelligence (i mean, aren't most of us?). interesting test, but i would put exactly 0 faith in the results.
I would assume most people would be curious enough to have an actual projection of their personality, so they would be motivated to answer honestly. Getting a result based off lying for this test doesn't do anything for you. There are actual tests that can tell if a person is lying/faking their answers though. Personality categories aren't really considered better or worse than eachother. Theyre just different. Aside from that, this test doesn't measure intelligence at all so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Lol

Well not straight up, I was using that comparison for hyperbole, but I do think its still not a good way of determining someone's personality, there is so much more that goes into someone's personality. There is more than 16 different kinds of people in this world
It doesn't determine someone's exact personality. As you said, there is too much variation in people's personalities for that. It is however a good way to get a good picture of what someone is generally like. They tend to be accurate enough for that purpose. Categories serve all sorts of purposes. We use them to describe pretty much everything: people's political views, genres of music, cultural backgrounds, food groups, etc etc. If someone were to tell me they are a democrat or they only listen to country music, it tells me a little bit about that person. A personality test goes a bit deeper than that and actually has a scientific basis. 16 types of personalities is pretty broad. Try taking it. If anything for just a bit of fun and to see if you agree with the results.
