If you are okay with more story than action they can be pretty good.

I like a good story, but I think my attention span has worsened as I've gotten access to a larger backlog of games to play. I'll usually spend an hour scrolling through to figure out a game to play. Then I'll choose one, make it through 10 minutes of it and decide to do something else.

It was some study. I don't remember the specifics but it was done across different countries and age groups. My only take away was that 14 seemed about average for someone around my age (33).

I Googled it and the average seems to be around 14 for men give or take. But, who knows how accurate that is.

I've been back and forth between buying the first 2 xenoblade games. I just haven't been finishing any games I buy lately so it's hard for me to justify it. I'm like 20 something hours into SMT V and haven't played much anymore.

I'm short. 5'5" and wear a size 8 shoe. Lol

Things I wish someone would have told me when I got out of school:

1. You haven't 'arrived', you are just getting started.
2. Make sure you spend some significant time working on your job interview skills. The worst thing you can do is just wing it. This is super-easy today because you have a resource like Youtube.
3. It takes about 2-5 years of experience in most fields before you really have a clue what you are doing or what your chosen career really entails.

I've actually been working in my field or at least a field adjacent to what my degree is in. I've got 6 years of experience and am going to stay with my current employer and take on new duties. I still enjoy it so far so I'm sure I'm in the right career. I am always thinking forward to what other options are open to me though. I don't think it's ever too late to try something new.

Reddit has been my new addiction. If it's not one thing, it's another. I only hang on to at least one social media app so i can stay connected to friends and family.

0 ads is good enough for me. I was just getting annoyed at instagram an hour ago because of all the ads and suggested posts it seems to have now. It wasn't like that the last time I went on. I guess on the upside, I will spend less time on it.

What was it about your school experience that you didn't like? Was it the social aspect, or something about the educational part?

I'm finally going to be done. Next week is the last week of my program and for the first time ever, I'm not thinking about what's next for school. I don't think I'm ever going back. It's not that I didn't enjoy it, I'm just tired. It's going to feel so good to finally just have to worry about work and have more time to do the things I want to do. My girlfriend wants to go on a vacation somewhere out of the country. What is a good country to visit at this time though? Covid is still fucking everything up for the most part.

Going outside can help. Like just going to sit at the park or something and look at the things around you and feel the fresh air. If you read, you can read a book at the park. It's the simple things.

I've never played any FF game, though I have a 3DS with the first 6 of them.

Tbh, I dont know the actually the number Its high, but that because I became really promiscuous for a few years. New partners every week (with some that definitely returned) I dont even always remember all of them Sometimes, Ill just remember another person I hooked up with once Its kind of bad, but it was full while it lasted

It's the easiest way of staying connected to people who you don't talk to much anymore. You never know when you might want to reach out to someone, or someone might want to reach out to you. Other than that, it's not really important. I use facebook like once a year and post on instagram occasionally.

One of the first girls I dated had been with 20 or so men prior to me. I had only been with one other girl at the time iirc. While we talked about it, she got very self-conscious and started crying because she felt bad about sleeping with as many guys as she did. I had to comfort her about it. It mattered to her more than it did to me.

Being able to acknowledge that minorities and marginalized groups of people are at a disadvantage in various ways is good.

Getting bent out of shape over Steve Martin making a goofy King Tut skit 40+ years ago is bad.

This. People define "woke" very differently.

The trick is to find some common ground. Acknowledge that you can see why they believe what they do and that part of it makes sense from their personal experience and perspective. Then just say that from your experiences, you have found something different to be true.

Although I guess that is de-escalation rather than argumentation...

That's what I assumed, but I'm never here anymore so I don't know if there are "new" regulars.

17 for me. Though, I usually frequented PotD. CE at least seems like it is still active.

I still check back every once in a while, but I doubt I'll ever become as active as I used to be. I wonder what the average age of active PotDers is these days. I'm guessing it is much older now than it was in the 00's and early 10's.

Heck, you don't even owe them that, in many cases. That's often more a matter of common courtesy than an actual requirement. If you don't need the reference, can afford to burn the bridge, and there's nothing explicit in your employment contract, you can just walk out.

Good point. Personally, I never really try to burn bridges anywhere I work. You never know when a good reference would come in handy.

You don't owe your job anything other than a 2 week notice, so I say go for it. Good luck!
