Aside from the different gachas I play, I pay very little attention to anything else game related.

I play a mix of new and old. Newer stuff is more commonly Indies, but major publisher games that aren't too... egregious I still enjoy. It's the gacha and other monetization efforts that push me away from a lot of currently trendy games.

A lot of the games I play are newer indie games. I haven't played a console since 7th gen and I don't keep up with triple A games.

Nah, there's still plenty of modern games I go balls deep in. It's probably like 50% modern and 50% retro

Part of it is because I have no real way to play newer things (having no PS5, no new Xbox, no PC, etc.), but it's also because very little seems to jump out at me these days. I love my gacha games, though, so outside of a few things, I don't often feel like I'm missing out... that being said, I'm desperate to play VII Rebirth (as I am a giant fan of the original), so I'm feeling salty right around now.

The current generation has no purpose unless you like weak gameplay surrounded by needless fluff, and the best thing about last generation are the retro ports from companies like M2 and Hamster.

How longs the PS4 been out? 10 years? I've bought 5 games in that time.

Back in the day I was buying at least 6 games per year. But microtransactions, DLC and in-game ads are a complete turnoff. Made me draw up a list of deal breakers, and now suddenly the games industry has lost out.

What consoles do you own TC?

I at least keep up with news so I know what discussions to avoid.

I'm just not feeling how modern gaming is for the most part.
Even RPGs are turning down a road I don't care for... a few diamonds like BG3 and Rogue Trader but they are few and far between.

I certainly find myself playing less new games.
Not because I'm over gaming, but because most new releases are so uninspiring and generic.
Haven't played anything new since Cyberpunk expansion.

Will get Horizon PC release, first game was very good.
