Scarcity is a flaw of physical items, that flaw inherent to being physically manufactured is just what gives it monetary value (not to be confused with, actually being a cool thing) because there is no other option, if you want [thing] you have literally no other choice: there's a certainly supply and demand determines its price. I would be absolutely *thrilled* if there was an infinite supply of physical items so I could actually find things I'd love to get but that's not how reality works. Like fuck imagine a world that wasn't endlessly screwed over by scalpers? That's magical.

Artificially enforcing a limited supply of an infinite digital item just to create a specular market off of is yes, fucking horrifying. You're already free from that shit, why would you try to emulate the flaws of physical?

*edit* and just to note, the flaw of physical scarcity is why I fucking love 3D printing technology because conceptually it's the very reverse: the capability to reproduce physical items so that they're no longer constrained by a limited supply (beyond printing material)

It's Tales of Link that lasted 2 years (on Global). Rays barely lasted over a year on Global, but it's still going strong in Japan.

Most comments about a sequel are at least saying Lana isn't interested in doing another (although that strikes me as bizarre given how much this one is asking for it).

Then again in this very movie among the early meta-commentary they literally joke about Warner Brothers forcing Neo to make a sequel saying if he wouldn't they'd get someone else

yeah I liked it, definitely better than 3 but I think I'll slot it in-between that & 2 - noting however it does have a few points over Reloaded, but just can't compare with its climactic action sequences.

Early in I was enjoying the blatant meta commentary about the Matrix past and even present but it really is a bit too on the nose for a bit too long. I wish it didn't take a full hour to free Neo, and at that point I didn't really have much of an idea where this was supposed to be headed.

Wasn't sure how to feel about Smith... for the most part I wish they didn't bother and put that focus onto Neil Patrick Harris instead... although in the Simulatte scene NPH is a bit of a let-down and I enjoy Smith intervening. His involvement though is one of the few reasons this movie DEFINITELY feels like it's begging for a sequel despite comments denying it.

Which of course leads into Trinity, another reason this movie really doesn't feel like an end as she really doesn't get to do anything until the end and when she does she's kicking ass and you want more of it... but then it's the end. I do think however this movie had a legitimately touching Neo-Trinity moment, yes on the rooftop, as quite honestly I've never really cared about the couple until here even though they's always been so central to all the movies.

NuMorpheus is meh which is kinda sad, but I really like Colleen Wing. When the movie started with her and Morpheus I was kinda into the idea that I could totally see a non-Neo centered Matrix movie, while knowing of course that's not what this was going to be. For Morpheus though there's absolutely zero pay-off for him "being" some sort of Morpheus program, and the bit about mixing in some Smith had even less relevance.

Overall I was honestly more interested and engaged with the plot than 2 or 3 although I don't think it really follows through well (namely as I mentioned about Neil Patrick Harris). Action scenes as people say aren't amazing, the Morpheus spar just falls flat against the original and they really just get Neo doing the same bursting hands move as he starts readjusting himself to fighting... it's like the only thing he can do. Climax scene escaping Simulatte was enjoyable at least (although Bot Bombs was ridiculous lmao).

Like I said this movie really feels a lot like it needs a follow-up, even with how much Zion used to be a torture to sit through in the past I'm pretty interested in the new home cooperating with some machines which this didn't really get to show off well enough.

Reloaded could be my favourite if you cut it down to just the action sequences, because my god I love them.

But honestly the first 40 minutes (I checked the timestamp with my recent watch-through) are incredibly boring outside of the opening fight (which isn't as good as the rest), maybe Morpheus's speech, and ofc Agent Smith absorption. After that 40 minutes though it's a pretty great ratio of awesome to bad filled up largely with big action set pieces.

Revolutions... I like but it's got massive problems. Even just the first 20 minutes feel like an an unnecessary pause in the story to warp Neo into the train station and then just... go pick him up and we're back to business.

The biggest problem with Revolutions though is thinking I give the slightest shit about no-name Zion infantry which of course leads into the main complaint everyone has about the Zion fight.

they're pretty similar. they both have some interesting ideas and cool action and visual effects, but overall, they're somewhat poorly directed and vastly inferior to the original.

Watching both movies since yesterday, while they absolutely feel like a two-part tv series bit unlike the first movie, they're both still radically different individually. Reloaded absolutely excels at a whole bunch of action scenes (and yes, Neo Superman) all over the place which is very much not the case in Revolutions which doesn't even have Neo seeing any action until 40 minutes in, stripped away from the Matrix without his crazy superpowers (for the most part). It isn't even until the last half hour we get the final fight and by that point there's really been nothing else, even Morpheus & Trinity just had a very basic fight in the beginning of the movie and that's about it. Ain't no Katana Morpheus here that's for sure. Revolutions just really doesn't do the one thing Reloaded did really well.

Crestoria's story was great but I never really liked the gameplay, and the gem rates were just really bad for me so I got back into DFFOO instead which I've been pretty consistent on since July/August now, which I think is a record length of time for me to stay engaged!
