he came down here a couple two nights ago, something about his laptop being broken (reminder, MY laptop I lent out 2 years ago) but I don't understand what he's coming here to do about it because nobody can afford a new one and I don't even think he brought the old to get repaired.

anyways, point of the post, is this morning 10am I wake up to the sound of him screaming his lungs out at gdad, stomping on the floor, smashing at the window, yelling "HIT ME, IT HURTS LESS" and "DOES THIS LOOK LIKE I'M JUST COMPLAINING"

I couldn't gather much else of the context, amazingly gdad didn't respond back with yelling but it sounded like he just backed away and things went quiet. If I were to make an educated guess I would assume gdad was asking if he got a job, gbro responded with his whining about minorities again, and that would make sense of gdad accusing gbro of complaining which set him off to explode because he has an absolute hair trigger to lash out these days

for example I didn't realize at the time, but in the last update i made about him showing up at a family gathering at gmoms last month, when he got in that same tirade about minorities, complaining about Pride (which is when I left to go upstairs with gniece), the argument continued between gsis/gcousin/gmom v gbro and it resulted in him throwing 2 wine glasses at the wall -- so yeah, hair trigger that I choose to stay away from

Pretty certain I've heard about this story already, like the current article says it's a 3-year ongoing battle that's still going on.... looking up, I see an independent Journalist on the south reporting on it start of June, daily kos picked it up in the middle of the month which is probably the one I saw.

man I looked up and understood Hellraiser 8 (Hellworld) was an original script then tacked on to Hellraiser but wow it was REALLY just tacked on

it's just some beyond stupid party (that turns out to be an induced hallucination) where people are given a mask and a phone supposedly to hook up with others you call, but like everyone is repeatedly taking off their masks for the camera it's like why tf is this a thing, and the phones, dudes, it's a party with blaring music and people are supposed to be attentive to their phones during a party?

and then the kills are more like Jigsaw traps and completely unrelated to any Cenobites, some randomly appear during a killing but the big "reveal" is that the whole thing is just a revenge plot by the creepy middle-aged host and there is no party, the victims were drugged and buried alive (with a breathing tube) to hallucinate their own punishments

after the movie is all wrapped is when the puzzle box is actually discovered, the Cenobites just show up and kill the host and that's the grand total of their actual existence in this entire thing

this is the worst one yet

*edit* oh yeah and the surviving two were saved by a ghost calling the police to share the location they've been buried for days

heavy episode for 1-on-1 confrontations but I loved them, especially with the people involved. lmao yeah I heard that Shyamalan had to pitch this as weakly related but oops I didn't know the relation was the twist of the movie. the whole thing works perfectly fine without the connection at all it's just kinda tacked on there, but with Glass being named after y'know, Mr. Glass and prominently featuring Sam Jackson I take it the next one is as direct as it gets

maybe I spoiled myself by knowing, but I can't imagine seeing that reveal and getting like a mind-blown reaction because it doesn't feel relevant for this movie, it's more like an MCU post-credits scene about hyping up the next one

though didn't expect the movie to end with the beast getting away, but then i guess that's the only way to actually set-up a face-off for the sequel. kinda makes this feel like a long set-up then, but hey it had more going on than Unbreakable in the first place which was more of a really good 30 minutes story stretched over 2 hours

also anya taylor-joy looks so much younger after seeing The Menu, I don't think I was really aware of the actress before Mario.

Devil: okay this is the first decent one I've run into in a while so i can't help but lol it's the one he didn't direct
