What you come to find out about the weapons, is that they are so plentiful that there is no reason to worry about them breaking or hoarding them. And if there are weapons that you REALLY like you can store a few of them eventually.

The only problem I really had with weapon breaking was that I'd find so many weapons I wanted to keep that it took up all my inventory space. Ever since I've upped my inventory where I can hold a bunch of stuff and carry around a number of usable weapons I really don't give a damn about breaking things, and I actually really enjoy it.

yeah it takes a bit of getting used to... and takes a few inventory expansions to truly get over



But speaking of expansions, god I love stumbling upon Korok seeds. Right now just on some hill and these water chus pop up so I think oh just some enemies here I'll take care of 'em

Like there's also a sprinkle of fancy lookin' flowers but they're spread out so I think nothing of it... until I walk over one and it blooms and I'm like wtf why did that happen, thinking maybe the chuus watered them and I O_O'd.......... Lntil I realized as I walked away it un-blossomed so I had to investigate further. After a while of realizing it doesn't ALWAYS unblossom as I walk away, I realized it only does that when I cross over other flowers and figured out I had to walk over them in order. The fact that I only noticed this because the initial flower is in a position where you'd naturally walk into other flowers as you leave just made me think of the age-old SMB1-1 game design story of hitting the first Mushroom ?-Block and players accidentally realizing it's a good thing because of the tight space you're in

I'm happy Vlado pointed out the lying of critics so I could read great reviews like this:

"Zelda really ought to move faster, especially on his snowboard. It's too slow and boring. Nintendo is wasting my time by making me wait for their slow animations to complete. Do they think I have all day? I don't, and I'm not about to waste what little free time I have on watching this slow character plod about in a way that only serves to artificially extend the games length.

It's also really hard to be immersed in the Zelda universe when he can climb up completely flat surfaces by grabbing non-existent hand holds. It's gotten so bad I actually have to pretend to grab the rougher bricks and act as if I will fall if I grab the flat surfaces. I shouldn't have to go to this much effort to make the game work in a realistic way.

I, too, am upset that Link realistically moves slowly, he needs to move more unrealistically fast. I also am upset that he climbs unrealistically, he needs to climb more realistically.

user reviews for a huge game like this in the first number of days of release just screams unreliable either way that they lean, I mean I have been playing since launch essentially nonstop (hey I'm on holidays) but I can't fathom giving it any "rating" with so much more to do

Also I really do love how intact the OoT layout is. I mean Hyrule Field is straight up Hyrule Field even with remnants of the Lon Lon Ranch, and then the castle, Gerudo Desert / Death Mountain / Zora's Domain, and even Lake Hylia are more-or-less where they should be. Just the Lost Woods kinda throwing things off but the Faron Woods kinda take its place while linking over to TP's Hyrule. And speaking of yes I always loved how TP had the small central Hyrule Field as well.

bahahah was just going through the Hyrule Field area again and there was some bokoblin or w/e chasing me on a horse

I just used Stasis+ on him and he freezes in air as the horse keeps running. I enjoyed that too much.

I roam around pretty aimlessly and if a place looks interesting I try making my way over there and if it was tough I usually try to find some landmark or shrine nearby so I can come back easy

and man shrines where the challenge is to open the shrine are the absolute best shrines omg

I've probably had the game longer than anyone but I've still done like none of the main story and I'm loving it. I don't even do that much side-quests, I just roam the lands.

I mean I can see how it can be seen as empty but I'm just exploring every nook and enjoying it. Not even on a horse for like 95% of the time, basically rock-climbing and gliding.

Woahhh speaking of eventide, I just realized with the durians I picked up there. Cooked a single durian, get full recover food with +4 yellow hearts... so easy. So Eventide gives super easy money making and super good food farming.


Also the maze place way up northeast was really easy, and afterwards in the basement a bunch of weakened Guardians to farm screws off of. Lots of wrecked ones to simply search/pickup ancient screws/whatever from, but the Guardians that are alive down there are still battered and immobile, thus easy to take out. I took one out with some moblin club because he couldn't even target me with his beam!

and I love choppin' off legs with the ancient battle axe++

Has anybody been to Eventide Island? When you get there all of your equipment is taken away until you complete the trial. I'm having heck of a time figuring it out and it's extra mean because you can't save while you're there. I got decently far and then made a bit of a slip-up. Now I'm back to the beginning again! And what in the name of the Goddess am I supposed to do about the Hinox? Good grief!

After beating it there's some bird man that gives you a glider challenge, costs 20 rupees, if you clear 30 rings you get 100... so profit 80. If you clear 20 you at least get your 20 rupees back.

I'm not so sure if you can get ruin things by doing endgame earlier since whatever overpowered gear you get isn't gonna last your forever

BotW's equipment durability basically keeps you "leveled" to whatever area you're in as far as I can say... sans hearts/stam
