I was only watching it because I wanted to play all the TT Lego games, but now I'm just legitimately invested. They use the episodic structure to their advantage; sure, there are some episodes that just do "wow look at all those laser sword people doing flippy kicks" stories but often there are arcs focused more on, like, characters. It's brave enough to challenge the audience with questions that have no correct answer; they've got an entire friggin' arc about soldiers who, as a group, have to choose between following the orders of a superior that they know will get most of them killed or committing treason by disobeying, with the surviving members by the end making critical realizations about their own identity based on the decisions they make, with some REALLY dark moments along the way. And apparently the show was succeeded by a sequel with four seasons (and is ending next month), so even after I finish this I'll have plenty more to look forward to. I've seen people regard the Satellaview version of Zelda as a remake, but I've also seen gameplay video of it that looks like a fairly different game (kind of like a "third quest"). There were multiple Satellaview Zeldas; was this the one you were looking at?  Rockies posted... The Mario Advance/All-Stars versions were just enhanced ports, I think, They literally remade the games from scratch, though they are extremely similar in gameplay and level design to the NES originals. But if it weren't possible to die, there would be no opportunity to avoid death, which is itself fun. The durability system is the same: it is a mechanic that is inherently detrimental to the player, but the mechanic's existence allows for gameplay revolving around overcoming its negative impact. (Don't answer that) It's sorely needed for most the collections they've been doing. The Disney Afternoon collection, for example, featured games that hadn't even been available since the NES era. And for Street Fighter it's ESPECIALLY important. While the games have gotten releases, they've been very spotty on all sorts of different consoles with version differences to keep in mind. The really big sites would be able to pay, and thus your viewing of them would be unchanged. Not counting the fact the big sites, now without competition, would have no reason to improve from that point on and would be prone to stagnation. | Gamechamp3k 12/05/17 12:59:01 AM #23 | First game is an early attempt at a stealth FPS that ended up turning out really wonky and not that good, but is at least worth playing since it's a unique playstyle that you don't see very often. Instincts + Predator are both great, though are more generic FPS games no different from any other on the market from the time period. Far Cry 2 is polarizing; it's one of my favorite games of all time, for its harsh, open-ended nature, mixed in with more casual elements for finding diamonds and unlocking gear. The buddy system is a major highlight, which unfortunately no other game has tried to replicate. Far Cry 3 does a complete 180 from 2 and is basically just a series of waypoints on a map you need to walk to. Everything inbetween those waypoints will automatically die if you look at them funny. The only fun parts are the story missions, and even then it doesn't reach very high peaks. Blood Dragon is just more of the same as Far Cry 3 though with a more overt comedic tone, and I don't think it pulls it off very well. Haven't played the rest of the games yet. It's also worth noting that Crysis is the spiritual successor to the first game. If you're interested in a full series exploration, it's worth looking at, though every game after Predator has almost nothing in common with Far Cry 1 other than the name on the box and "there's like jungles in this game maybe" so it's not the most relevant when looking at the recent games. --- http://i.imgur.com/ES0IWHz.jpg Kuro-channnnnnn... <3 |

It's certainly not the best-designed game and the world feels like a giant soulless void, but it was a rewarding grindfest that didn't overly emphasize multiplayer aspects like most MMOs these days. It was a single-player game where other players just so happened to simultaneously exist, which is how I like it. Also it's pretty unique in that it was an officially-backed MMO unofficially inspired by a fan-made crossover webcomic which is like how incredible and out of nowhere is that?
