I wanted to invest in it regularly a few years ago, setting up monthly automatic purchases, but a few months in I took some unexpected simultaneous financial hits so stopped, but left around $80 worth in there.

Now it's worth $1,200 bucks. At this point I've decided to just leave it in there and see what happens~

While that certainly would be awesome, I can't see Nintendo investing in a localization of such obscure old games for a VC release. Look at how long it's taking for a certain other VC release the gaming community has been begging for since before it even came out in Japan.

One thing that gets glossed over: America had already been targeting civilians with napalm bombings way before the nukes. The nukes took center stage because they were the more extravagant show of power.

It's important to note the one jump was NOT Toadette; there's a trick to talk to NPCs without incrementing the jump counter. The one jump is from elsewhere in the run.

Either I accidentally jumped, or there's something else that triggers jumps we're not certain about. My bet is on the third time Mario is laying on the ground and you're forced to press the jump button to get up. The first two times Mario has unique animations, but the third time he seems to do a totally normal jump.

The VERY FIRST game is a capumon adaptation with heavy emphasis on breeding the monsters, which both raises their stats and allows them to evolve. Of course, to complete the game, you'll need to figure out how to breed 'em all. There's over 100.

There are no guides online that I can find.

This is going to take a while. ;-;

The one hope I have is that an official strategy guide was released when the game came out. It's 100 yen on Amazon, and 30 bucks on ebay. <-<

EDIT: Oh, yay, managed to find a guide! In Japanese, but as long as I have one, the game is at least possible. B]

The whole idea of "speak with your wallet" is that you can choose not to buy something.

But the idea of net neutrality is that something like the internet is considered a utility: a basic requirement for everybody to have, which most do not have the option to simply not have. You CAN'T speak with your wallet if you can't go without internet, which in the modern world becomes more and more a fact of life.

PS4 controller. I prefer the PS3 controller for 2D games, but the PS4's d-pad is only mildly less comfortable. It more than makes up for it with the vastly improved analog stick and shoulder trigger designs.

I LOVED the season 6 finale, and I'm sad most people didn't like it. It's a cliffhanger done right: it ends at exactly the moment all hope is lost, thematically sealing the season.

The poison mushrooms are easy enough to avoid that, logically, if the player touches one it's because THEY didn't think they were poisonous. In-canon, Mario is only aware the mushrooms are poisonous if the player demonstrates they are also aware.

Critical success is hardly worth anything to publishers, they look for financial success. Federation Force sold abysmally, as I expect Survive to for similar reasons.

Regardless of the game's quality, they're trying to sell it based on the name on the box art with fundamentally no tangible relation to said name, having only surface-level relation by way of having the same engine and setting as MGSV.

And to top it off: they're trying to sell a Metal Gear game so soon after they showed tremendous disrespect to an icon whose reputation is inherently linked with Metal Gear. In the Metal Gear community, Konami is recognized as antagonists. You don't buy video games from antagonists.

For me, it's because figuring out what to do is one of the most important aspects of games. Pressing the buttons isn't the goal, it's figuring out what buttons to press. If someone just tells you what to do, you're not really playing the game any more. At least not in its full capacity.

One thing I feel needs to be noted: the game feels to be designed around perfectionist runs, beating each boss with a perfect score. It's only while doing those that the game feels like any kind of challenge: just beating the levels doesn't even really require learning their patterns since they usually die pretty fast.

Also, I feel the need to mention this everywhere I go: don't bother getting A+ on the Run N Gun levels. The devs forgot to make it possible. Like, literally, they didn't type in the criteria for A+ correctly on a couple of them. Just get the coins and move on. Don't do what I did and waste a couple hours getting increasingly frustrated wondering what you could possibly do to shave off more time.

Major warning: it's impossible to get an A+ rank in two of the Run N Gun levels. The devs apparently just... forgot to include a goal time, so you can never satisfy the time requirement. I wasted hours on one of them.

It's sooooo goooood, like, I'm in awe, I kind of expected it to be a super easy silly little straight beat-it-and-it's-done thing, but they went and did the ranking system which adds so much to it, ensuring that it challenges even people who are already familiar with the genre. Working my way on A+ing each level as I go through, only skipped a couple because the timer seemed ridiculous strict and I'm hoping there's an upgrade that helps with speed later.

My one gripe is requiring 3 parries for the A+ is a bit annoying since whether or not a shot is parryable is usually RNG. It seems like they're trying to justify the parry mechanic's existence by making it required in every fight. I think just one or two would be better since 3 is pushing the line of the RNG, it absolutely feels like on some bosses there's a good chance you'll kill them before they even shoot a third pink shot (which almost happened once: the boss died within a second of firing the third shot. I could have gotten it if I immediately stopped firing, but I was too late).

(it is worth noting it does still seem a bit on the easy side, even when going for perfection, just for the fact each individual fight is so short and doesn't require THAT much precision. Hopefully the lategame will offer longer fights.)

Found an alternative method involving running windows 3.1 through DOSbox. A little bit of time figuring out how it works, but now it works flawlessly and buttery smooth.

I'm recording footage of games that don't work on modern operating systems, using a Windows XP virtual machine with Virtualbox, and the video for it is really choppy. It doesn't matter if the machine is doing anything, even just moving the mouse on the desktop is noticeably low framerate. When I google around there's advice on improving general performance in a VM, but none of it has any effect and I'm thinking it's actually some kind of hard limit set on Virtualbox itself.

If push comes to shove I'll accept the choppy video if there's no way around it, but I can't help but thinking there's a really simple option I can toggle somewhere that will stop limiting the framerate and I just haven't found it.
