The context of these remarks seems to boil down to (and im going to paraphrase) "The Russian government wields a lot of influence in the Russian Orthodox church and can use that influence in bad ways"

It has nothing to do in that context with trump himself.

Now i don't know enough about the connections between the Russian church and the Russian government, so that could bear some looking into. But if accurate i don't see anything antisemitic about his remarks. Nor does it carry the connotations that your breitbart link seems to claim.

Like even if you want to ignore ALL of that you have to admit that its a matter of public record that Page:

A) Went to Moscow in July 2016

B) Was outspoken against US policies and in favor of Russia

C) Met with prominent Russian officials.

Even if you ignore anything else as irrelevant that alone can justify surveillance.

Meanwhile, my own investigation has turned up what's most likely contained in the memo. In short:
1. DNC pay a company called Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Trump
2. Fusion GPS hire an ex-British spy called Christopher Steele, who supposedly has "Kremlin sources"
3. Fake "golden shower" dossier gets produced, Steele himself thinks it's probably nonsense, but hey, gotta earn his pay somehow, passes it over anyway
4. Fusion GPS enthusiastically pass it over to DNC
5. Obama admin uses the FAKE dossier as an excuse to request FISA warrant on the entire Trump campaign
6. Obama admin-appointed judiciary approves warrant despite ZERO hard evidence on the dossier (gee, isn't it comfy to be a de-facto dictator?)
7. Alphabets start sniffing
8. Naturally, they find nothing (Clapper said as much in the testimony - NO DIRECT EVIDENCE OF POLITICAL COLLUSION BETWEEN THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN AND THE RUSSIANS:

1. Fusion GPS was first hired by conservatives to dig dirt on trump during the primary. But after trump becomes the frontrunner and favorite to take the nomination they stop funding fusion and DNC pick up where they left off. This seems fine to me.

2. It is true that Steele's involvement began during this dnc funded time yes.

3. The dossier is primarily about Page's trip to Moscow. The implication that Trump is potentially being blackmailed by Russia for things he may have done is irrelevant so you can leave the "golden shower" out of this.

So you can argue if you want about the morality of the process of government surveillance, but nothing about this usage of it is in violation.

8. Indictments have been issued to Manafort and Gates. Papadopoulos has taken a plea deal presumably for cooperation. Flynn is somewhere in the mix as well. These things have not just happened for no reason. No they haven't made all their evidence public, but that is standard procedure for a ongoing investigation.

And anyways how much indirect evidence of collusion do you need to see before you will be willing to admit that there might be some direct evidence in existence?

There is certainly enough to justify surveillance which is the bottom line for this situation.

So all signs point to "The Memo" containing information that the FISA surveillance on Carter Page was extended.

I'm really failing to see the problem here.

There was enough evidence that Page required surveillance to begin with.

The surveillance was going to lapse and needed to be renewed again.

So they applied to have it renewed.

The only "controversy" seems to be that some (not all, but some) of the evidence in favor of renewal was from the Steele dossier.

The idea being that "omg we were spying on americans, that's bad!" when the crux of the issue is actually "omg this american was doing things that justified surveillance".

Am I missing something here?

Definitely no html, but now I'm curious if it is in fact a size limit thing. But there is no mention of a size limit and it would be easy to clear that up if that was the case.
