Personally support keeping it at the size of last contest - 192, if only for az's sanity. Big fan of the suggested change of being able to apply doubles however you want. Agree with cako/Nickit on that keeping the songs at 192 allows people to listen to a wider variety of songs.

Also - giving my personal opinion as to 'how do you listen to songs in VGMC', I put them on and listen to them in the background. Agree that people tend to notice more detail in a song the more you listen to it, but from my perspective - I've burnt out halfway through my ranking trying to enforce this on myself by listening to each song three times; and I believe it should be a personal choice done out of enjoyment; not something you're locked into via a personal ruleset.
tl;dr of the above paragraph: don't force yourself to listen super-close to every song if it stresses you out.

feral amalgamation is one of my least favorite calamity tracks, though this isn't to imply it's bad. every day is night, on the other hand, is one of my favorite songs on the va-11 hall-a ost.

.execute vs dummy! is a difficult match but .execute is more DRUM AND BASS COOL

blue water blue sky is an iconic song to me for multiple reasons. first off, it's a fighting game song - and when i was a kid i used to invest myself in mugen videos a LOT so it's really nostalgic. second, the general style reminds me of team nekokan and this is yet again another good thing, as i listened to a lot of nekokan when i was a kid. finally, it's one of the few fighting game songs i know to appear in a mega man romhack - rock man 2 deus ex machina. it's just a heavily nostalgic song on all parts for me. i love songs that represent 'freedom' and this does it very well.

madness reminds me of streets of rage 2.

ok, so. on topic of plok! nom. 1-3 were obvious. 4-6 + alt were not as much but fleapit, cotton island, and on the rocks are all tracks that stand out to me. every track has its own energy on the plok! ost and part of my reasoning was not only tracks that stood out but diversity among those tracks - cotton island's is this wacky go-nuts ready for adventure vibe that i really get into - vaguely like music for a cyriak video.

having heard the noms, i feel that groovin up is probably going to win this match because it's VERY CATCHY but i'm still gonna vote cotton island anyways because it's one of my favorite osts, i love practically every track from it; and i admire follin's ability to use the spc700. i agree with deo in that this match is basically a toss-up though.

Another Winter should be higher than #6, seeing as its one of the more favorable songs from this soundtrack. Id suggest somewhere in the top 3.
I would also strongly recommend including Cheap Shop seeing as its one of the more unique songs of the soundtrack. Leave The Past Behind is probably the weakest song here, so maybe choose that one to replace.

Actually disagree on the Another Winter changes. It ended up as 6 cause of prioritization, basically. Also, having a 'favorable song' in the weaker tiers doesn't hurt. Another Winter is pretty emblematic of the OST but I don't think it's necessarily the strongest song on it.

More importantly, I don't think Another Winter could compete with songs in the Top 3. I do recognize it's probably the most popular song on the soundtrack though, which is why I included it in the first place. I'll move it up a spot.

However, I do agree with changing to Cheap Shop. Actually considered it at one point but wasn't sure what to replace.
