A Pennsylvania woman strangled her 11-year-old son to death with his fathers belt in his sleep because she did not want him to experience financial problems growing up, authorities said, according to The Daily Voice. Prosecutors charged Ruth DiRienzo Whitehead, 50, the day after they said cops found her all the way over in New Jersey, where her car was found partially submerged in the ocean.

Prosecutors in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, said that the childs father told police he woke up Tuesday morning to find the master bedroom mysteriously blocked and his son Matthew Whitehead dead inside. He called 911. Officers with the Horsham Township Police Department responded at 7:06 a.m. to the home at the 500 block of Privet Road.

Prosecutors said Whitehead had spent the night with his mother in the master bedroom.

According to authorities, the father said his wifes black Toyota Highlander was missing from the garage.

Horsham Township is more than a half-hour drive from Pennsylvanias border with New Jersey, but authorities claim they discovered the mother and her vehicle at the very southern tip of the Garden State. City Manager Mike Voll of Cape May, New Jersey, told Law&Crime that a passerby found the vehicle at 3:30 a.m.

While police were still in the family home, Cape May, N.J. police found the wifes SUV partially submerged in the ocean just off Beach Avenue in Cape May, the Montgomery County DAs office said.

Officers ran the plate and discovered the vehicle was sought in connection to a homicide in Pennsylvania, Voll said. Police in the neighboring city of Wildwood Crest found the mother at a local residence, he told Law&Crime.

Authorities reportedly said they found ligature marks on the front and back of Matthew Whiteheads neck. He showed facial swelling and petechiae on his eyes, Montgomery County DA Kevin Steele said.

Investigators claimed she drove the Highlander into the water in Cape May, then walked over to Wildwood Crest. The family had been experiencing financial problems, officials said.

After each passing year it just gets more and more uneventful.

A really sweet chihuahua. When she brought her home, she was shaking and hot. She wouldnt eat or drink water and her nose running and coughing. So she took her to the vet and come to find out she has pneumonia.

So she had to go to emergency care. They wanted $3000 for her to stay overnight on IVF antibiotics. Unfortunately my mom couldnt pay for it, so they sent her home with antibiotic pills. No idea if this dog will survive. And my mom had to spend over $1000 on vet costs.

My niece loved these games.

So my mom wants to get a dog. I told her to get one thats good with cats (we have 2 cats). What does she and my sister go for?

A Siberian Husky. So I tell her no, theyre one of the worst breeds for a household with cats and that they kill cats. What does she do? Respond what about a pitbull? which infuriated me.

I wake up this morning and I overhear her still talking about getting a husky.

I think shes just intent on getting a breed thats overpopulated at the shelter. But shes not thinking at all about me or the cats.

Hawaii authorities say video shows 33 swimmers harassing wild pod of dolphins

It's against federal law to swim within 50 yards of spinner dolphins in Hawaii's nearshore waters.

HONOLULU -- Hawaii authorities on Tuesday say they have referred 33 people to U.S. law enforcement after the group allegedly harassed a pod of wild dolphins in waters off the Big Island.

It's against federal law to swim within 50 yards (45 meters) of spinner dolphins in Hawaii's nearshore waters. The prohibition went into effect in 2021 amid concerns that so many tourists were swimming with dolphins that the nocturnal animals weren't getting the rest they need during the day to be able to forage for food at night.

The rule applies to areas within 2 nautical miles (3.7 kilometers) of the Hawaiian Islands and in designated waters surrounded by the islands of Lanai, Maui and Kahoolawe.

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources said in a news release that its enforcement officers came upon the 33 swimmers in Honaunau Bay on Sunday during a routine patrol.

Aerial footage shot by drone shows snorkelers following dolphins as they swim away. The department said its video and photos showed swimmers "who appear to be aggressively pursuing, corralling and harassing the pod."

Enforcement officers contacted the group while they were in the water, and told them about the violation. Uniformed officers met the swimmers on land where state and federal officials launched a joint investigation.

Hawaii's spinner dolphins feast on fish and small crustaceans that surface from the ocean's depths at night. When the sun rises, they head for shallow bays to hide from tiger sharks and other predators.

To the untrained eye, the dolphins appear to be awake during the day because they're swimming.

But because they sleep by resting half of their brains and keeping the other half awake to surface and breathe, they may be sleeping even when they're maneuvering through the water.

Lindsay Lohan, Jake Paul, Ne-Yo and rapper Lil Yachty are among the eight notable names who have been hit with Securities and Exchange Commissioncharges for violating securities laws in touting crypto currencies.

The SEC on Wednesday disclosed that charges were filed against eight celebrities in connection with the broader investigation of crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun and three of his companies: Tron Foundation Limited, BitTorrent Foundation Ltd., and Rainberry Inc., which marketed crypto asset securities under the brand names Tronix (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT).

The eight boldface names were charged with illegally touting TRX and/or BTT without disclosing that they were compensated for doing so and the amount of their compensation, according to the SEC.

The list also includes rapper Soulja Boy, singers Austin Mahone and Akon, and adult film star Kendra Lust. All but Mahone and Soulja Boy (aka DeAndre Cortez Way) have reached settlements with the SEC that involve more than $400,000 in disgorgement, interest, and penalties to settle the charges, without admitting or denying the SECs findings, per the SEC.

This case demonstrates again the high risk investors face when crypto asset securities are offered and sold without proper disclosure, said SEC chair Gary Gensler. As alleged, Sun and his companies not only targeted U.S. investors in their unregistered offers and sales, generating millions in illegal proceeds at the expense of investors, but they also coordinated wash trading on an unregistered trading platform to create the misleading appearance of active trading in TRX. Sun further induced investors to purchase TRX and BTT by orchestrating a promotional campaign in which he and his celebrity promoters hid the fact that the celebrities were paid for their tweets.

The SEC complaint, filed in New Yorks Southern District federal court, accuses Sun of instructing the eight celebrities to not disclose that they were being paid to tout TRX and BTT assets on social media platforms.

A representative for Lohan said the actor was unaware of any disclosure obligations.

Lindsay was contacted in March 2022 and was unaware of the disclosure requirement. She agreed to pay a fine to resolve the matter, said spokeswoman Leslie Sloane.

Sun is accused of taking numerous steps to manipulate the market for those currencies through wash trading, which is explained by the SEC as a process that involves the simultaneous or near-simultaneous purchase and sale of a security to make it appear actively traded without an actual change in beneficial ownership.

From April 2018 to February 2019, Sun engaged allegedly directed his employees to engage in more than 600,000 wash trades of TRX between two crypto asset trading platform accounts he controlled, according to the SEC. Sun also generated $31 million in proceeds through secondary market sales of illegal and unregistered sales of the token, per the SEC.

While were neutral about the technologies at issue, were anything but neutral when it comes to investor protection, said Gurbir S. Grewal, director of the SECs Division of Enforcement. As alleged in the complaint, Sun and others used an age-old playbook to mislead and harm investors by first offering securities without complying with registration and disclosure requirements and then manipulating the market for those very securities. At the same time, Sun paid celebrities with millions of social media followers to tout the unregistered offerings, while specifically directing that they not disclose their compensation.

This is the very conduct that the federal securities laws were designed to protect against regardless of the labels Sun and others used.

My mom just keeps going everywhere coughing. And shes been coughing a long time and wont even get it checked by a doctor. My niece, too, keeps coughing but she still keeps going places.

And they keep letting my nieces sick son around grandma who keeps getting sick thanks to them.

Its like they lack common sense. I hate living here now. They make me so frustrated and embarrassed.

Im glad Im a shut-in because if I wasnt I would keep getting terribly sick like them. Probably because I have less exposure.
