2 years is fine. Plus there may be the added thought on her part that her kids need a father figure in their lives. Granted step fathers 99.999% of the time don't give one shit about the new wife's kids and actively act like a compete asshole to them. As I can attest to personally.
But there's that rare chance I suppose that he could be a good "father" to them.

Now if it was like 9 months and she's already pregnant and married to a new guy. That would be too soon. Because I've seen that before in real life and yeah.

Vaccinations need to be made federally mandated at this point. Too may stupid ass people who think they know better than long established medicine. We have medical records. Parents don't get the kid vaccinated. Kid gets taken and parents spend some time in jail and get fined. Period. Punish this stupidity. Idiots putting their own kids at risk as well as the greater public.

I've pointed this out before. Most major cultures/nations in history didn't fall to outside enemies. Their cultures grew so decadent and so arrogant from complacency that it bred dangerous levels of stupidity in their populations that led to their fall from within.
And I swear that's what we're seeing now.

The only thing Ep.IX is going to be, which is the only thing it can be. Is a desperate attempt to throw every piece of nostalgia they have left at the screen that wasn't already butchered by TLJ and hope for gold.

TLJ left the story with nowhere to go. So all this is will be trying to retcon TLJ in one way or the other. And the way I think they're going to do it is by saying it was Palpatine all along.
He controlled or was Snoke. Then give us the backstory as to how that was and thus who Snoke was.
He clouded Luke's mind with the dark side. Explaining away how Luke wasn't Luke and was a would be child murdering scared failure.
He was possessing Ben the whole time. Thus allowing he to be redeemed.
He was responsible for Rey. Either she's a clone, a relative or another virgin birth creation he made. She'll have a lineage and they'll say Kylo was just lying, parroting what she was thinking.
And all of this has been his long game plan since the prequel days.

It's so impossible stupid it has to be what they're going to do. So obviously thrown together for the purpose of trying to make sense of the garbage TLJ was and the nonexistent overall plot in this trilogy.
Think of the dumbest thing you can and that's probably what they're doing. Who gives a shit at this point.
I wouldn't put it past them to throw in time travel too. Make Rey go back and become the first ever Jedi or she hides out in the past becoming Shmi. Something monumentally stupid.

Having played it more times than any other game over the last 20 years.
FFVIII is ALL about limit breaks and abusing the cheat-y brokenness of the combat. Throw 100 Deaths on your status attack junction and very little will stand in your way. Play just a little of the card game and mod them for magics you shouldn't have for a dozen hours more.
Degenerator for the win.
Rinoa sucks in combat. Most useless character. Let me amend that. Rinoa sucks overall.

I love the game. I think because a lot like MW2's mp it's completely broken and I love that. Weird I know.
But oh lord is the story pretty bad.
The Squall/Rinoa love story especially. The whole love story, his character and the other characters flip attitudes out of nowhere in an instant.
Rinoa is an annoying pest and he doesn't like her. Now he's losing his mind and being reckless head over heels in love with her. Because ????????? That change is in an instant. No setup. No buildup. No real chemistry. Just Bam! Contrary to his whole character he can't think about anyone else in the world but her.
The cast insists he forget everyone in the garden mid battle and think about nothing but Rinoa while he insists the garden and students come first.
Then later.
Squall is freaking out and not caring about major story moments while the cast insists he calm down and NOT think about nothing but Rinoa for a minute.
Which is it then?

Idk why but for the first time ever I'm realizing just how anemic the story is and how fast everything moves.

Endgame was a stupid mess. For a lot of reasons.

Let's pick just one.
Infinity War - Lets dedicate a whole sub plot to explaining that only giant space dwarf Peter Dinklage (and his dead pals) had the knowhow, tools, substance (undisclosed metal) and requiring the power of a star to make the only device in the universe capable of mounting and utilizing all the stones simultaneously because they're just so fucking powerful. And it worked.
Then one year later and written by the same people. Endgame - Stark just makes his own. Oh I guess he maybe had help from Rocket, Banner and Nebula. And even then, even if you say oh he's the smartest person in the universe, blah blah blah. Then after that gauntlet is taken he just throws them on his regular old IM armor and uses then that way.

They're not my team. But enough with the he's a hero, he did the right thing, you're not him, benefit of the doubt, etc bs on this.
It's a dick move.
You retire in the offseason. End of the season or in the spring/early summer before the new season starts in earnest. Give the team time to figure things out, make some moves to replace and so on. The fans too.
Unless something is truly, grievously wrong with him health wise that requires immediate attention which may be the case.
This "I didn't think of retirement until the last week and a half" on his part is complete horse shit. He was injured again sure, probably wouldn't have played until later this year anyway. But again, you don't give everyone the picture you're coming back and to build around your talent and then spring it on ownership, management, teammates and fans suddenly 2 weeks before the season.

There's ways to do this. This is not one of them.
And yeah. He kinda deserved the boos.

The average shirt should last 7-10 years. I have a few that are about 15. And a couple of special concert and sports ones that are over 20 but I never wear those anymore. Too fragile. They're just for the memory and in the back of the closet.
