I wonder if a weaponsmith could make anything better than the Sword From Heaven that I got near the beginning of the game. I asked her to make an axe.

One of my vassals, who happens to be a child, took over the province next to Rome. Meaning I dont even need boats to loot the pope! Thanks kid!

Now DK has an event about forging a bloodline based on a claim that we descend from Alexander the Great. Someone else had this event, but died before it came to fruition. DK is still pretty young and healthy, so lets see if he can manage it!

Holy shit! Ive never seen this event before. The woman I hired to be my weaponsmith has fled my lands and went to the court of King Ailpin III, King of France (which is approximately two provinces that my vassals are fighting for). She took the weapons and gold that I gave her, too! I dont think so, bitch! Because of my high intrigue, I can kill her and take the weapon. I acquired Cleaver.

Whew, I caught up to the guy I was at war with just in time. During the battle, my vision turned red with bloodlust and I charged ahead without any regard for my safety. My nearest companion, Circe, hurried to keep up with me as I surrendered to my berserker rage. My axe cut swaths in the enemy ranks. When the dust settles, DK stood alone over half a dozen slain foes.

Some days, Dk thinks hes going insane. Its probably all in my head, but sometimes I notices people staring. When the courier whisper it is impossible to shake the suspicion that it might be about me. Being on the The Fellowship of Hel always felt worth the risk, but I am not so sure anymore Dude, you were BORN into the Fellowship! You are the son of Loki!

While in Rome, I dueled an adventurer for control over his regiment.

Whoa, I got the Songs of Anguish event where you can invite a fellow Hel-worshipper to visit and you trap them in the bronze bull while insane musicians play. But in this event, it wants me to invite Helena! The Daughter of Loki! The leader of our little Fellowship! The one who DK commanded his mother to select a woman to be impregnated so she could be born into this world (this sentence makes no sense, but I can't find a way to make it work). Come on, DK, dont sabotage your own efforts like this. I told the game that dreams were meaningless nonsense. Then immediately afterwards, Helena asked me to sacrifice a powerful ruler for Hel.

Snorris book received mixed reception. It wasnt great, but at least it wasnt bad. But moreover it helped him develop his skills as a physician.

I got a warning about vassal levies raised too long. wtf, my vassals love their levies being raised. Im not supposed to get that alert with Warmongering. Turns out, I have a dirty Catholic in the realm! I plotted to kill him and his kids, which was easy because all the Germanics in my realm hated him too. But its a barony and has a weird inheritance law, so I basically just killed every baron as they came in.

God damn it, Consumption made it into the capital and is now infesting my daughter Circe! And Douglas Edwards!

The Fylkir Snorri (not to be confused with my Physician) has declared a Great Holy War for Germany! This isnt the greatest time dude, but sure, lets do it. I became Valhalla Bound pretty quickly because I was already in the general vicinity of German lands

Carpathia surrendered and it was kinda anticlimactic. We never had a big battle. :( I guess they were too busy with other wars.

Morgana is pregnant! Also, Jezebel has disappeared and I dont even know how to find her.

The game keeps telling me about sieges being lost by some random asshole. I dont care!

Rome was filled with horses and cattle. The raiders have rouded up a large flock in the main square so I can decide which ones to pick for myself and what to do with them. Ill share the cattle with my best warriors.

As the enemy draws near during the battle, an uncontrollable rage begins to stir within DK. He furiously bit down on the edges of his shield in an attempt to devour it. Trembling with anger, he raised his great ace and charged howling into the enemy ranks. Many of the cowards attempted to flee at the mere sight of im, but his axe has no mercy to spare for them. MUST KILL MORE. He became a Berserker.

While raiding, DK briefly had food poisoning, but my physician Jarl Snorri, suggested I drink jugs of human breast milk which seemed to do the trick. Im glad I hired Snorri.

The Leper colony in my capital is overcrowded. DK doesnt care. He told a leper to fuck off before he infected someone.

While studying war, DK had the choice between Aggressive Leader, Defender, and Unyielding. I dont often take Aggressive Leader since I prefer the outrun them and be a defender approach, but it seems fitting for his personality.

DK was invited to go have fun with his Fellowship buddy Orvar. He brought his favorite garrote along the way. They went to a tavern and spiked the barrels with the blood of Jahi And hour later, the mood was getting festive. Two hours later, the crowd descended into utter madness. Then we offered up the staff to Fenrir.

I had a Great Blot to get rid of some of my prisoners. I had three left I executed one adult, and sacrificed two kids to Hel.

I realized the issue was that I had too many vassals above my limit so I couldnt raise their own troops which went into the calculation. Once I transferred some fiefs over, everything worked out. But I still killed Zyx to send a message not to fuck with Empress Bicycle and her spymaster son/heir DONKEY KONG.

My brother/lover DK died of Rabies. :( I was so distraught I had to visit his grave. On the way back, I found his memento laying on the floor of my bedchamber. Ill cherish it forever!

My demon son just asked me to select a woman to bear a demon baby, but I dont have any young women in my court in the Fellowship. I spawned a few disciples. The first was male, the second was an old lady, and the third was a Genius Hedonistic 19 year old Lustful woman. PERFECT. The baby was a girl by the name of Helena. Surprisingly appropriate for a randomly generated name.

Oh Jesus, Lady Bicycle is going to have the Cthulhu event. Now, hear me out I think Ill let her die. Shes lived a long, satisfying life, I think. So I captured a woman from the popes lands while raiding. Then my son DONKEY told me I should cast a spell to have her be possessed by a demon. It worked, and shes now loyal, therefore I freed her from prison. Also since shes now in my court and likes me, I asked her to convert to Germanic. She WOULD have said yes, but then one of my viceroys/lovers asked to marry her, and I said yes. Her opinion changed because I was no longer her liege, and then she said she refused to change. Welp, now I have to murder her.

I became a Ravager! I didnt know there was an upgraded version of Viking!

During a carousing party, I had the chance to eat one of my guests! Erm, lets not. Hes Strong and still has a chance to make babies.

I won all my wars and now I own Neumark, Berg, and Verden. I wanted to go raiding, but I cant because, again, Im STILL at war with Genghis Khan. I could probably kill him too, if I could get my troops over the steppes without taking a million points in attrition damage.

One of my lovers, the Viceroy of Wales, warned me ahead of time when another vassal, the Duchess of Vestlandet, was about to slander him. Clever man

My vassals are combining their forces to fight Carpathia and theyre going a good job! By the time DK takes over, his dream of fighting Carpathia might be feasible. Right now my vassals are taking Wolgast, the last piece of land Carpathia owns which borders the ocean (Im not sure what this body of water should be called. Is it the Baltic Sea? Gulf of Danzig? The Kattegat?)

My spymaster was murdered! I imprisoned the fucker who ordered it and tortured him. The next spymaster is my dwarf lover.

DK made another sister incapable this one being a sister who was an adult, married, had kids, and her own territory. Hes REALLY careful about his antics. Also, hes reaching an age where he needs a martial character to train him. I THINK devil children can get any education, but Im not sure. They might only get martial or intrigue.

Lady Bicycle passed the Pants Act outlawing pants, because they get in the way of genitals.

Oh good, the Khan (Genghiss son) finally won his war. Now I can go raiding! And carousing! I became best friends with my spymaster/lover/court dwarf!

Bicycle took a good look at herself and thought about her weaknesses and strengths. After many hours of soul-searching, she realized: she has nothing to be ashamed of! She is a sexy seductress, even at 47 years old!

My spymaster returned with an artifact: the tongue of an unbeliever which has remained preserved since the original owners death as if by magic. Perhaps it can bestow some of its penchant for deceit that the owner once possessed? I praised my spymasters achievements to the court.

I changed my focus to Carousing now that Im successfully a Master Seductress. Unfortunately, I cant go carousing because Im technically at war with Genghis Khan still.

Oh shit, and Im no longer Threatening. When did that go away? I could have taken more land years ago! Lets get to it!

My slow son died comatose in bed. One less obstacle for DK.

My vassal and lover, Viceroy Sigtrygg the Cruel, has just conquered Surrey, the final province on the island of Great Britain that I needed. This man started as a mere count, but look at what he has accomplished! All because he was willing to fuck the Empress.

My cat died. :( I held a funeral for it to celebrate its adventurous life which cost 150 ducats, but Im swimming in money so I dont care. I like to think that my cat was good friends with my owl familiar.

The demon child is learning how to fight, and poor Bicycle thinks hes going to be a great knight one day. No honey, hes going to be a psychotic serial killer. He has some great stats now, and even if he didnt become a demon later on, hes an excellent character to be.

Swirldude sent me the new expansion for Endless Legend: Inferno, and WILL: A Wonderful World. Or at least, I'll have them once Steam decides to put them in my library. It's being a little slow right now lol. Thanks, Swirldude!

Endless Legend is a 4X game similar to Civilization, but its a fantasy world with fantasy cultures/units/etc. I had a lot of fun with the base game, and I'd been wanting to play it again, so now I will with the expansion!

WILL: A Wonderful World was a visual novel with significantly more gameplay element than usual visual novels. It caught my interest when it first released on Steam, but I've never really seen anyone talk about it. In this game, you play as a god who receives letters from people living in a city and you can change their fates by rewritting/reorganizing the sentences in their letters.

I have a few more days of work/family obligations before I can play, but I promise I'll play both of these before January!

With the extraordinarily absurd amount of money Zyx made, I donated to the Jomskivings for some extra temple vassal opinion and to pretend that its going to help when the crusade fucks us. :\

One of my vassals decied to conquer the island of Lesbos. Well, this is a good sign for Lady Bicycles reign!

Another vassal conquered a piece of land in Wales and it was enough for me to create the title Kingdom of Wales! Which is great because my annoying ex-spymaster is a count in Wales, so if I give the viceroyalty to someone else, shell get buried under him and cant plot against me.

Ugh, the pope is gonna declare a crusade. Well, Ill lose some land, then gain it back.

My regent passed a law lowering crown authority. :\ Can we like stop this, please, Paradox? This is bullshit and you know it. I will torture her for this when I become an adult. In the mean time, I hired a new guardian, since Beata was both regent and guardian, but I can't fire her as regent.

Not that anyone said anything to prompt this or probably cares, but this is part of my approach to curating my gift as a Steam Secret Santa:

- Instead of one huge game, I go for a "big" game plus a few others in hopes that the giftee likes at least one of them. Not that I know if my previous four giftees played any of the games outside of one, but I take pride in my process of coming up with gift ideas and would feel like crap if I ended up whiffing. By grabbing multiple games, I mitigate that risk.

- I do at least one surprise gift. If I know or can tell that my giftee has eclectic taste, then I often choose a game or two that I hold in high regard and want them to experience. If they don't, then I try my best to not make it a wasted effort. One year, I had a person whose gaming interests were almost exclusively VNs and RPGs, neither of which were my area of expertise. I made the assumption that they preferred games where the threat of failure or fail states were low or non-existent and they valued the narrative over the interactive element. I ended up going with an adventure game that was lauded for its narrative.

That sounds awesome, and I think I'll do the same thing! Although I AM the kind of person who only plays VNs and RPGs so I may not have great knowledge of the games my giftee likes if their wishlist is full of shooters or survival games lol.

I've tried that on occasion (not in this game, but in previous ones) and I've had mixed success. I may actually try pressing some claims just for shits and giggles if I can, but a little piece in the back of my mind thinks that if I'm not blobbing, I'm not becoming stronger and I'm opening myself up to being conquered by outside forces. I may be at a comfortable point now that I can stop blobbing.

Oh, wanted to add too: In this game in particular, it's hard to play the marriage game since I'm the only Germanic Norse anymore, so no one outside my realm wants to marry my kids lol.

Ah, perfect, we arrived in a town run by a Sunni. This town is right smack in the middle of Lombardy (present day Italy, i.e. VERY close to pope-land). wtf, why is there a Sunni leader here? Hes just a randomly independent city in Bologna, of which the rest is controlled by Lombardy. This guy is so, so fucked.

My wife Ngeva has really been letting herself go as of late. What was once a graceful and delicate woman has slowly become an undignified and hefty glutton, only excited about her next great feast Since Zyx is also fat, it would be awfully hypocritical of me to tell her to lose weight. God I know that feel. I wish there was some option in-game to fix transfer vassalage en mass or ask your vassals to do the same. I hate finding out that someone has a -25 or whatever opinion malus because they "Desire control over the County of Fuckland." I periodically go through my vassal list, just hovering over their opinion and looking for that message. Especially after a viceroy dies.

Recently though, I've gotten to a point where I have enough Viceroy titles that I feel comfortable handing 2-3 to a single character and letting them unfuck it. They do a pretty good job!

Zyxyz0 asked me to do the Business/Stewardship focus, and the AI is already doing it! Zyx became count of some land in England that his mom conquered, so he had time to practice being a ruler before I, Erika the player, took control of him. In that time, he actually took the business focus!

The game decided to remind me that we dont use Runestones anymore. We use these things called pens and paper. I mean, I didnt even try to build one. Its like if I have to remind you that we dont use papyrus anymore.

DONKEY KONG came down with Smallpox and I forgot to hire a court physician. I did so, and I found a Quick Renowned Physician with 21 Leanring. Great! Youre hired!

A few of my Viceroys died all at once and I was able to use this time to unfuck some of the vassalage tiers, i.e. putting certain counties under the rule of their rightful duke, or some duchies under their rightful king.

I gave my sister Erika the counties of Bath and Somerset, the Jarldom of Somerset, and then the whole damn Viceroyalty of England. You better not betray me!

I was at peace/defensive as Raka for so long Im now itching to go to war. My vassals seem to be handling the eastern expansion just fine, so Im going to focus on eating away at central Europe. Itll probably get Holy Ward eventually anyway, but they can only declare a holy war one one chunk of land at a time, so if I declare many wars at once, they have to pick which one they want to take back later.
