All you need to know to see that this isn't because we are testing more is to see the stats that show hospitals are filling up and deaths are increasing. Tests don't account for that, what does explain that is this virus is spreading at an alarming rate.

What the red zone is

The 359-page report, which appears to have been circulated by the federal government but not released to the public, defines the red zone as those core-based statistical areas (CBSAs) and counties that during the last week reported both new cases above 100 per 100,000 population, and a diagnostic test positivity result above 10%. Those regions are experiencing major community spread of the novel coronavirus.

The only one triggered is you getting triggered by reality. Yeah the overall numbers may look flat, but this is a giant country not all getting hit at the same time. States in the shit are anything but flat.

What people don't realize is deaths don't happen on day one, they happen when the health care system can't keep up. When people were boasting about low death rates despite high numbers of infections, they were missing the point. This virus doesn't kill instantly, it kills when people can't get the proper treatment. The higher infections meant more people in the hospital which meant less attention to each patient which ultimately leads to deaths.

Can you explain how that was is bad? The idea of positive tests is to see how many people have had the virus, that's it. Just because you recovered from it doesn't mean they didn't have it, they should be added to the total. They aren't added to the active cases, just the overall number of positives.

It could be a half assed study and he only noticed it because it mentioned New York as number one. Being airborn doesn't mean it lives indefinitely in the air and it's all over. It's being shown countless times that being outside is pretty safe, even airborne viruses have trouble surviving the outdoor elements. That's not to say you are perfectly safe, but if you aren't in a heavily populated park or something like that, you should be almost completely fine.

Never before have I seen someone so unqualified expose how unqualified they actually are in a single interview quite like that. All she basically said was "kids need to go back to school" and even when the interviewer asked important questions that needed answers to make people feel safer about kids potentially going back to schools, she would just repeat that same line. She had nothing else besides that.

I don't understand not voting at all in this instance. No Biden isn't talking about defunding the police, but it's clear if something like that is what you want out of a president then Trump is the polar opposite. The stuff about New York is alarming. I mean they seem to be one of the gold standards of testing, and even they have these long waits. Even a well oiled machine is slow as shit, with a virus like this that's just scary. There hasn't been a "sound reopening" in any state.

New York has been doing well, though I imagine luck played a factor in that. Luck and timing, it ran through the state in high numbers already so that may be giving us a little bit of a respite before it returns again. Hopefully that's at least a sign for other states that while things are shit right now, it will go back down regardless of how well you actually do.

Why do you keep creating this topic? Just the other day there were just 0.84% of cases being positive, and you didn't make a topic about that. This isn't static, it bounce around and you only have to worry if it continuously rises. Going from 0.84% to 1.0 percent to 0.90% to 1.2% isn't cause for alarm.

Yesterday, the State tested 46,428 people. Only 391, or 0.84%, were positive. Sadly, 7 people in New York passed away yesterday due to COVID-19.

The total number of COVID hospitalizations hit another low yesterday, falling to 853.

Hospitalizations continue to fall as well. I believe that is also our lowest number of deaths since mid March. This is pretty impressive when you consider NYC is now opening as well. Too soon to be happy, though. It wouldn't shock me in the least to see us go back up, people are stupid and will get comfortable and abandon what made this happen. I've already seen it, they're in the minority so far but it's more than you would like.

The company says that is has not been tested on COVID-19 and that the church is over promising things. The company wants to get in contact with the CDC to do some tests to see if it helps since it does kill other types of coronavirus, but so far no test has been done.

This is a week old but I just read it so I wanted to pass it along. And on the off chance Donald Trump posts here, no it doesn't appear to be helpful as a preventable measure, just those who get really sick from the virus tend to die a lot less when it's administered.

Without a vaccine, these are the kind of breakthroughs we need. Since these are already extremely sick people they will most likely have long term effects from the virus, but those are better than being dead. Hopefully we continue to find useful drugs already out there while also making new antiviral treatments. A vaccine is not a sure thing to happen, knocking the virus down a few pegs is very important.
