Deaths and daily infections are also at their lowest point in some time. I only post this to let people worried about their areas getting hit that things do get better, if NYC can then your area can too. It's not like NYC has great leadership, so just be smart and you'll be fine.

So NY peak was 18k hospitalizations. Where is Texas, Florida, Arizona, and California at right now? Do they have anywhere close to even half NY peak?

I looked it up Texas has 4.3k and California has 3.8k right now. When you compare that to curve in OP. Holy shit NY was hitting 16-18k at that peak.

why do you say that? because they're reopening? i mean some places in Europe are reopening and there's no indication of them getting a second wave so far

While I never set foot in Europe, I do see people here in NYC wearing masks and social distancing. It's not 100% of the people, more like 70% percent but that's good enough to drastically slow down the spread of covid 19
