Can you really blame them? The pardon list says it all. Trump didn't pardon his supporters who he gaslighted for months to save his own ego, nor did he pardon Assange who helped him win the election by leaking Hillary's emails, however he did pardon Bannon who embezzled money from Trump supporters. It makes it expressly clear to even the dumbest of people that Trump did not care an iota about his fanbase and even actively hates them, so why would you support a guy that not only failed to do anything meaningful as a president, but actively hates you?

I always hated how these lottos add more balls that you have to get, so they can have a bigger prize pool to impress the media. I would rather have a couple winners a month making 50 million or so than one winner making hundreds of millions if not over a billion once in a blue moon. I know it is irrational, but I felt like under the older system it felt like you had a chance, since you saw so many winners in the headlines, but now it feels like you never can win, so I don't care. So dumb.

Ironically, if he stuck to 140 characters he probably could have avoided all this grief, since there would have been less for the internet prosecutors to latch on to. Something like "my daughter spent 6 hours learning the can opener, now she wants to open everything." Would have probably avoided a lot of flak and got his point across.

Okay, imagine tomorrow that we learn that the Earth will be hit by an asteroid twice the size of the one that ended the Cretaceous period. What happens? If you have colonization, you can get people off-world and everybody already off-world is fine. If you don't have colonization, humanity could be entirely wiped out.

Colonization is an absolute necessity when it comes to the preservation of the human race.

...what?
I still don't see the advantage. Since mars doesn't have any co2, you still would have to create an artificial environment to grow plants and I can't see why this couldn't be done on Earth. Furthermore, if the climate change isn't too drastic we can still grow the plants outside on Earth simplifying the process. Mars makes everything way more complicated and with few benefits. Earth provides us with everything we need to live and thrive, mars provides us nothing. I mean you can even step outside without a spacesuit on mars without dying. Mars is a deathtrap.

It's just at this moment in time, we need a power source breakthrough that we don't have, which is why Musk can't colonize Mars. If people get to Mars with our current technology, it will be a living hell.

That's basically every how Elon pipe dream ends. "The technology isn't here yet"
Yeah, I never got the let's colonize Mars because Earth will be too f-ed up crowd. I mean as bad as climate change can get on Earth at least we have a climate to change. Mars is pretty much a frozen, irradiated rock with practically no atmosphere. It does not solve any problems, heck I don't even know if our bodies can handle the lower g's for a prolonged period of time without developing issues. It just seems to be some type of libertarian fantasy where they can live on Mars away from the strong arms of Earth governments more than a practical reality.

Because trades are dirty, nasty & physically demanding. I don't think plumbers are feeling particularly passionate about their job when they are covered in shit after fixing a cracked sewer pipe. The nastier and more dangerous the job the better it pays, but I would not exactly call this stuff a passion project. Still, beats flipping burgers, working retail or some low tier office job though.

Yeah, someone probably saw the vials that were left out and questioned why, then investigators reviewed the film. That is my guess. I can't imagine you could have a bad enough poker face that they could tell this by just looking at a person.

As for the sentencing, I am more in favor of a short sentence and more importantly ensuring he loses his medical license. Although, I am assuming that he did not act with malice and just made a mistake with vials by accidently leaving them out, then kind of waffling weather to distribute them or not. Still screwed up, but not as much as if he was planning this from the start, which will be pretty hard to prove.

BADoglick posted...
If sex and gender are supposed to be separate ideas, why does it seem like people from 'both sides' are constantly conflating the two?

Because we were essentially taught two different conflicting systems over the course of our lives, so have massive cognitive dissonance.

I mean we had second-wave feminism that essentially states that barring obvious physical differences men and women are essentially equal and if a woman wants to do more traditionally masculine ventures such as weightlifiting or motorcycling that is ok and visa versa for men. Then we have this new system used for trans people that is borderline regressive stating that there are men & women brains and if you have certain interests you are a women & if you have certain interests you are a man. So in other words one system has very loose gender roles & the other very strict. Personally I have always hailed from the second wave mind set, so all this trans stuff seemed a bit weird to me when you can just do pretty much the same stuff as the other gender anyways and by injecting all these chemicals and doing all this surgery you are essentially ruining your body, but whatever it is their lives I guess.
