I rather liked the 90s anime style & the voice acting was top notch, one of the best english dubs around, music was classic as well. Plus the mangaka has essentially peaced out and is in psuedo retirement. I would just leave things be for that show. If the kids want to watch YYH, they should just watch YYH. It doesn't need a remake

If it wasn't TC I would believe him. I had a 315 one rep max in high school and only weight lifted for 3 years (when I started I had trouble lifting 120). I never thought it was that special, since I was told strong lifters can bench around 2x thier body weight (I weighed 175, so 350 was the goal). My father, who I lifted with, could bench 335 and he was in his late 40s and didn't formally train before me. I did stop benching when I got caught up in college & work after high school, so I am pretty wimpy now though, although it would nice to get into it again some day.

Plus the deal will put a large amount of Pringo's army under the ministry of defense, thereby eliminating any way to keep said promise. The thought that you could lose your life in mere milliseconds by forces largely out of your control is scary to people, so people tend to go with the hypothesizes that hold out hope for rescue and allow for some degree of control over the chaos.

Gas stations can't blow up because of cigarettes. The fire from the cigarette isn't intense enough to light the gasoline. The lighter could set though.

Bullets can't either. Maybe with an incendiary/tracer round, but not a normal bullet.

People underestimate how stable gasoline is as chemical agent. Kinda miraculous that a chemical agent that has so much stored energy is so safe.

Standardized testing as a gateway to college is silly, as a) you'll never take a standardized test in college and b) you'll never take a standardized test after college. It's proving you're good at something you'll never do again
I completely disagree. Most of college is taking tests, often from some book publisher test bank, so, yeah, you will be taking a lot of tests in college, so better get good at them. Also, the material you study for in the SAT is pretty basic. It is reading comprehension, algebra, basic science, writing, ect. Foundational items, so I hope you aren't forgetting too many of these items because they will be coming up again in your studies and parts of life.

Taking away the SAT has always been a political more than practical one. It is a way to hide bad students under overinflated grades, so the students/school don't look bad. I can't blame teachers & administrators for doing so because the educational system is less about educating and more about being a bullshit barrier to the job market now a days, so the teachers don't want to hurt the student's future by giving them bad grades, but we are lying to ourselves that this has anything to do with proper educational assessment.

Agreed. I've never met a "bad test taker" who was actually knowledgeable about the material. They'll have an incredibly shaky foundation so their confidence about their abilities is just as shaky.
Plus if you suck at taking tests now, then good luck in college. College is like 85% tests & maybe like 15% some lame group project or something. If anything, college is more centered around standardized testing than highschool is. So, hiding kids from standardized tests is only setting them up for failure

I don't see how there can be any objective measure of academic attainment without there being standardized tests. Grades are too arbitrary & teachers are often incentivized to give higher ones for a variety of reasons (making themselves looking good, avoiding getting yelled at parents, sympathy, ect.). Plus I never bought into the, I'm smart, but a bad test taker type. If you really know the material you should be able to do well in testing (I mean, it is just multiple choice after all). It's like saying you are a good player because you are good in practice mode, but you have a losing record when playing online.

It has a better chance than most because it at least has a nitch (Gambling) that Twitch doesn't have and the banned streamers & those on the more risque side can go over there. But agree for the most part. The Prime subs just make it too profitable for most Twitch streamers to leave (not even factoring the audience retention hit) and I doubt that these big contracts for top streamers will pay off, I mean, it certainly didn't work out for Mixer and the XQC stream isn't exactly bringing in that much for his debut on Kick, so it seems like history repeating itself there

I don't think he is going to get any punishment. The legal theory they are prosecuting him under is dubious. A police officer would've been protected under qualified immunity, so they are trying to make him out to be a caregiver to circumvent this protection, but I don't think anyone thinks of cops as caregivers to the general public, heck, I wouldn't even consider teachers this and they interact with the students far more.

Whether he deserves it is another matter. Everyone thinks the dude should be some John Mclane figure, but SROs are pretty much a low risk retirement potion they give to old geezers that couldn't cut it in any departments. I don't think HR realistically expects them to be going against armed bad guys. Regardless, even if you do think he should get some punishment for his cowardness a life sentence is ridiculous.

He was pretty much a confederate in everything, but name anyways, so not much different there. [LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Because most people that fall off boats aren't reported right away, so the boat can go quite far away or the sea the person fails into is extremely cold, so they can't survive really long. In this case it was reported almost immediately and the water is quite temperate. Plus it helps that that this occurred in a calm set of ocean, so the kid would have a reasonable time spotting the boat's lights and could swim towards it. Probably could see the boat a mile or two away if it was a clear night. If not, he could wait for the day to come & chopper. If the kid didn't get attacked by sharks he would've more likely than not survived the ordeal given the circumstances.

The police aren't going to bother with crap like this, so the store will have to eat it all. It is why if you go to a Wal-Mart or the like, everything is practically locked up now a days. Pretty sure thats a white frothy splash of water because it comes up with his feet like a splash would and looks real thin. I'll give you that it is possible he kicked its head back down the literal second it popped up an the grainy look of the image could possibly effect how solid the wave/head looks. He definitely gets pulled under by something a few seconds later. I grabbed a screen just at the last miillisecond you see him, still very clearly in frame but almost completely blacked out as he's clearly sinking.

Dude could swim well enough to not just sink annnnd pretty sure that boat was a sailboat so no giant propeller underneath and not much else would drag a man down. Like I said most likely a shark I just don't see the bugger.... unless it was the wave looking thing I mentioned.
Yeah, I rewatched the video and I saw the same scene. Dude is in frame, clear as day, then immediately vanishes while still in frame. Not a slow fade out, just ,boom gone, like he got dragged down or something. Dude almost certainly was attacked.
