What if the game devs added an easy mode to the next Souls game. They do this because they wanted to, not because of any alleged pressure or influence. The game still has a satisfying difficult on normal and higher difficulty levels, as the game was balanced around them. In fact, it's the hardest game yet.

Would you still find yourself unable to enjoy that game?

It's never going to happen. The developer has stated on record that he wants people have the joy of overcoming the difficulty and an easy mode completely invalidates that feeling. It is antithetical to the game design. Plus Miyazaki also stated that multiple difficulties split the fanbase, so instead of being a shared experience based on careful fine tuning that everyone can talk about, there are multiple completely unrelated experiences around various difficulty levels that may not be so fine tuned. So it becomes really messy talking about the game. Plus the series is built on the reputation of challenging gameplay and people get a sense of pride and accomplishment for beating these games, so having an easy mode would chip away at this reputation and make the accomplishment feel less meaningful. These are most of the arguments the developer makes for there not being an easy mode in Souls

There are plenty of games with really shitty easy modes that are a complete waste of developer and player time. While they don't "ruin" the game, they aren't exactly a positive for them either.

If they weren't different races, no one would care. Sure it would be a decent lolcow video, but there wouldn't be this much white knighting. People thinking that DAs are going to send a person to jail for yelling at someone or trying to slap away a phone are deluded.

It's mostly a victim of overpopulation. Too many people crammed in cities that were never designed for the capacity they must now deal with. It's becoming a problem in most of the southwest, although California has been affected the worst. California needs high density housing with good public transportation, but the homeowners hate the idea and stymie it at every turn, so you are left paying 2.5k a month for a single bedroom apartment made in the 70s with popcorn ceilings or a million for rinky dink shack. I'm not loving the water situation either. That will be a major problem in the future as well for these million person cities built in the middle of a desert. Climate change will not be do these places too much favors. Overall, not too bullish on much of the region.

It is funny though that these gun nuts are so edgy most of the time with thier punisher stickers and "I've got six good reasons to not take my gun." stickers, but when they eventually get the murder charge, it is all mortal peril at the mundane and jumping at shadows. It is a miracle they can get through a normal day with this constant fear and anxiety, they seem to put on for the trial.

That is what I figured happened. The article said her groin area was burned, so I am guessing she put the coffee between her thighs and accidentally squeezed popping off the lid and spilling the contents. It is pretty much the same as the 90s case. That case had less to do with lids, and more to do with the tempeture of the coffee. Kinda frustrating because while I am not a McDs fan, there is almost so much idiot proofing you can do, I mean it is not like you are going to JB weld the stupid plastic lid on so some senile granny can't pop it off, so you have to give millions to morons or learn to serve iced coffee I guess

Yeah seriously. DS1s only real strength is it's interconnectivity. People wanna talk about DS2 being a broken mess when half of DS1 is rushed and/or unfinished.

The sad thing though is even the rushed and unfinished content of DS1 is still better than the vast majority of DS2. It is pretty much why the DS2 fans can barely even say anything good about thier beloved game, they have to try to bring other titles to thier level. They are like, yeah, almost our entire game is bad, but DS1 had the demon ruins/lost izalith, so checkmate DS1 apologists, even though DS2 has a whole horde of shitty levels such as the frigid outskirts, shrine of amara, iron keep, the poison level trio, you name it. I don't understand why people insist on polishing the turd that is DS2, since there is barely anything redeemable about it, but polish they try

The only other beefs I have with that game is I feel like half the bosses in the base game are a bit lame, either being failed gimmick bosses like the Witches & Micolash or screen filling monstrosities that make the camera call uncle. The DLC bosses are insane, the best I the series, but some of the base game bosses, yeesh. DS 3 had the best bosses, but it feels a bit stale in terms of level design, so overall I still prefer Bloodborne over it, since the total package just feels better.

yea Dark 2 may not have anything going for it in terms of bosses, encounter design, or unintuitive movement, but it more than makes up for it in tone and presence. it has some of the best writing From's put out. and it has one of the best characters of the franchise. game's a 10

Lol, everything sucks about the game besides the story that no one plays these games for, 10/10. If DS 2 is a 10/10 then what is Bloodborne, a 20 out of 10? The only good thing about DS2 is how many weapons, armor and builds there are in the game, but at this point Elden Ring does a better job at that. DS 2 is the embodiment of mediocre. If it didn't have the DS name attached to it, no one care about it

Remnant 2 was very successful.

Maybe for the Fextralife crowd, but the game has next to no popular recognition despite releasing just a couple months ago. Although, at least it is trying to be something a bit different than an action game with a stamina bar, a I-frame roll and deflects, so I will give it a bit of credit I guess, although it does look a bit too slow and boring for my taste.

It was premediated regardless. It's not like you have to have a big planning session with blueprints and diagrams for a murder to be considered premeditated. Sounds terrible. You spend nearly a 100 hours leveling to max in classic. Dying and losing all that time is a ludicrous punishment. If the game is that boring to level normally that you have to do this depravity, then perhaps you should just play something else.

It's the southwest. It floods nearly everytime it rains. The roads don't drain worth a damn too. I've seen them pool up with just a half inch of rain. Although, even for a tropical storm this was pretty weak. The water was practically all dried up/absorbed by the next day. Outside of rain in August, I've seen much rainer days. Most other states would laugh at us calling this a rainstorm

It was people mostly being mad about the news gaslighting the hurricane to be some world ending catastrophe when it was essentially just a rain storm that barely delivered an inch of rain.

I mean you can, but your contact to the outside world is greatly limited in prison and largely at the discretion of the guards, so I don't see how you can have any meaningful campaign ran from there. It's probably both. Sugar is in just about everything in the US. And if you stop drinking your daily coffee/monster/etc, you will definitely feel the withdrawal, usually in the form of a fucked up headache.

That headache is the reason why I mostly stay off caffeine. I'll have maybe two cups of tea in a week.

Tea practically has no caffeine. I would be surprised if you get a headache if you don't drink it for a couple days even if you are a daily drinker. It is mostly the coffee that people get the withdrawals from, mostly because it is so caffeinated and people tend to drink so much. It isn't a cup of two a day, it is several and each is practically an energy drinks worth of caffeine.

That's pretty much it. Everyone is on the take when it comes to healthcare system: politicians, news media, you name it. It's not talked about ever despite being obscenely broken in just every metric (cost, healthcare outcomes, customer agency, ect). Trump needs to be able to peel off soft Democrat support to win and he's just not capable of doing that. He still has an iron grip on the Republican base, but if you're not already a staunch Republican, nothing he has said or done in the past three years is likely to change your mind on him.

I agree with this analysis. While 2016 was called a miracle by the Republican voters, in retrospect Hillary was hugely unpopular and still managed to win the popular vote. Trump then followed this narrow victory by being overwhelmingly defeated by Biden in 2020. So, Trump's ability to win a national election is a bit over rated.

Also as you said, the demographics don't favor the Republicans at the national level & Trump is caustic to anyone that already doesn't like him, so he would have a hard time winning an election in normal times.

However, winning elections is 90% about how the economy does. There have been very few if any incumbents that won office in a bear market, so Trump still has a chance if the market goes south before election times, but in an equal playing field, he would be defeated soundly.

Yep, I'm sure it will arrive in Q2 2024, alongside Bloodborne for PC & Half Life 3.

Except for the part where he's spent the last eight years convincing as many people as possible that the only way he could possibly lose an election is if the opponent cheated, and as such a dangerously large number of people genuinely believe (in spite of the complete lack of evidence to support it and a substantial amount of evidence that pro-GOP fraud happened) that the Democrats stole the last election. If he loses again, those people aren't going to see that as a failure on Trump's part, they're going to see it as another instance of the Democrats undermining democracy to take away the government that America really wants, and that's just going to make them even angrier.

The dude will be pushing into his 80s and keeps losing, so what are they going to do after a certain point? They had Covid to blame for his loss in 2020, but what would they have for an excuse this time? I would be surprised if Trump can effectively run again if he loses a second time. It is now or never for him

I mean, they can try to insult America with 9/11, but I don't think America really cares that much anymore. The thing I find sad about modern America is that if there was a second 9/11 in today's political climate, I don't even think America would even care that much. You need 100% of the jurors votes, so, one measly Trump voter can throw everything to chaos & nearly 50% of the nation voted for Trump, so good luck with that. It's a hail Mary, but more than likely the fight will be decided in the ballot box. Beat him in the election and he will be finished for good, but he is a tough opponent, so it will definitely not be easy, but I suppose that is the best way to solve it. If he loses a second time, you can say that America has fully rejected him & his career as a politician will wither to oblivion as he lost the mandate of heaven.

Things like spell practice & not needing the v-sync patch started in 8, not 7. 7 still has the poor early Zun art as well. So overall, not too much of a step up from 6 in terms of mechanics. Even the non visible hitbox isn't much of a problem most of the time in 6. It is roughly the size and location of the bow ties of the characters & looking at your hitbox all the time tends to be bad play. It is hard to react to bullets if you are hyper fixated on the hitbox. A ton of shmups don't show hitboxes & you get used to it.
