Granted, I watched it out of context of the rest of the show because my friends happened to be watching it. But even without knowing the rest of the story, I predicted every single story beat. I feel like anyone could have watched that episode and tell you what every next scene would be.

Because it's a morality story about good and evil. Not every piece of fiction needs to represent the complex moral ambiguity of social organizations populated by individuals with their own unique values, motivations, and vehaviors.

Sometimes fiction can just have a Council of Evil that foes evil stuff.

Star Wars really isn't a morality tale though. The good guys don't do a ton of independent good deeds, they're just constantly trying to defend their lives from the crazy evil empire.

There's no way. DS is slightly wider but more importantly there's less proportional width in the back meaning more space on the handles for your fingers to rest. I still wouldn't mind if it was even bigger though

Religions in videogames being just true is always weird to me. It'd be cool if the story Temenos recited is more complicated than as shown but the previous game didn't use complex story as a selling point.

I'm kinda between Temenos and Partitio. "Eliminating that devil called poverty" is just unfathomably based for a merchant class. But, he also seems like he'd be a side character in an RPG party. Unless his grandiose goal is a pretext for his story to explore him personally, but that might be a little high concept for Octopath, and I can't know until I select someone.

I don't tend to go for clerics because dogmatic institutions are lame, but the premise "doubt is what I do" is a good lead character premise.

I just really hope this game has enough plentiful challenges to make you feel at the limit of your systems like how exploration could feel in BOTW.

Yeah it was pretty good. Maybe a little too long (it's 1hr 50 minutes). There's this personal thing with Beatty going on but there's also this critique/satire of the Nixon administration happening at the same time and I'm not convinced they work together too well. In the final act when Beatty's house of cards collapses is when it really gets enjoyable. Besides seeing the character arcs play out, the sets and camera work are beautiful. All these vistas and 70s house parties + dynamic shots of Warren Beatty on a motorcycle. As the movie progresses it turns from distant and impersonal to very emotionally close and intimate. Somehow this movie didn't feel as nihilistic as other films of the 70s. There is at least a sense that a person can change for the better and there is an opportunity for you to 'live your best life', a meaningful life, even if that opportunity can be squandered.

The premise is Warren Beatty is a hairdresser cheating on like at least three women. Very fast paced dialogue where all these people are sort of lying to each other about their lives. It's just the most stressful type of movie for me.

Original game: find shrines and beat the puzzles to increase your health and stamina. Get weapons as rewards to replace yours that break.

New game: they haven't pictured shrines yet as far as I know. Weapons as rewards seems to be made redundant by the crafting system.
