I acknowledge it is an excellently crafted movie. But after several film classes that featured a lot of film noir i am just about done with this genre and style.

My watch history of acclaimed films is now skewed enough that when the protagonist is a failure it's just old hat. I'm stuck in one of two worlds where either the joke cracking hero saves everything in blockbuster fashion, or else some loser with a 30% quantum probability of being played by Jack Nicholson stumbles around as the director relishes in how his portrayal of LIFE is so DARK and REAL.

When I first learned that George Lucas was a close collaborator of craftsmen like Francis Ford Coppola, I was shocked at where he ended up. Now, I feel great sympathy for him! Can't imagine what it does to the brain to be around these New Hollywood guys all day long.

I'm exaggerating of course, I think I'm just feeling 70s fatigue. I'd love to see a thoughtful and complex and well-crafted movie where the director believes positive change is possible in the new world.

The ability to walk and aim at the same makes the remake the superior version.

Except it's actually not very useful due to the combination of Leon's snail pace and that movement severely reduces accuracy

Honestly the worst part of RE4make is not being able to have laser sight on all guns. Like I don't want to upgrade from the default to red9 and then lose the sight

he doesn't appear to be infected like the others. i don't remember seeing any bugs come out in the original or the remake.

In the remake his body has plagas tendrils visibly emerging. In the original he has tendrils in his throat.

dudes whining about obviously good remakes or sequels pretty much has me writing it all off as "muh nostalgia"

This is really obvious in Crowbcat's video about the Halo franchise, where it ends with a montage of teenagers at Halo 3 midnight releases. The video is trying to put forth the narrative that such excitement does not exist in modern Halo players because the series is bad now, when it's actually because Crowbcat and his audience grew up, and they still haven't realized that part of aging is that you gain a wider array of experiences and don't feel literal child wonder in the same way anymore. That it's not that Halo got orders of magnitudes worse but that they themselves and their environments changed.

Did that village have its own noble Nessie that was sadly infected by the Las plagas? Or does Del Lago solely exist BECAUSE of Las plagas making some fish grow huge?
