I mean like...hearing about people dying and it just rolling off your shoulder because it doesnt take a lot for life to end. Its become something of a matter-of-fact rather than a tragedy because Ive taken this flat, every life is equal view.

That is the right and proper way to view the world. No life is more important than any other, and there's no sense mourning the loss of a life that has no direct impact on yours.

Not being affected by things that have no effect on you is not something to be ashamed of.

I agree that the market currently has an oversaturation problem with metroidvanias with rogue-like/lite elements, but I'd argue that the market is oversaturated with metroidvanias in general. The fact that so many devs have shoehorned these mechanics into their games has really hurt the perception of the genre (as evidenced by the fact that people believe rogue-like/lite means being procedurally generated when that has absolutely nothing to do with the definition of the genre).

The SAT exists to provide some objectivity in measuring students across the nation. Essays are probably the absolute worst way to achieve that function, because you're bring highly subjective opinions and biases into the process. The essay portion was moronic when they introduced it, and it's a good thing that it's gone because it introduced the same kind of variability that administrators were trying to avoid in the first place.

The grading of the essay is not at all based on your opinion, it's not even graded based on the subject-matter of the essay.
