How nice of them to do that for us in 2021. Guess I missed that email at some point, so nice surprise.

I now see this is nationwide, so I either lived under a rock or Comcast has been pretty quiet about it. This is some bullshit, America.

hopefully with ajit pai out we can move forward with classifying internet as a utility, or at least having some regulations so that if they are the only broadband they are not allowed to have data caps

Yo how the fuck do people live with data caps? What do you do when you've used it all up?

I was just checking my household data usage to try to decide whether or not I actually need unlimited data and we're averaging 1TB every three days. 1.5TB for an entire month seems absolutely ridiculous.

I like how they say less than 5% of people use 1.2 TB in a month and act like caps are a fucking gift.

Meh, I couldn't break their 1.2TB data cap in a 2 month span if I tried.

I'd imagine the average household never comes close to the cap, so why even have one?

My household comes close or breaks it monthly with just 1 device streaming YouTube TV and others, some Netflix on my PS4, and Spotify. No one goes crazy downloading shit all the time.

I guess even during a pandemic, most people still hate home too much to be there.

Because corporations are exceptionally greedy.

Yeah caps are basically to say fuck you to the 5% (even if that's even true), which is a ton of people considering they're also counting like elderly or people married to their jobs. If people also just happen to have a lot to download that day for whatever reason, considering video games are asking for 100+ GBs nowadays, and streaming makes up for a ton, then they're just screwed, and for who exactly lol. Their operational costs probably don't even change all that much. They're just screwing people over for a very small cost saving just because they can

I don't know what my limit is but I'm pretty sure we are in the same state. Apparently I have only used 80 gigs in the past 30 days so I should be okay.
