I think you press on the paws to make them stick out. But, shouldn't be something you need to do as long as you have a scratching post. The only real grooming you should need to do on a cat is if they are long-haired and need a trim from time to time.

The first one was arguably the song that started me down the path of my current music taste. My friends at the time couldn't stop talking about the song and the video for it, so I ended up watching MTV when I got home from school, caught it, and from that point forward I started listening to alternative music all of the time.

A lot of people consider the 7800 library to be part of the 2600 library. In part because a 7800 is basically a 2600 with an extra processor that allows for better graphics. Otherwise, they are entirely the same.

Also, most of the more recent "flashback" versions have included 7800 games.

Personally I never liked Manga (always felt like it was ripping off French Bande dessine comics), but there is enough older stuff and more obscure independent stuff that I still find stuff to read.

To be fair, I have an allergy to tomatoes. But only to raw tomatoes. I'm fine with cooked and processed tomatoes.

I've gone into a diner before, told the waitress to not give me any tomatoes on my burger because I was highly allergic... and then asked for ketchup. I'm sure she thought I was crazy or a liar, but it was perfectly valid.

I'm not even the only member of my family to have that allergy. A cousin of mine had the same thing (and I've met two other people in food services who have said they knew other people with the same deal), so I know it's not just me being weirdly psychosomatic. Even a single seed or a bit of juice from a raw tomato has made me projectile vomit before, but I can eat ketchup and pizza and spaghetti sauce just fine.

My mom actually had the exact same allergy.

If you're in an environment where you can go 60-75 mph at any point during a 5-minute drive, that environment is a major part of the problem. Car-centric developments connected to other car-centric developments by highways are fundamentally at odds with getting around any other way, thanks to how much space has to be taken up to move large volumes of cars (significantly more than just about any other option, especially for single-occupancy vehicles), the amount of parking space that's needed when nobody can get anywhere without driving (commercial lots with parking minimums are very often comprised of more driveway/parking than actual store), and the danger inherent in trying to mix high-speed car traffic with any other mode. Build around something other than cars, and that 5-minute drive becomes a 10-15-minute walk instead, usually a much more pleasant one because you're walking past actual destinations and not parking lots and drive-thrus.

I'm not trying to solve all urban planning issues, I am just saying why I don't walk to the grocery store every Sunday. Slow your role.

I would get one, but not for $130. Half that price and include 50 or so pack-in games and I would on day 1.

There is a time and a place for flirting, and the grocery store ain't it. Most people just want to get their shit and get out.

It is not far, but it is time consuming. Like when I am on vacation, I have no problem walking 10-15 miles a day to do everything I want to do. But spending 30 minutes walking somewhere when I could drive there in 5? That is 25 minutes I could be spending doing chores, working, playing games, or anything else besides walking.

Give me a way to walk 60-75 mph and I will walk everywhere.

To be perfectly honest, it sucks. I only read the first two before I ended up selling the books to a used book store.

The only candy bar I have eaten in the last 10 years is a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.

My first apartment was an open floor plan, and to be honest when I was alone it was great. Just walk from one section to the other without issue. When people visited though, I hated it. No privacy, and you heard every single conversation. My current house is closed floor plan for the most part, but the living room and kitchen are somewhat "open", but not really. Basically the entry between the two is 3-4 entryways wide. Same with the dinning and family room. I prefer it that way.

So which do you prefer?

I like tattoos, but I think you can go overboard. I am not sure where that line is, but I know it when I see it.

The only two types of tattoos I would consider "absolutely not" are face tattoos and those all black sleeves. Like, I know the latter is trying to cover up a bad tattoo, but it looks just as bad if not worse in my opinion.

Not quite a millionaire yet, but between 401K, Roth IRA, traditional IRAs, and my house, I am over half way there at this point.

It is like Qdoba but with less options and more expensive.

Considering Bethesda's last "success" was 12 years ago with Skyrim (excluding Id games, which don't count for obvious reasons), I don't have high hopes. Very much a game that I will pick up if it seems good, but I am not getting it day 1.

So, Raven Software is a game company that used to have a very close relationship with Id software. They used their engine to make a few games for famous Id IPs (Quake 4, Wolfenstein 2009) as well as a few original IPs (Heretic, Hexen, Solder of Fortune, etc.). They also worked on Jedi Knight II and Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast, but that probably won't matter for this purpose. Oh, and also a little known series called "X-Men Legends"...

They were acquired by Activision in 97, and have been working exclusively on Call of Duty games since 2010. Meanwhile, their older games are either in licensing hell or lazily thrown onto the PC digital marketplaces. However Id software, which is part of Bethesda, is also owned by Microsoft. Id has at this point remastered all of their old games so you can play them on modern systems.

When the merger goes through, does that mean we could see the Night Dive remaster treatment for some of the old Raven games? That would be awesome!

I played Evony: The King's Return since it came out around 2016. The ads that run for that game show off maybe 5% of the actual game that was patched in sometime around 2020 to try and attract more people to it. The other 95% is literally resource management, city building, and attacking other players/monsters.

My main reason for never touching Hulu again was if you had an ad blocker on, they replaced the ads with a message that said "turn off your ad blocker" and extended the ad breaks from 60 seconds to 90 seconds.

That was my "why am I paying for this bullshit?" moment and I haven't gone back since 2011.

It's the same problem with Twitter. People online will constantly whine and piss and moan about Elon and Twitter and blah blah blah, but at the end of the day none of the dozen or so alternative sites (like Mastodon) have anywhere near the user-base, so most people aren't willing to make the jump. But because people aren't willing to make the jump, those sites will never get the massive user-base necessary to make a mass exodus feasible.

My favorite are the people who bitch and moan about Twitter by tweeting about it.

I am one of those people that pretty much never reads or posts on reddit, yet my favorite category of videos to watch on Youtube are people reading and reacting to reddit posts.

Every "hot take" moderation is pretty much always about how you say it.

You can get away with a lot of really controversial opinions on this site, but you have to word them in such a way that they can't be construed as generalizations or direct attacks.

It's worth noting that that's not withholding payment so much as it's just clawing it back to reissue later. Everyone eventually got paid, which is very different from outright saying "I've decided not to pay you after all" even if the delay did have consequences for employees.

Then I would point to the sentence previous where it says that you are required to be payed "on the regular payday for the pay period during which they worked those hours."

Essentially. It used to be Firefox, I remember very clearly when it was Firefox (I was in college at the time). Everybody forgets that when Chrome came out it completely changed the way we used a web browser and therefore became #1. After Chrome, everyone stopped using browsers that looked like Netscape clones and now all browsers look like Chrome clones.

I still like Firefox, but for the most part I just use Chrome or Edge.

Having worked on software that is actually used by the government to track people, most of the stuff people complain about that is tracking you is very minor compared to the stuff that can actually damage you. All your social media information, what sites you go to, etc. don't matter much. It is basically used for targeted advertising and software improvements. Want to know why Microsoft switched from IE to Edge? They determined through all that stuff they are tracking that most people prefer Chrome, so they made a Chromium browser and ditched their outdated standard.

You are honestly doing more damage to yourself by posting your age and birthday online then letting your ISP find out what kind of porn you are into.

I usually get store brand sauces. They have cheap, mid-grade, and "fancy" ones. All of them are usually better than the name brands.

No, you are right, Unity was the worst one. I had to look up to make sure it was the one that takes place during the French Revolution though, they are so forgettable after 3.

Definitely 2D. 3D platformers always seem slow and boring to me.
