The Smashing Pumpkins are my favorite band of all time, but even I will admit the majority of their best songs (with the exception of some songs on Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness) are their hits. The rest of them feel like filler.

And this is from a band that regularly releases 20-30 b-sides with every full-length album.

The funny thing with lobster is that it was original "poor person food" in the US. Before the Civil War it was mostly poor people and servants in the North and slaves in the South who would eat it.

It wasn't until the 20th century or so that it sort of took on a "classy" reputation and became the expensive food for rich people.

There was also a case in 17th century Maine where prisoners where complaining about "cruel and unusual punishment" because they were being served lobster for too many meals.

Can't imagine that happening today.

Star Trek Into Darkness was really bad about it. Hey Im Khan Ive got this whole brilliant plan but as soon as it doesnt work Im just gonna yell and smash these controls like a baby

Psychologically that makes sense. People like that want to believe that they are geniuses and have thought of every contingency plan. When they get proven wrong, they lash out because it is completely inconceivable to them that they got outsmarted.

Make the nude set the most expensive armor in the game, and the best. That will make you way more money.

I prefer that, because it tells the viewer something without overly explaining it to them. It is the biggest problem I have with modern movies. A 5 minute scene with a character should tell the viewer everything they need to know about them, not half an hour of dialog and backstory. Leave that shit in books. Show, don't tell.

Not much wider than opening a door normally would, and that would be wider longer because the door doesn't move above the car like it does with the gull wing design.

Again, the problem isn't the mechanics of it, it is the fact that doors are essentially two hatchback trunks that need to open and close constantly, which causes them to fail pretty quickly in the car's life. Hell, the trunk on my first hatchback car had to have the mechanism replaced 8 years in, these could need replacing in half that time.

I am not worried about that because you still needed PTO approved when we had limited. And we know the "bad" months are quarter end months (March, June, September, December), which managers have to make sure most teams are still running at or close to full capacity. Plus, managers have had this policy for several years now, they have just decided to give it to the employees due to most of us being remote/WFH.

Basically, you can take as much PTO as you want as long as your manager approves it. So there is no sick time, floating holiday, vacation, etc. You just tell your boss you will be taking time off and you are good.

On the one hand, I like it. On the other hand, I am probably going to be the type of person who doesn't take any time off and no longer has the "use it or lose it" incentive to do so anymore.

IIRC Lambos had doors that slid straight up, but the Delorean had gull wings that opened up and outward. I'd imagine this would be a total pain in the ass design in tight spaces like a parking garage.

Not really, cars like that sit pretty low to the ground, so with the doors fully up it probably doesn't make it any bigger then say a F250 pick-up.

The biggest reason they stopped using that design is that car doors are heavy and the opening mechanisms can fail.

@Dikitain If you want to be specific, you live in a federal liberal representative democratic presidential constitutional capitalist republic, and you can continue adding as many descriptors onto that as you want.

The difference is that Presidential Republic is the official term for our form of government (as well as most governments in North and South America, plus parts of the middle east) , where as everything else you described is just random descriptors, some of them redundant, others not even forms of actual government.

Presidential Republic simply means that the executive and legislative branch of governments are both electable by the people, as opposed to a Parliamentary Republic where the "executive" (prime minister) is picked by the legislative branch. Or a Constitutional Monarchy which is a Parliamentary Republic but with a Monarch that holds no actual power (England, Canada, Australia, etc.). Or Saudi Arabia which is an Absolute Monarchy. Or Russia, which is just fucking weird.

Yea, the only real problem I had when playing it was the occasional crashing, and that was fixed with the 4GB Patch (which most PC gamers know is safe to run on pretty much any game).

In fact, the only game I had any issue with in the trilogy was Lightning Returns. It felt like the laziest since it was (I am pretty sure), running in a PS3 emulator and didn't have any HD patches applied to it. It also defaulted to the Japanese voice acting, which was odd considering it was the only game in the trilogy to do that. Like, I know the English voice acting is bad but come on...

Crowdfunding is definitely the problem. I have backed a few projects. One of them was a scam (developer went dark and never offered refunds), two of them took 3-5 years after their due date to deliver, and the other 2 actually went well. However, the ones that went well didn't even offer crowd funding until they had a finished product and needed the money for publishing. They also are "experienced" in crowd funding projects and have a good record of delivering on time or only a few months late.

Star Citizen sounds like a great game if it is completed as promised, but that any reasonable person knows can't be done in the deadlines they set, or with the money they are asking.
