I get Kevin Conroy is a bit higher on the food chain than most VAs but in an industry where almost all information is tightly controlled to a megalomaniacal level by publishers, it's naive to expect WB of all publishers to just let him know what's going on at one of their biggest devs or if they did let him go without signing an NDA

What makes you think he didn't sign an NDA? All he said was that no more Arkham is coming. Which is something Rocksteady or WB could have told him.

I don't think they tell him anything until they hand him lines to read for that project. Why would they? Again, he's a voice actor not a developer or producer

He's been involved in the video game series for like 10 years now. He'd know the process pretty well by now I'd say so I'm sure he knows they're not planning anything right now.

It's a major plot point that is effectively guaranteed to be in the movie though.

I get that. I mean people could be thinking it was a spoiler from the first It movie and not realizing that it's spoiling book stuff that will be adapted in the second movie.

I personally don't care. But it does always help to throw in exactly what you're spoiling just in case.

It's sorta like people theorizing what's going on in Game of Thrones and then replying with a book spoiler that the show hadn't reached yet. Which people did all the time.

Granted. She did one thing right. Now for the other 95% amounts of the run time where she looks terror struck into the camera begging for help... not so much.

The only time she really didn't know what to do was when Carrey was randomly walking circles about her. Other than that I don't really see what the issue was. She's not going to sit there and agree with him that the event she's at and everyone there is pointless. The more she asked questions the less coherent he got.

It wasn't just the animation that got rightly criticized. Everything about the game is subpar. And I literally mean everything. Except the gameplay which people like a lot. Personally I'm not gonna say it was bad, but if I want gameplay that makes me feel like a superhero wielding guns made of paper, I'd play Viewtiful Joe, not Mass Effect.


The game is the most buggy release I've played since Spyro Enter the Dragonfly. It was unacceptable. Not just poor. Unacceptable that it was released in the state it was. Sure, with enough reboots you could make it through the whole thing, but I have no qualms calling it a broken game none the less. The quality is increased but still not what is to be expected of an AAA game on release date, much less half a year down the line.

The story is not just bad, it's unfathomably lazy. They moved the story 600 years and billion of lightyears away from what we know in the series, and what do we get? Re-treads of major and minor plots and elements from the original trilogy. Not a single new thing. Ancient and mysterious progenitor species: check. Generic bad guy aliens who turns their enemies into their own soldiers: check. Bipedal sentient species who follow the same familiar social structures we know with at most minor variations: check. Everyone vs Krogans plotline: check. No interesting new take on weapon technology from a civilization in another galaxy: check. Generic ice, desert and jungle planets: check.

Literally the one thing that made the Andromeda concept interesting is that they could do whatever they wanted. And obviously they should feel limited to some extent on what the series has built itself up as, they could basically re-invent everything and give a fresh perspective to the series.

The most innovative thing they gave us was a jetpack during combat. There's nothing in the game that is original to Andromeda. All the concepts and story elements and characters and even humour is ripped from the original trilogy. Nobody in the entire production had an original thought that they put into the game. And again, aside from the combat, does Andromeda do it better? Does the remnant even compare to the mystery of the protheans? Does female Garrus compare to OG Garrus? Does the krogan plot compare to the krogan plot? Does the Kadara button joke compare to the Sur'kesh button joke? Does Conrad Verner's sister compare to Conrad Verner?

You might say that there's a bigger focus on exploration than in the OT and if that's your thing, sure, but is it good exploration? I don't remember finding much of interest. There's the giant remnant ship on Elaaden and that was cool, I guess. Wasn't actually anything inside it other than turrets stuck in the wall. Couldn't even do much exploration when the game was initially released cause you had like 50 inventory slots. They increased that in a patch, but really. Plus the game pressures you to not explore via gameplay mechanics that tell you to go check your ship computer for rewards every 45 min to an hour via cryo pod and strike team systems. And at best your reward for exploration is randomly generated loot, generic garbage fetch quest (that glitched the fuck out all the time), or the 20th remnant vault that aesthetically looks identical to the last 19 you visited.

Everything about Andromeda's execution was half-baked (again, minus the combat if you feel so inclined).

Quite frankly, I feel the root of the problem lies in the premise itself. Andromeda was born of laziness. Too lazy to write around ME3's ending, let's go to a new galaxy! Too lazy to write original story or characters, let's reuse the old ones! Too lazy to contemplate the horrifying reality of humanity (and co) coming to Andromeda as a colonizing force, let's turn it into an upbeat space romp instead!

Nobody cared.

No, there's a shifting standard that finds it harder and harder to accept, say, white people from depicting or profiting from the experience of non-white people because of the differences that exist.

The game isn't based around it at all. As I said it's a standard gameplay mechanic being used for social satire. Nothing else is really being depicted yet.

I feel like Horizon Zero Dawn got harshly overshadowed by BOTW but it's still one of the best games of the gen. But overall it still sold rather well so that's not too bad.

Not at all, but he's an unnecessary distraction. This would be like if a Robin Hood movie had Maid Marian engaged to an African prince. There's no reason for the love triangle or the accompanying racial politics.

Again we don't know anything about the guy. Wouldn't surprise me if Jasmine has no interest in him at all and he's the guy her father wants her to marry. This is similar to the plot in the original.

The combat is fun but the exploration is pretty bad. Every planet is the same thing with a different skin. Quests often require you to bounce between loading screens. Quests on that pirate planet were awful if you needed to go to the surface.

I am someone who enjoyed Dragon age inquisition, so keep that in mind in why I enjoy this lol

I thought Andromeda was worse than Inquisition. Inquisition at least generally kept the quests within the one map and there was nothing as dull as those story hub planets that lacked music for some reason.

If your story is set in modern times, yeah, it should have diversity. But if you're dealing with a racially homogeneous time and place in history, it really shouldn't be a mandate. Don't get me wrong. I don't begrudge a character's presence when they fit the story or when the character is well written.

Which this guy could be? We barely know anything about this guys role. Again this just reminds me of your meltdown over the Tinkerer which you still haven't gotten over for some reason.
