Honestly yeah I think a 2/10 seems a bit ridiculous going by any reasonable metric. I'm not usually one who cares about how reviewers score their games either. I'd even be fine with like a 4/10.

2/10 is like a next to worthless game.

I dunno, I always found collectathons to be identical to any Mario games, just that Mario has a more singular focus. You also collect like 4 different types of coins along the way

I played Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie recently and their design philosophies were quite different. Mario is generally still more focused on having obstacle courses. Banjo's was more about exploring, finding all of the secrets in a level and getting 100%

They're in the same genre but how they go about it is completely different.

I never thought about it like that. I guess that was sort of like an open world environment

Yeah it's not a coincidence that these platformers started to lose relevance once GTA3 gained more and more popularity.

Well I'm sure Super Mario Odyssey is pretty much guaranteed to be well received by both the fans and critics. This is what the general population was actually waiting for anyways, specifically a new mainline 3D Mario that has a very specific theme. Pretty interesting that they went from space to traveling different dimensions. I was gonna say that was a different take, but it's actually fairly logical

Mario (even going back to 64) isn't really a collectathon on the same level. You just have your 120 stars or whatever and that's it. A lot of those are tied to objectives and variety is usually pretty high. The priorities are completely different really. I don't really expect Mario Odyssey to be anything like Yooka-Laylee even with the worlds being more open.

Yooka-Laylee is more about collecting lots of stuff in 5 different worlds as far as I know. It's not really trying to do anything new or innovate. It's just bringing back a genre that's been dead for a long time.

Nothing about this is surprising. 3D collectathon platformers haven't reviewed well for at least 15 years now.

When these games were setting the bar they were the closest thing we had to open world games. They just can't impress on the same level anymore.

In saying that if you miss these kinds of games I'm sure you'll love it. It's either putting out a 7/10 game with these mechanics or something completely different.

Wait, he legit committed suicide or is this some dumb meme that only "the people in on the joke" find funny?

It's speculation based on his sudden death, the fact that it happened right after he made a topic on here that his wife cheated on him and also a comment made on his Facebook that implied suicide.

Seems like the obvious conclusion to come to. I don't believe anyone here knows more than that.

Don't act like it's a big deal. Because it isn't.

By planning what to say you're making it onto a big deal. Just ask when it seems appropriate to.

VICTORIAN woman Kim Debron met Master Joe not long after the demise of her second marriage. She was a 40-something single mum exploring the underworld of submissive/dominant play when she realised that she never wanted to leave.

“i (no capitals when referring to herself) made this choice when i met someone not long after my second marriage had ended. i spent most of my adult life being in charge, running a riding school, running a section in a government department, running a business with my first husband, being a single parent etc,” says Kim.

“For me, knowing i am His collared and owned slave, means that i have given Him all of me that there is to give. It means that He owns my body, He controls my mind, He fills my heart, and He soothes my soul.”

“To be in a relationship where i don’t have to make all the decisions is like freedom. It’s nice to have someone else in charge, someone to kill the spiders, to change the oil in the car, to make sure i take care of myself. It’s nice to know that i am supported in everything i do,” says Kim.

Kim may be completely submissive but she does not lack free will. Obviously, in a relationship where you have relinquished your power this can cause an internal struggle.

“Sometimes there is not conflict exactly but sometimes my brain is conflicted. In the early days of our relationship i found submitting to His will or His decisions, was often difficult because i had been in charge of myself for so long. Even in my second marriage i was the one in charge of pretty much everything.

“It got easier as time went on. And the good thing is that if there really is a conflict in my mind about whatever decision is being made, He listens to my point of view, He listens to my reasoning, and then based on what i have said, and how He feels, He may change the decision — if He doesn’t then i accept it, because i know deep down He has my best interests at heart.”

“It’s really just the same as any other middle aged married couple, just the wife doesn’t call her husband by his first name,” says Kim.

“His name is Master or Sir.”

While we may not grasp this kind of lifestyle, there is no doubt that this duo of kinksters are deeply in love. Kim says, “i am safe, i am loved, i am cared for, i am protected, and i am complete.”

All anyone can ask is to feel secure, protected and happy in a relationship, and we all get there in different ways.

I saw Ahmed 'Cool Clock Kid' Mohamed at a grocery store in Irving yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet his clock in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence to his clock,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Nobody said they have the best animations. Someone did laugh at the notion that the older ME games had better animations than Andromeda, so I posted that in response. The older games literally have better animations than Andromeda.

Andromeda is more inconsistent than just being terrible across the board.

The faces are overall more expressive and can do more compared to the older games. Sometimes you can see the effort has been made.

But there are several scenes in the game with no effort made at all. Arriving at the Nexus is easily the biggest offender so far. The problem is because these faces are more complicated they require more work. So they sometimes do look worse than the older games. But not all the time.
