Because the kid who played Stanley was the young Peter Quill in GotG.

The fucking purpose for spoiler tags is to put spoilers in them, why the fuck would I need to include any other warning? Jesus christ.

Maybe because people aren't expecting you spoil a fucking movie that hasn't even been made yet...

Spoiler Tags only cover up a spoiler. A Spoiler Warning is to tell people the subject of who you will be spoiling. It's just the polite thing to do.

Okay so we've reasoned so far that it is confirmed a spoiler, now we just entered a topic concerning a character in a series of movies. How much common sense do you have to be lacking to not know that the spoiler tag in this topic is being used for FUCKING SPOILERS.

People could have presumed it was a spoiler for the movie instead of the book.

It's a major plot point that is effectively guaranteed to be in the movie though.

I get that. I mean people could be thinking it was a spoiler from the first It movie and not realizing that it's spoiling book stuff that will be adapted in the second movie.

I personally don't care. But it does always help to throw in exactly what you're spoiling just in case.

It's sorta like people theorizing what's going on in Game of Thrones and then replying with a book spoiler that the show hadn't reached yet. Which people did all the time.

And it's talking about casting an adult version of one of the characters. That's it. People who haven't read the book could speculate about the same thing.

People who haven't read the book shouldn't be clicking on spoiler tags in discussions about the second movie. That's a good way to spoil the movie for themselves.

If it was clear what was being spoiled they could pick and choose which spoiler tag to click. That's the point.

I have a feeling the sequel isn't going to be very faithful to the book, just like this one kinda wasn't.

in the new adaptation, Henry dies in Part I, Bev kills her dad, Ben is looking to be the librarian rather than Mike, etc.

Henry isn't dead. No way.

If he's not then that's pretty crazy. How does that fall not kill you?

If they wanted to really mess with our heads, they could have written it so Pennywise saved Henry before he presumably would have hit the bottom of that well. If Pennywise kept him as a demented henchman-plaything and then revealed the adult version of Henry, it would be an absolute shock to the Losers. I'm thinking that could be how they explain Pennywise still being able to feed, at least enough to survive, since Henry could've been down in that hole with him.

I think Pennywise will have saved Henry and use him to try to kill the losers like in the book.
