With RDR2 coming in spring it makes sense they didn't remaster it, but it's still disappointing as fuck.

You forgot how they didn't understand how to properly interrogate people. Doubt to them, means that you go full rage mode on them.

To be fair that's apparently because they changed the name of the options during development. I think doubt used to be coerce and the others had different names, too. Still hilarious and dumb, though.

Like, LA Noir was okay but it's probably the least favorite of any Rockstar game I've ever played.

And I don't even remember it being that popular in the first place. But at the same time, RDR is apparently a complete mess from a coding standpoint, everything else was already re-released on IOS, and I guess they really have absolutely no plans of reviving Midnight Club, Manhunt or Smugglers Run (Outside of GTA Online updates)...

The update is in name and logo only. It's actually all about airplanes funny enough though the update that came before hand named gun-running is probably closer to Smugglers Run than the actual Smugglers Run update but it's still not really like Smugglers Run it just had more Smugglers Run like vehicles

I mean I don't remember it being that popular or at least well received by regular people. I'm sure it's sold well enough but more than likely that was because of the success of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption before it.

All I remember were people complaining about how dumb the doubt truth lie system was and then making funny little videos about the goofy facial animations

I guess it basically just comes down to me wondering was this remastered necessary why couldn't they have just made it backwards compatible

It really wasn't. Like it wasn't hated, but everyone was pretty much just like "Yeah, it's got great facial animations, but the gameplay doesn't work as well as it should and there's really no real difficulty at all since guessing wrong doesn't matter."

It's not that people hated LA Noir, it's that it wasn't that loved. Certainly not enough to warrant this remaster. It's kind of became a meme game over the years tbqh.
