Oh, for sure. No disagreement there. But they figured they could get away with it since there was so much hype for the set. They definitely sold a lot of the decks for that price. The prices online now are where the decks seem to be settling at the moment.

The final fantasy commander decks had a much higher msrp than other commander decks. It was...$70 per deck I believe? Give or take $5 or $10.

Well I finished all the villager sidequests and beat the game, but not without considerable abuse of the rewind feature. If it weren't for the testicle-pulverizing difficulty it would easily land a franchise favorite spot right after the big 3 (Super VI, SotN, and Aria of Sorrow). Gameplay's a lot of fun and aesthetically the game is top-notch; I didn't realize that some of my favorite franchise tunes originated from this game. Hell, I didn't even recognize my all-time favorite Castlevania track Ebony Wings until I finally had that 'oh shit! I know that song' moment after listening to it for ten minutes. I still prefer the kick-ass heavy metal of Harmony of Despair's rendition, but the OoE version is still darn good with its organ melody (linked for comparison).

What kind of games are you looking for TC? Or I guess a better question is, what are you looking for in a game?

He's a troll mainly from the Switch boards. He started posting here on CE a few months back, mostly in a subdued way trying to pose himself as a leaker. Then his true nature came out a few weeks back and went full on trolling here in CE.

They claim you can complete the whole Tattledex without trading, so I would assume you can find the starters in the wild somewhere. I haven't found them though, so it might only be in the postgame. I'm not sure if I'll complete the dex or just stop after I beat the game.

Yeah, postgame you unlock an area to collect the other starters, some secret legendaries, and some rarer mons that you can find elsewhere at a much lower encounter rate.

Working through the Slasher route right now. Really enjoying it vs the Comedy route that I just did. Also seems like it hints at a few things based on the ending I got. Hiruko remembers other timelines, the G'ie... Makes me pretty excited to eventually reach the grand finale for everything.

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair

so damn fun to play. i played on and off from like 2010-2015. tried a few times to get on and play the years since, especially after they put them on ps4/xbox one but they only had the base game and not chapters 8-11 which sucked. been hoping they'd bring that back and partner it with iga and bloodstained to revive it and add more characters and levels to it. but that's just a dream.

I would honestly love a new game like this. Could be Castlevania again or something else with the same gameplay loop. It was such a fun time.

I've been going back and playing it with some friends one night a week recently. Still just as fun as it used to be.

Chunky Monkey is still around. I just bought a pint a few weeks ago. I wish there were more banana flavored ice creams around me beyond Chunky Monkey.

I've gotten about 20 endings so far. Currently working on the comedy route. Getting close to wrapping that up.

Once I'm done, I may go spend some time (spoilers are for possible choices across the game) exploring more of the branches off the 2nd scenario, or sacrifice Tsubasa during that choice, or don't tell everyone I traveled back in time.

Not seeing a ton of FFXI cards so far. I guess FFXIV has the focus for the MMO final fantasy since it's newer and more popular. Bit sad since I've been replaying through FFXI with some friends recently.

I've gotten 2 endings so far. Ended up getting the harem or cult route as my first ending branch. Work has been too busy for me to play a ton recently.

Those were my choices too. I'm a little ahead and made another choice but I'm curious how it'll go. Once I reach an ending I think I'll work backwards to try the other choices instead of jumping to a random place to try something else.

Nice. I hit my third choice now as well. I chose to save Second to Last Defense Academy. I'm debating working backwards through my choices or jumping back to the start and going down the other branch from the first choice. Might be nice to see the differences between the two from the start.

Made it to Day 100. Stoked to go back and make choices to change everything now. Going to try for a best end run first, but I figure I'll screw it up.

First choice: Spare Eito
Second choice: Tell the group about the time travel

Just hit Day 85. Going to try and reach 100 tonight.

I've been reading to finish all the books (just did), then changed to only gift giving. My understanding is that if you give a gift someone loves, you'll get more points than if you hung out with them. Giving them a gift they like (but don't love) seems equivalent to hanging out.

Weird. I guess all the attacks that have flight at the start are just innately ranged. I've been focusing on the passives rather than the new attacks when I purchase skills.

Flight is the range on skills, I think? Seeing as the only skills I've seen that have it are ranged.

Edit: See GrandCross below. Not range, but additional damage to flying enemies.

Reached Room 46 on Day 16. Would have been Day 14, but I didn't have enough steps and Day 15 was a bust. Loving the game so far. Still have plenty left to do or discover. Plenty of theories about some things and some puzzles. Still working through other puzzles that I've started but not finished.

I'm pretty stoked for it. Demo was a lot of fun.

Picked this up and finally got a chance to play a bit earlier this week. Not too far into it yet, just a handful of runs and a couple of permanent upgrades so far. Excited to play more, but won't have a ton of time to do so.

Never played these games, but I've heard a lot about them. Been eyeing the remaster since it got announced. May as well try my luck here.

Didn't Hollow Knight include some map markers in one of their content updates?

The Danganronpa and Zero Escape creators finally released their Tribe Nine RPG gacha. It's got a Danganronpa-esque art style and the main villain is someone named Zero. Exploring the world is similar to Octopath Traveler in aesthetics (2D pixel art characters running around a 3D environment) but combat switches to a 3D arena where you fight in real time. There are baseball games which act as the debates from Danganronpa where you need to refute the questions posed to you.

When the game released it got panned pretty hard since (as I understand it) they drastically reduced the currency that you would get from activities vs the beta. They've increased that since then and give about 1.25 single pulls each day from daily activities.

Bigger news about it is that they just announced that any and all summoning currency spent before 3/3 will be refunded. So any pulls you make right now will be refunded to you. The refund will coincide with a rate increase for the gacha.

Before it was 0.6% for a 3 star split 50/50 with the featured vs non-featured on the banner. 2 stars were ~5% split 33/66 with the featured vs non-featured. Now it's being upped to be 2% for 3 stars (split 75/25 featured/non-featured) and 8% for 2 stars (split 75/25 featured/non-featured). There's some other adjustments as well, but those are the big ones.

Could always watch the movies since that's a lower time commitment, though I don't think the first one is great at summarizing everything from the first half.

I have! I really enjoyed it.

It's a pretty good real time dungeon RPG. It's gimmick is that the player characters are clones and only have a few days to live. Most of them get cloned as children, then over the course of their lifespan they age up into young adults, mid age adults, and then elderly. Each stage of life has different pros and cons.

The game also has some basic survival mechanics which, to me at least, I haven't really seen in a blobber before. You can also upgrade the various buildings of your home base to get better benefits or access to more crafting recipes.

To be clear, the writer for Danganronpa wasn't involved, but I believe it was the same studio otherwise. It does have a cameo for Monokuma as a rare enemy you can find and defeat.

The sequel has sounded disappointing so far.

Challenged myself to beat all the Solo battles on all the difficulties with the basic Sandslash deck you get at first. Was pretty hard against certain decks, but I did it.

Best pulls I've gotten so far is a Golden PIkachu EX and 3 Charizard EXs (including one that's the full art thing that goes inside the art to look at a lot of stuff). Not sure if I should keep focusing the Charizard packs or switch over to a different one.

Shop resets tonight as well, so purchase any hourglasses you want before then.

Since people seem pretty divided about it, how do you pronounce it?

Creepy Nuts is the band doing the song. Anime is Dandadan. Probably my most looked forward to series this season. Also one of my current favorite manga. Definitely worth a watch/read.

Regarding The Witness, I really enjoyed it. Loved figuring out the rules for the puzzles. Even got the Challenge Run done at the end. Wasn't any good at seeing the puzzles in the environment though.

Didn't like sitting through the single puzzle that took an hour afterwards though.

I have been wanting to get back into Elden Ring.
