I will say that dating someone with anxiety can be a fucking nightmare and not worth it at all. Depressed women are where it's at.
My last ex had anxiety and depression... coupled with never thinking she was ever wrong / stubborn. I mean, I do think no other person would have lasted as long with her as I did because to an extent my patience, willing to forgive, and etc meshed perfectly with what she probably needed. But, after awhile man, it becomes tedious and frustrating. Like, if she could have just dropped the stubborness it might have been okay. Depression sucks though because the medicine she took for it basically made sex less enjoyable for her... plus she drank all the time which you aren't supposed to do on depression medicine... which did lead to some weird ass incidents. Like, vandalizing the fuck out of my grandmothers bathroom, passing out and puking at social events, trying to stab herself once (I still have the scar on my hand from grabbing the blade as she tried to stab herself and stopping it), and running away across an intersection in the middle of the night. = /

Good luck mate.

I've just started dieting again today. I got down to 220 last July, but now I am at my all time highest of 276.

My aim is to get to 210. Wouldn't want to go much lower for the same reasons as you.
Nice. Are you limiting calories in general, cutting anything from your diet, using a named diet, etc?

I cut out pop mostly. I do drink diet pop and flavored water. I know both are supposedly not good for you also, but at least they lack the calories.

Also Ovo-Lacto vegetarianism is a pretty common way to be a vegetarian and you don't need to be a liberal to know what that means (hell if you know word origins you can just derive it without having heard the term explicitly because the Ovo part relates to eggs and the Lacto part relates to milk) you just need to read up on your own eating habits and have the desire to convey them using the technical terms or whatever. It literally has nothing to do with being a liberal or conservative.

Like I guarantee you the way you reacted to some of this made you come off as pretty ignorant and closed minded (things don't need to be said-- if your thought process was as you described it almost certainly leaked out in some way) and she just called it off. People with severe anxiety issues don't generally flaunt it quite so much and you generally have to go in pretty hard to learn a lot of stuff about them (but what do I know, just my mother and a few roommates with a decade+ combined living between said roommates). It's an easy way to just rip an escape valve though, fake having anxiety problems.

Of course everyone's different about anxiety and I mean I guess maybe like 1 in 3 anxiety sufferers are actually extremely open with people they've just met (usually sharing details like this about yourself with people is literally an anxiety trigger which is why it's difficult to get to know them well without being friends for a really long time) and I've just been incredibly unlucky but it doesn't make a lot of sense. If you did a little thinking that was done with a truly open mind rather than as an attempt to confirm your own hypothesis you'd see that I'm right.

But I mean yeah if it makes you feel better by all means believe that person actually existed in the form she presented to you. You have fun with that. Maybe next time try not to consider if someone's a liberal until they actually call themselves one or mention an explicitly political topic and see if you connect better.

(But seriously what SHOULD make you feel a LOT better is faking anxiety issues is a really shitty thing to do and you're better off without that person)
She was a very nice girl. I am glad I met her. And, I feel bad for her. The stuff she did when she called it all off means she kind of went over the deep end over it. I hope she feels better. Maybe I will hear from her again one day. Though, I suspect she has too much anxiety to confront that situation.

Pegging her as a liberal was kind of easy from the start. Not that it particularly matters. I basically dated a girl last who basically touted anything a Republican hardliner or QAnon said because Republicans are Pro-Life so any last stance they take has to be the right one because the others kill babies. So, I am used to you gotta just accept people have different ways of thinking. Didn't matter to me at all what her political ideology was as long as it doesn't consume her life.

Generally though, Conservative girls don't watch video game streams a lot. Liberals tend to be more educated. And, Conservative girls don't use labels like that when describing themselves. Very easy pick up from the start. Actually pegged her as being a D&D player from the start as well. When she said she did, I was like haha I had you pegged as that girl from the start. And she thought it was pretty funny I could pick up on that.

Not that difficult.

You should probably be focused on getting your situation settled and dealt with before dating, tbh.
I don't think I should be letting someone who purposely is going to drag out things dictate my life... I mean, yeah, you are probably right that I need to know where I am going to be and have my life more sorted to be able to properly present to someone what to expect from me, I suppose. But, I let a girl waste basically the past 10 years of my life. I feel a little bit like I shouldn't let her waste any more of it.

Most people IRL suggest seeing whats out there and that I will realize just how bad of a person she was when I see how other people actually treat me. They feel she destroyed my self-esteem (that's why I lol when being suggested I am egotistical. Literally the farthest person from that) and lowered my self-worth and that once I realize that other girls out there won't treat me that way that I will stop forgiving this girl and justifying her actions.

I say most because 1 person did give me the advice to not listen to anyone else and to do what my heart tells me and if it leads me back to my ex then that's what my heart truly wanted and the other opinions don't matter. That I need to focus on what I want and not what others tell me to want.

*shrug*

No one has suggested going recluse for awhile. In fact, people keep telling me that would be the worst thing to do IRL.

And, nah. No part 2.

I actually don't need to know every pointless text between the two to know that your story makes 1000% more sense if you assume she lost interest in you at some point down the line (or was out with the intent to troll to begin with) rather than the person described being an actual honest person.

You're very naive and inexperienced with people if you can't see that. The fact that you were trying to hit her with the liberal brush off of just hearing she's a vegetarian and gluten free (what people choose to eat usually has nothing to do with political beliefs-- even if the vegetarian thing is entirely MEAT IS MURDER a lot of hippie types avoid politics like the plague!) to me says you spend too much time reading political message boards and not enough time actually talking to people outside your comfort zone.
Unfortunately, your thinking doesn't make sense with the actual flow of conversation and what happened. That's okay. It's easier to think that these types of people don't exist then acknowledge they do. Trust me. I get it. I'd probably think the same in your shoes. 100%

Tom is actually the one who is pretty much dead on the nose. She probably wasn't ready for dating. Her severe anxiety is something she brought up many times, but elaborated in detail more only at the very end. She many times said that talking to people and dating in general was giving her anxiety. When we planned our date (which the timing doesn't coincide where you said I obviously "failed" lol) I asked for it to be inside if possible due to my allergies this time of year, but she insisted it be outside because she said she freaked out both times she went to a restaurant in the past year and a half, which she attributed to covid-fear. She also stated the only 2 people she dated in her life were friends (I think from a D&D group she was in) that she had known for 2 years before they dated, as well. She said the reason she was single now was specifically because she had severe anxiety which made it hard for her to meet people or connect with people.

Where's the fitness topic?

This is now it, I guess.

So, I haven't been to the gym since the Pandemic started so January of 2020. I just rejoined, since apparently my work's gym is dragging its feet opening back up.

I thought for sure I tore my bicep in literally the first set of arm curls on Saturday. I think it just cramped now though. I didn't have much soreness in my arms despite working out for the first time in so long until today, which to me is weird to have a 2 day later soreness start.

Yesterday, I did an hour on the treadmill. Not comfortable with running yet.

I played basketball for the first time in probably 10-12 years the other day. I was dominating like my old-self at first then just hit this wall where I felt like my chest hurt so much, and I couldn't breathe. That was like a wake up call that I am too out of shape. I quite smoking on the spot (I usually just smoke when I drink which is rare enough, but I had been chain smoking for like the past 2 months prior to this due to stress in my life).

February 4th I was a ghastly 310lbs due to all the pandemic/stress in my life. I got down to 255-260 by like middle of April. However, I plateaued there. I remain generally in the same range.

Calorie-wise getting protein has been hard for me since I generally don't know much about cooking. However, I have been working on that. Even with just cans of chicken chunks and tuna. I have been somewhere in the range of 1000-2200 calories in general.

What exercises do you recommend and what general toning weightlifting things do you recommend? My chest is generally the weakest part of my body weight lifting-wise. I can max out some machines, but I am generally pathetic in scale on chest working exercises (such as benching). I have been doing a push up challenge 3 times a week also that is supposed to help there.

My goals are

255 by May 31st
250 by June 15th
245 by July 1
242 by July 10th
235 by August 18th
230 by September 18th
225 by November 1st
220 by January 1st.

220 generally is where I begin to "look skinny". 205 is by far the lowest I would ever go because I begin to look too skinny at that point.

Anyone else lifting, losing weight, exercising? Come share!

I've been in a few close relationships with people with anxiety problems and the way she was acting sounds WAY too open for someone who actually has it. Also the way she was trickling in details and slowly pushing it further and further doesn't sound like a way a person who was being honest would act.

I'm sure part of what she told you was legit but then you either reacted to something she said or said something yourself that made her want to break it off so she kept pushing and pushing and pushing.

Hell just the way you reacted to gluten free/vegetarian may have given her a red flag to be honest. Like my girl is mostly gluten free and it's not by choice it's due to allergies. I feel like if early in our relationship I'd reacted to her explaining the things she can and can't eat with "well what can you eat then?" we probably wouldn't be together now. I suspect the Ovo-lacto thing was a test and you failed it miserably

Side note if you actually thought she was perfect for you that far into your post you need to up your standards a bit <_<
You do realize I was condensing a few weeks of texts, webchats, and phone calls into a short post right? lol

And obviously I left out a ton of things as well.

She also was gluten free due to her health as well.

Also, I think you are conflating what I was thinking in my mind with what I said to her as well. Though to be fair, I wasn't clear on that. The only thing I said actually in conversation was the Lando pansexual question part and asking her about if she is dedicated to one person once in a relationship.

well ok maybe this is more an uninformed thing than an actual jerk thing but you're hitting about every panphobic (or biphobic) stereotype in the book here (but at least you didn't ask her about sex with pans!)
Literally Lando was praised for being Pansexual due to his relationship with a droid.

https://www.cnet.com/news/star-wars-solo-lando-calrissian-is-pansexual-and-i-couldnt-be-happier/

This robosexuality criticism I was unaware of.

"That suggests the possibility that Lando is also attracted to L3-37 -- though this idea of robosexuality counting as part of the pansexual demographic doesn't sit well with everyone."

So, going off of the initial praise for him being pansexual based on his relationship with a droid, and pan usually mean every or all. I assumed stuff like the OS in Her, droids, etc. all fell into this. Yes. I don't think that is too much of a leap, and I literally just asked a question. So, how you can be an asshole for asking a question about something to better understand something is hmmmm?

She's prob an anti-vaxxer
She seemed awesome and perfect initially.

She then said she is a Vegetarian and Gluten Free. I inquired what she could eat then. She explained by telling me she is actually a Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian. I was like okay this girl is obviously a liberal to be using terms like that. Not a big deal. She just can't enjoy good meals apparently. That's fine.

Then she revealed she was a "hippie". Which consisted nothing of really being a hippie but seemed to just mean she was environmentally consciously friendly. Which didn't mean much to me.

Then she gave her 3 hard line dealbreaker stances.

No Racism.
No caring who loves who.
And no littering, no harming animals, and absolutely no excuses for wasting stuff of any kind.

These didn't really matter to me though the "no excuses for wasting stuff of any kind" really could have been looked at very drastically depending on what she meant regarding it. But, I mean, whatever. Not a big deal.

So, after that still seemed perfect!

Thennnnnnnnnnn... it got weird.

She then says she is Demisexual. And, explains this is on the asexual spectrum. That she is LGBT(a few more letters)+. That she specifically is the + part of this. I was like... ehhhh... but okay that just means you need to have a connection with someone before you bang. Not a big deal. I mean conservative girls just call this waiting for marriage. Not a big deal.

Thennnnnnnnn she says she is Pansexual. And, I am like, doesn't that mean you will sleep with anything and that is what they described Lando as in Solo because he was willing to sleep with males, females, aliens, droids, whatever. She told me I was being offensive that all things are people and should be identified as such. I was like okay... sorry for being offensive!

She says if you have a problem with this refer to my dealbreaker before about loving anyone! So, I was like, once you are with someone is that who you are with or you are always looking around. She said she is Monogamous Pansexual. And wanted me to confirm I was Monogamous Heterosexual lol.

Now, at this point, I am considering just bailing, but I am like, you know what... I don't really care what or who she has done in the past. That's her past. Who cares. She still seems awesome as a person, so fuck it we will go forward with a date and see.

Thennnnnnnnnnnnnnn... she reveals she has severe anxiety. She can't go to restaurants without anxiety. She can't be around crowds or a bunch of people or a lot of noise or she freaks out and cries and has to leave.

Now I am thinking... this girl maybe actually is on the autism spectrum somewhere. But, whatever. We won't judge her for it! It's a lot of red tape, baggage, and what not. However, we will still give her a chance!

Thennnnnnnnnnn, she like freaks out says dating is too stressful and giving her too much anxiety. Says she can't do this anymore. It's too much. Deletes all her social media (not blocked, like literally deleted), calls everything off and apologizes saying she can't handle the stress, and then I think she blocks my number (or just didn't respond to me after).

And, that was that!

I was just like this went from super awesome to super WTF? really really really quick!

I was going with 10% down.

But yeah there's PMI, insurance, taxes. So that's another 2k/mo if you have the worst property tax rate and got the most expensive insurance you could find. So fine, 6k/mo worst case, which needs 215k/yr. If you're paying 10k/mo you're getting ripped off harder than Corrik by his ex-wife.
Fair enough. However, it probably varies significantly from area to area on what those costs are. Either way, 4k was really low.

I don't understand how a 1 million house over 30 years is 4k/mo mortgage.

A simple calculator says with 0 down, 0 taxes, 0 insurance, 0 pmi, and a great 3.5% interest rate, the monthly mortgage alone is 4,490.45 a month.

Even if you put 20% down, assuming they have 200k laying around... It is 3,592.36 a month... again WITH 0 Insurance, 0 Taxes, 0 PMI (Which would be correct with 20% alrdy paid), and a good 3.5% interest rate over 30 years.

But, insuring a house and the taxes on a house that high and you might easily be well over 10k a month on your mortgage.

My house was only 125k with nothing down. But, yes, it has a pool and deck, a fire pit, a trampoline, a pavilion, a massive shed, a bricked off area with a flagpole, a side pad, and another cement pad also which I put firewood on.

Which is why I say... cutting grass is what I hate most in the world.

But, above-ground pools aren't very indicative of wealth.

All the heroes mirrored a Justice League character besides one (even the B team mostly mirrored later incarnations of it). The Green person which you would think would mirror Green Lantern clearly doesn't. My cousin said Kitty Pryde is the best mirror for the character despite the name and based on the powers. What do you all think? (And yes I know Kitty Pryde is Marvel)

Also, I can only see one direction the show goes from her so interested to see how they spread it out over 2 more seasons at least.

Dude, the key parts of that sentence are "if you qualify" and "free to you".

I won't respond again because you just want attention and argument at this point. You can obviously see you stated only in criminal defense cases. You can also obviously see that it states you could have free representation if certain qualifiers are met.

I mean, it's just laughable from my end to know that you are arguing against people who work in the literal court house I have first hand talked to. But, hey, I understand you aren't privy to that. I don't hold that against you. I do hold it against you that you cannot see what you yourself wrote and what something literally outright tells you though. Whatever.

Won't get another response from me regarding it.

Corrik, I went to the second link and looked at Child Custody and Divorce and both of them basically say that they won't represent you under how they can help. Lol They'll only do the most abrupt things like when abuse is involved to get a separation of a child, but they offer resources otherwise.
It depends on case-load. If they are backed up, they only do the most extreme cases, but yes, they can possibly represent you if your financial situation meets it, and their case-load allows for it. It's the same with child support cases also.

EDIT: It's not like it's crazy expensive to add one either. Average cost is $40-60k.
Is that the average cost for an in ground pool? I am assuming so based on the line above it. Because that sounds really high for an above ground pool.

Literally your first born child will be the best thing to ever happen in your life. The moment your child first enters the world will be a joy you will never be able to replicate on your own ever. And, the joys as they grow and the firsts continue will only get greater and greater. Congratulations, man.

That is well over the line.
Not a big deal. He is literally incapable of coherent thought. He just said something only happens in criminal cases, literally I have first source knowledge regarding it, and a website I have shown him literally stating it offers said services in limited situations for non-criminal cases. Yet, he still thinks he is right because why? Nobody knows.

Best to just ignore people who just live their lives trying to argue to get their kicks for the day.

I ain't worried about it. You ain't gotta either, bro.

You know what, Corrik? I don't wish you luck with your kid. I hope your ex gets full custody because for all the nightmare stories you've told us about her over the years I still have to consider the source they came from. I just can't imagine a person turning out better for having you to raise them.
Cool. Nobody cares.

Corrik, I'm just gonna be completely frank with you in a way I usually try to avoid.

You are not smarter than me. You are not smarter than at least half of the regular posters on this board. Stop finding a few buzzwords that you think support your argument because it never actually does. Your arguments are the type of BS I expect someone to follow with the damn 4Head emote but you're actually playing it straight.

Good luck with your kid. I do actually mean that.
You are right. I am not smarter than half of them. But I am smarter than you because I literally was at the courthouse and know what was said, and you don't have a clue and aren't smart enough to stop acting like you know. Just shut up. Seriously. Tired of you always trying to find an argument non-stop and arguing what you don't know and trying to circle into it when you are wrong.

Dude, the key parts of that sentence are "if you qualify" and "free to you".

"If you qualify" = Just because they'll represent you doesn't mean this sentence applies to you. In fact it's more likely it doesn't.

"Free to you" = They're going into this anticipating that someone is paying for it, just not you.
Welcome to gamefaqs where people will argue shit nonstop without even knowing what they are talking about. You are guessing because you don't want to admit you just were wrong initially because you acted mightier than thou with how you worded your initial statement. I get it, man. Not interested in arguing with someone regarding stuff. Literally at the court house they mentioned this option, and it is why I said she had that option.

That's only for public defenders regarding criminal proceedings. Even I know that.

Edit: Like theoretically maybe you can find someone who will take a divorce/custody case pro bono, but good luck with that.

Listen, kind of a pointless argument. They tell you at the courthouse resources are available to you if you can provide evidence of not having enough income.

Dude, low income assistance programs are not the same thing as getting a free lawyer.

Edit: In fact, the only way you probably end up paying nothing through this route is if they successfully sue the other party for your legal fees. And if they have a case for that, then it goes back to just paying for the other side's legal fees in the first place to look better.

Please don't do that thing where you argue against what is explicitly written in front of you... ugh!

I think you severely underestimate how much every judge hates someone who represents themselves. Like, it's a true nightmare and just makes any legal proceeding suck out loud. When we have to deal with anyone pro se at my firm, we just groan and pray they can find counsel immediately.

Yes, you're held to the same standards, but no, that doesn't mean any Judge wants to put up with it and the entire legal system is created with it in mind that you get a lawyer to make it go as smoothly as possible.

It's mostly to get the divorce (or in this case custody) proceedings over it with the idea in mind that with legal counsel they can get it over with quicker. This is also bearing in mind that a financial discrepancy would make it harder. If a woman is taking care of the kids, but the man is making a lot more money and will be shelling out plenty of money in child support, yeah. Pay for the lawyer to get the divorce done and over with. It's a costly process, and if things are intended to go smoothly then there's no issue in the person with the money paying for it. It also makes you look more favorable to the Judge who, if you're making loads of money with kids involved and you're not paying for all the legal fees for a divorce without a good reason, you look like kind of a dick forcing the poor, underpaid, overworked woman pay for her own fees.

Bearing in mind that Corrik had the idea that his ex would be able to handle this amicably and he didn't want to "punish her" by dragging her into a custody proceeding, paying for her lawyer wouldn't have been a bad idea. Since she has made it clear she wants to fuck Corrik over, no. Don't pay for the lawyer to fuck you over.

This idea of paying for the other party's lawyer does NOT extend past divorce/custody matters though, and you'll never see the idea floated around anywhere else.
If they are that poor, they can get free counsel though.
