Very cool, and what kind of game is it?

Do you plan to release it on steam or another platform when its done?

It's a Lovecraftian Horror game, primarily based around the narrative so a walking simulator. The story is very dark and foreboding, and the voice acting cast is stellar. Trailer;



It'll be for free if you own Crysis 1! I've been using the SDK and toolkit and made a total conversion out of the engine. It'll be my second project (My first one was done years ago) and once it's completed, my studio is going to buy a unity license and form an LLC and make something on Steam for our third title.

Maybe it's just me but #1's odd contrast between the color of the sky, the brightness of the scene, and the blinding sun gives it a somewhat unnatural quality. Fitting for the vision of an elder god.

That's the idea. Some kind of horribly distorted painting of this things perception of normalcy. The whole level is littered with stuff that's just not quite right.

The target is having an ethereal, eerie feel. This scene is a setting upon which an elder god is trying to show you visions, convince you to join his side (not really an option to say no) and showcases a lot of heavy, dark dialog from him speaking to you omnipotently.

Only things I like are Anthony Hopkins' character and Dolores. The looping timeline is just boring for the sake of entertainment, as are some inconsistencies with the time frame (if every day is like restarting a video games campaign mode, then how come it has tiers of difficulty or horrors miles and miles out from town? multiple days rides? wouldn't that be impossible in 24 hours?)

The show is super dry and super flat to me so far. Weird because I loved True Detective, another well praised moral/philosophical HBO series.

Doubt it. Matador is cutting down all fan videos like crazy with the exception of one or two. They've played about ten live acts this year and only one or two /songs/ from these acts are online.

Sadly. :( Like Clockwork was their best performances as a band cohesively and they also played the hell out of their older material. Now that the setlist is almost all of villains every night (which sucks, imho) it only goes as far back as Era but not even the best songs on it.

My friend last month reported a similar thing in NY. I'm not trying to keep fans from buying their tickets, but don't go in expecting the Like Clockwork tour. Something is off. I've seen them live five times since the Era tour. This is their worst show I've been to.

I've seen them five times, mind you. They're usually a top tier live act.

The mix was absolutely awful (extremely heavy on bass and drums, no clarity elsewhere) and Homme's mic cut off at least once a song. I was literally as front row as you could get, centered, so I definitely heard it all.

Homme was sober as a nun and was drinking water. All he had to say to the crowd was thank you, great crowd, and in the middle of the set, "This band has been through so much. So much negativity. All because of you." And then all the band members looked sullen. There was no cheering. He abruptly cut into no one knows after scratching at his head nervously. No energy was revived in the entire set. A few times he stopped to smoke a cigarette and dropped chinese fortune cookie advice about life, love, and moving on from things. Makes me think he has massive personal problems popping up.

Forgot the lyrics to the intro of VoC, entirely cut the outro of I appear missing and completely flubbed leg of lamb so hard that he just stopped singing. He did unscheduled guitar solo jams on a few songs and entirely lost the band, going out of sync with each other like five times last night. That never happens.

No energy, no synergy, lots of little mistakes, must have been one hell of an off night. :(

Yeah, her future self didn't understand what was going on when she got the phone number, but at that point her past self was realizing it already and made use of the number and quote to solve the problem. Her future self was even at a party celebrating how she saved everything, so she obviously had already used her time speech to stop it at that point but apparently forgot about it somehow?

Exactly. I could name 3-4 other examples of how this whole time thing didn't make any goddamn sense. I thought the message would be about how humanity needs to unify, and how we need a central language, how we need to trust and be patient. Instead the octopods wanted us to help travel 3k years in the future to help them, presumably in an intergalactic war or extinction event, which the entire movie ****ing ignores instead to focus on the fact she has (some underlying) level of premonition and also knew she had to have the insta-dead kid in order to have the powers in the first place?

The whole message and symbolism felt like a Trump speech. Tons of fluff that isn't saying anything at all, and keeps going off trail.

I love introspective movies and slow burns. Hell, I loved Sicario by this same director. I just feel like this movie is incredibly dry with no payoff at, this point, literally 3/4ths of the way done since I made this topic.

The whole point of the movie is that patience and communication are important.

I get that and I'm rooting for Amy's character to succeed. I think she won't. I can see this going to hell in a hand basket. It's just that it's really exaggerating the human nature of panic and fight or flight. By protesting against those so much, it simply makes for an unenjoyable narrative for over an hour. There are better ways to approach this.

Something occurs near the end that changes what you think you know so far. Still not amazing, but it makes it interesting and the emotional scenes more impactful.

Everyone has hyped up the twist and remarkably I haven't been spoiled what it is, though. I have a few ideas mostly in regards to the notions of howtime and emotions being prevalent in the script.

I'm 53 minutes in. I've seen Amy Adams nervous, Forest Whittaker impatient, goddamn floating ink bloats and whale noises for I believe this to be the exactly 50% mark of the story. It is really an odd movie, very low key, very subtle and occasionally has beautiful shots but good god this is going nowhere fast and the artificial tension from Forest (and his chain of command) and the world rioting isn't really doing anything for me with how it's portrayed.

Session #1: She went Wayfarer because ranged combat sounded less daunting to her. She enjoyed picking the character setup but was overwhelmed by all the skill choices and stats, so I boiled it down for her and she got less anxious. Figuring out the control scheme on gamepad took a better part of an hour, because if you say "hit x to choose stuff and O to exit" she'll pause and have to look at the controller to remember.

She enjoyed the exploration and graphics/environments but didn't care for the looting element, and is wholly overwhelmed by the inventory/skill/attributes/RP aspects. But she dug the combat alot, loved that it was turn based and tactical, and had fun suggesting ideas on how to kill even the first basic enemies.

Overall, good reaction from a non-gamer. She'll probably play more tomorrow and the reports will continue.

We're going to try Divinity: Original Sin since I apparently have the enhanced edition and I decked it out with some balanced and graphics mods. I have two controllers, so it'll happen. However, her video game experience died and ended with super mario 64 and donkey kong country as she's not a gamer at all. It'll be interested to report how this goes, and for the fun of it, I'm gonna journal the experience here. We'll be playing the first time tonight.

Sadly yeah, you guys are all right. Nothing RP heavy in this niche. She wants to do something relaxed and roleplay a character, but divinity has turn based combat and she won't feel stressed to fight or make her moves etc when she doesn't know the button layout. I think it'll be survivable.

Four. Oh and I'm 25.

#1: Young teenage relationship, somehow lasted seven months. I broke up with her for being needy and immature.

#2: Height of hormonal uselessness, had a long distance one. She was very cute. We met up a few times, too shy to do anything physical, she broke up with me.

#3***: Best friend of three years, virtually around each other and dating already daily. We got slam drunk and boned and she wrote me out of her life because she hated herself for making it happen that way to me, and not in the way "she planned". Hurt the feels. Still does.

#3: Shy/timid video game nerd who was a chub and very lazy, rarely held down a job. Only lasted a few months before I broke it off.

#4: Current relationship for four years. Amazing work ethic, 4.0 GPA, loves all my hobbies, we have lived together this whole time. Wonderful woman, will probably wife.

Spoilers abound for surprise characters that show up, but no major spoilers below.

The exact moment that Elektra is introduced I feel like the season spins wildly out of control once it loses focus on Daredevil and focuses, instead, on her character + "The War" + relationship nonsense and doubling back (and down) on Nelson/Murdock being put in the trash. Why retread old water? Why take the focus off the obviously stellar breakout character of season 2?

Punisher is absolutely incredible and even has more scenes to shine in later on that everyone knows about, but it really slipped between gears and stalled on me.

RimWorld was such a letdown, my god.

I have about 35-40 quality of life mods on top of it. It's decent, don't get me wrong, but it's so over hyped. The combat is awful, the base management is pretty lifeless and interacting with the world is at best pointless and at worst clumsy and unintuitive.

I finished Jessica Jones and I felt like it was about seven episodes too long for what the story arc wound up concluding as, and really took its time to extend the inevitable. Kilgrave was great at times, terrible at others, but the awful fight scenes and extended Luke Cage relationship and mountains of sex scenes made it seem stale to me.

I'm about eight episodes into Daredevil S1. All the fight scenes are low lit and extremely hard to see what's going on, but they're impressive. Standout to me was the hallway fight in E2 which I heard everyone says is the best fight in the show. Fisk is an impressive villain, he's written like a tossaway from the True Detective script. Some of the gang/mob stuff and the lawyer stuff (especially Foggy) is boring AF to me though.

Haven't seen Luke Cage or Iron Fist. Thoughts on those too CE?

Respect is earned, not demanded or suggested. Do you even work behind the bar? Are you the barback or even a bartender? Unless you have significant restauraunt experience and ownership, you're not getting the wheel to a bar. There are infinite more expenses than you'd think in managing and operating one and meeting customer demand isn't all about time management, and bartenders aren't exactly the kind of men and women you can boss around and tell what to do.

The rep looked at my phone when I was in there the other week and he said something was wrong with my camera, so I might be having a personal problem with it. He noticed a hairline fracture in the lens. Again, ymmv with this recommendation post. I'm just looking for feedback on which one to upgrade to -- it has to be one. The s8 is 20 more a month than the S7.

NT really. I despise this S6. It's clunky, all glass, has a mediocre camera and (personal issues) my headphone jack and charging port both stripped from the last two years and barely hold anything inside them. 16gb also kinda sucks.

Thoughts CE? S7 plain or S8 for my upgrade?

Honestly? I think you're 100% right. I can't seem to find graphics designers absolutely anywhere, and from what I've read, sprites are a royal pain in the ass to make and set up a sheet and animations for, requiring total redraws rather than limb manipulation. Ironically 3D seems easier on the artist.

I think you are not getting responses for a few reasons.

first: this isn't a place known for finding work.

Second: You haven't shown anything but an idea, you didn't give a studio name or previous work (You said you made "AAA mods" but not what mods)

Third: you didn't even say anything about gameplay or even give a genere, it could be a metroidvania, FPS, PRG, or stealth game equally likely with just a story idea, that is if you even have an idea about what the gameplay is supposed to be which if you don't could point to a low chance of getting a game out.

First: I've found plenty of VA talent on here before. CE showcases some cool stuff from time to time. So why not try?

Second: Dark Craft Studios. We primarily make Lovecraftian horror/adventure games, currently at 94/100 and 92/100 respectively for Triptych and Worry of Newport. Plenty of talent from those dev cycles is returning to make an actual release.

Third: Right now we're setting up the modules for a linear campaign with a hub based center (your ship) with customization, crew, and resource management elements. We've got it pretty well designed in Unity. Combat will be real time and visceral, with one or two shot kills from both directions and we're still tuning that up to have the "weight" we're looking for. It'll basically be an Adventure but with a heavy focus on story quality and unique level design. Some won't have combat, and just be exploration + story exposition, others still a friendly colony could be under attack in a procedural generation based mission.

Hello again CE, a select few of you might know I'm a roaming/mostly lurking game developer on here. I've released two AAA conversion mods to high acclaim (not gonna plug them, but feel free to ask if you're curious.) that has established my footing as a developer/designer, writer, and project manager. I currently have a legal studio under my belt and we're plugging away 200 man hours a week to try and make a Steam release happen.

Exciting, huh? I know this dream and this topic can be made by anybody with some stock assets and Early Access. But we're not going that route at all. If it releases it'll be complete and polished. We have been developers for seven years, and for us, it's time to get out of the shadows. Any who, short and skinny story synopsis. It's been trademarked and routed under our logo, so no smart ideas, dinklebergs.

Contact Lost. Humanity becomes a Type II civilization and colonizes or creates orbiters on everything in the solar system up to Pluto. After a few years of prosperity, out of nowhere, Pluto goes dark. Then Neptune. Then Saturn. No communications open, no ships returning from their routes. Something is invading one planet at a time. The human fleet organizes around Mars, and instead of any intruder, a blaring frequency hits and everyone goes insane -- kills each other, themselves, jump out airlocks, bomb the planet. Chaos. A splinter of escapees organize and try to figure what's going on, which is obviously a Lovecraftian cosmic horror with a bootstrap paradox for good measure. You'll see.

Time is ticking in the story until its projected to reach Earth, and the campaign is centralized around visiting the lost planets and solving the mystery while combating insane human survivors and or malfunctioning AI who, too, are affected.
