In the case of custom designs, it should be up to the bakery making it. Refusing service outright is discrimination, but no one should also be forced to design something they dont want to. I think their beliefs are bigoted and they are shit people for it, but they didnt have to make that cake. If someone came in and asked for a penis shaped cake for a bachelorette party and the bakery refused, should that also be discrimination?

I was chatting with a financial planner about this, and its not just ignorant poor people who fall into credit card debt. He had clients who were professionals - lawyers, doctors, etc - who had enormous credit cad debt from frivolous spending. The only difference really is that they were able to justify to themselves even greater sums of debt.

Sounds like some people have incredibly poor impulse control, and the same mindset that gets them hooked on drugs also gets them hooked on CC spending.
My dad started his own business back in late 90s. He was making $150-200k a year. And his credit card was always maxed out. He would spend his money on the dumbest shit all the time. Mostly on my brother. New mustang convertible for him, apartment downtown, clothing, allowance, etc. He would give my mom extra in alimony and child support which was nice of him, but my mom also is a spender and just maxed out her cards. She also has a gambling problem. I dont really know where all that extra money went.

After 9-11, my dads business tanked and he stupidly just threw so much money at it until he had to declare bankruptcy. Then he bought himself $15k in furniture, on credit cards, that he then abandoned with my brother to fly off and live in another province with his wife. My mom never bothered to get a job because she just wanted to milk him dry. Both my parents now have nothing in their retirement but credit card debt.

For the longest time I completely avoided credit cards. I saw them as this gateway into the abyss. But I learned to be careful about it. If my husband and I wanted to, we could use up about $100k on just credit cards alone. But we only put our monthly purchases and pay off the balance every time. Then we stay at nice hotels like the Ritz-Carlton for free. Take that fucking credit lenders.

Celsius makes the most sense. 0 = freezing, 100 = boiling

Fahrenheit is dumb. Ive lived in the US now for 8 years and I still prefer Celsius. I also miss the metric system in general.

Credit card means free rewards and good credit score, if used correctly. Ive stayed at 5 star hotels with mine for free. We just pay off the statement balance every month. But some people are really bad with money and should not own them. Most of my family members (my mom, dad, brother and sister) have maxed out cards where they are stuck paying endless interest on. If someone only uses debit cards, then I tend to think they lack discipline or know they are bad with money.

You could have just ask instead of being rude and assuming you know people.

We were in my studio while I was inking a sample page for an upcoming independent comic and I was trying to show her what I'd worked on, while she was trying to tell me about finally saying no to talking to her drug addict half-brother.

She got mad because I glossed over her saying that, but tbf I was telling her about the comic and showing her and she interrupted in the middle of it to tell me that.
Yup, you seem overly dramatic. Sounds like you were just butthurt she interrupted you. Theres just no need to have a big talk about needing friends because she doesnt have the exact interests you do, unless she is specifically against that. And then you have other issues to worry about.

Couples tend not to have every single interest in common. Having other friends is natural. The fact that you felt the need to make it an issue because she interrupted you talking to tell you about something important to her says a lot tbh. I also think shes overly sensitive as well btw. I cant imagine getting upset because my husband wanted to make friends with people who have a love for war movies, for example. But given how you said you explained it poorly, I do wonder how you went about it and what you said exactly.

You both kinda sound like overly sensitive people.

Banana bread is pretty easy (the trick for moist banana bread is sour cream). My go to for fast and easy baking though is shortbread cookies.

You just need:
2 cups flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter, softened
a teaspoon of vanilla

Mix it all together, form into balls and put them in a pan thats greased and floured. Flatten them with your palms. Bake 350F for 15-17 minutes. They arent too sweet and are delicious with coffee.

if you want to get into the math, my rent is currently $800 a month....the condo would cost $2.5k a month. the condo is one block over from my apartment. i believe the math still favors the condo long term, but ouch...that's a lot more money

and before anyone asks, yes i can afford that
Thats freaking cheap rent. Honestly, Id take my time and save for a house over a condo for that much of a price difference. My husband and I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 5 years while saving. We were very tempted to upgrade to 2 bedrooms and almost signed on a least but just opted to save instead. It was worth the wait. The HOA fees here are ridiculous for condos ($300-400)

Worth buying over renting, though a house is still better. But you can always rent out your condo when you are ready to buy a house. My brother did this with his condo. It just pays for itself at this point.

My husband just pretends to go along with what they want then puts them on hold forever. They cant hang up until you do. He had one for an hour on hold. He ended up cussing my husband out and waiting for my husband to hang up, but he wouldnt and it was hilarious. The scammer ended up hanging up but you could tell he was furious.

I havent been in a cubicle for years. I had one when I started off in my company but then I got an office that I share with a coworker. Our company is casual dress. Before covid, and tshirts were fine. Some people came in shorts and flip flops.

I love my office and my coworker so thats awesome too. We had our stock of tequila, candy, cookies and ramen lol. Always had music playing too. We had a TV and wanted to use it to stream shows but our VP was next door half the week and would drop in randomly to say hi.

Just got a check for close to $400. I guess because my husband was unemployed for a half of 2018. I didnt really think about it because I thought we still made more jointly. Free $1000 this month with that and the settlement check I got.

Still need to decide what buy.

Generally buy a slew of fruits and vegetables (bananas, oranges, maybe mangoes, and then onions, tomatoes, cilantro, lettuce, cucumbers, maybe potatoes), some chicken, some beef/steaks, coffee, cereal, milk, yogurt, orange juice, pasta, sauce, maybe a frozen pizza or two, bread, cheese, whatever else strikes the fancy or needs to be replenished like honey, olive oil, condiments, etc.
Yup same here. I tend to get some higher end stuff also. Ribeyes, filets, scallops, fish, aged parmesan and gruyere cheeses, sometimes a rack of lamb here and there.
