I have not terraformed at all. I think I need to start with moving all the villagers houses somewhat close together, but I do want them to have yards
In the beginning, I made a village but put everyone together with no yards. I just wanted to grab recipes easily. Then I saw other islands and was like fuck, I wish I gave them yards. Moving one house at a time was a nightmare, because you cant just move one house a few spaces over. It will give you an error that theres a house in your way. Like fucking yes there is, I want to move it mofo.

I ended up having to move all my houses out the village one at a time, then place them back one at a time. Freaking nightmare.

I didnt get to say goodbye before my uncle passed away. He was like a dad to me.

He had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. A few weeks ago, my cousin messaged us one night to say he had a few days left if we wanted to see him. Very next day, we were supposed to be there at noon, but my husband got pulled into a big meeting at 1 and we pushed it to 2:30. To be fair my cousin said days so we thought it would be ok.

My biggest regret is that I should have gone without him. Around 1pm my mom texting me that we needed to come asap, so I told my husband to cancel his meeting and we hurried over. But he passed before we could make it in time. My mom opened the door for us and shook her head, and my uncle was gone. Found him in his favorite chair. If we got there at noon as planned, I would have at least been able to say goodbye and its been haunting me.

I prefer butter over oil for mushrooms. They are little sponges as mentioned. Butter fries them better and tastes better than oil. And as someone else posted, dont over stir. When theyre looking nice and ready, I love to deglaze the pan with some white wine, cook it down and stir in some cream and parmesan for a quick mushroom sauce.

Not PTSD. From what he says, they dont train you to de-escalate things. They train you to kill. It can be a reflex to just kill a person coming at you vs trying to calm them down. Often times bad cops have military backgrounds.

Yup, its a constant state of mind for him. Perpetual victimhood. He almost didnt come to my wedding because he wrote some wacky book no one wanted to read about religion and his crazy conspiracies. And I actually did read it to try and have him feel some support. Then he asked me for feedback and I tried giving him constructive criticism (he kept bugging me to). Bad idea on my part. He went nuts and stopped talking to me for a couple of months and almost didnt show up. I was so terrible for saying anything at all that could be criticism. I was ok with it. My brother was going to walk me down the aisle. Then my brother convinced him to come, literally the day before. Only I had to pay for his ticket. He spent my wedding day promoting his book to all my guests. His wedding gift to us was an already opened bottle of whiskey he said he didnt like. I kept trying to keep a relationship for years after that. But then I realized it was a lost cause eventually.

Damn :/. My dad was more of the silent treatment type. When my sisters would get pregnant, he'd just act like they didn't exist anymore. I don't know which is worse. I guess the silent treatment would be easier to repair cause it doesn't leave you with specific tense moments to bring up and get angry at. Dads really be dropping the ball. Moms can too, but it's definitely disproportionate.
My dad would yell and make a scene and then stop talking to us until we begged his forgiveness and took all the blame. Havent talked to him since November because Im not doing that anymore. Its just not worth it.

My dad is the biggest Karen. Growing up with him was embarrassing. He chewed out every single person in the service industry over the most minor of things. Ill never forget how he made us all leave a Pizza Hut while dramatically yelling at staff because it was taking too long for our food to come out. Or when he yelled at a cashier and accused her of racism because she told him he had too much stuff in his cart for the express lane. After his company tanked years ago, he tried to take sales and cs jobs and he couldnt hold them because he cant help but lecture every customer over shit, or accuse people of racism constantly.

Theres no reason to ever share you were fired in an interview. Generally when they do a reference check with previous employers, its just to verify if you were employed within the dates you gave them.

It isnt just based on my trips. Ive heard several Europeans call black people the n word and literally throw up nazi signs. I went to school with many Europeans. They will act normal around folk and then talk shit behind their backs.

I dont think that means theres no problem in America or that it should be ignored. It just makes me roll my eyes when other countries are pointing at America and going omg look how messed up they are when they have similar issues and ignore them.

Racism isnt just an American problem. As terrible as it is, I admire that Americans can speak up about things and fight for change. Canada has a big racism problem but were a passive people so no one really speaks up. In Europe, they have huge problems with fans abusing their black soccer players. Making monkey noises at them and throwing bananas. And nothing is done about it at all. If it happened in American football, it wouldnt be tolerated.

And yes, Italians, French and Spaniards are some of the most racist people I have ever met. Ive met several and they made their distaste of brown and black people very clear. One Italian guy I met in a club asked me my ethnicity and when I told him it was middle eastern, he acted super sad and said it was like a flower growing out of a pot of dirt.
