That's what they would say now. But you have to remember that the decision to sponsor her and give her the artificial heart to save her from her heart disease was made when she was only 7 years old, when all the Alan Institute saw of her was her incredible marksmanship and her nearly superhuman ability to dodge bullets. She was winning mock gunfights against people much older than her despite being so young, and that talent made her a perfect candidate to be a trained killer in the eyes of the Institute.

If the Institute is ever wrong about a talent, which it seems in-universe like they rarely are, they simply cut their support and move on. In most cases, it's not that big of a deal. But for Chisato, it means her death because she depends on the artificial heart that the Institute provided for her.

So the Lycoris are a secret organzation as well as the boys version. Some mother fucker who I think did tests on kids decided to basically put all the work of these secret organizations to shreds cause his "prize" gal decides NOT to murder everyone? And he is.... sad about that? Considering she is by far the best Lycoris, WTF is your problem?

The situation between Chisato and Mr. Yoshimatsu is... complicated, to say the least. It seems like you've missed a few details along the way too.

Mr. Yoshi works for the Alan Institute, who "sponsors" people with special talents to achieve those talents. They don't do "testing" on these Alan Children, they only provide support to develop the talents they see in them. Chisato was determined to have a "talent" for killing, so Mr. Yoshi and the Institute sponsored her for the specific reason of helping her live up to that talent of killing, and Mika helped her become a Lycoris primarily to facilitate more chances for her to kill. Her artificial heart that the Institute developed to help her survive her heart disease was conditional on her living up to that talent, and if she doesn't, the Institute will pull their support and she'll die without any means to recharge or replace her artificial heart.

Normally, sponsors like Mr. Yoshi are forbidden from interfering in these situations. But he thinks of Chisato as his and Mika's precious daughter, and he wants her to live happily. He's spent the entire series orchestrating ways to try and force her to forego her pacifist ways and kill someone, desperate enough to break the Institute's rules about interfering with an Alan Child and even desperate enough to work with unstable terrorists like Majima in the process. All he has to do is get Chisato to kill once to prove to the Institute that she can live up to that talent, and the Institute will continue to support her life at least for a while longer.

His methods are twisted and misguided, but he's doing all of it for the sake of Chisato's life, which makes him a really interesting villain in my eyes.

Yep, I'm talking about Rose of Versailles. That show was a big inspiration for a lot of shoujo anime, especially Revolutionary Girl Utena in particular, and then Utena served as a big inspiration for Revue Starlight further down the line. Now those images (and a few others) were datamined in the latest update to the Revue Starlight ReLive mobile game, which seems to indicate a Rose of Versailles collab coming to the game.

The show is 40 episodes, which isn't too terribly long. I know it's not on Crunchyroll or HiDive, but I'm going to look into if there's a different place to legally stream it. I don't want to resort to "other means" unless there's no legal option available.

Our clan in PriConne was doing pretty decently in the Clan Battle based on what I saw before it ended. We were doing about 100 spots better than last month despite 2 less people in our clan actually participating this month compared to last month. I also kicked some inactive members whose support characters were too low level to be useful anymore.

Yes, there are some ecchi/fanservice anime and gacha games that have designs that are quite lewd. Usually not quite as lewd as the ones in this topic, but sometimes they do. Kill La Kill, Senran Kagura, Valkyrie Drive, Azur Lane, and Fate Grand Order come to mind.

But I post fanart and not official stuff, and fanart tends to exaggerate when it comes to body types and having more revealing clothing.

The full-length version of that cover song was finally released on D4DJ's newest cover album a couple of days ago. No one's posted it to YouTube yet, but I downloaded it and listened to it, and it's awesome. Still can't believe Rondo went so hard with that song.

I'm already glad I pulled for Kaya in PriConne. I mentioned her being an "overflow specialist" for CB (where she's great for times where you can inflict the final blow on a boss and your remaining time left overflows to the next one) because of how her UB works, and that situation has come up for me on both days of this month's CB so far. On the first day, I was so excited to try her out when I saw the situation was right that I actually forgot to set a support unit for that battle (oops!) and went in with only four characters, but on the second day I set my support character correctly and ended up doing the most damage I've ever done in a single CB attempt by far: 4.37 million to finish one boss, 2.47 million in the overflow time to the next one, for a total of 6.84 million damage.

I just set Kaya as my CB support character if anyone else in our clan is in a similar "overflow" situation with a boss on low health and wants to take advantage. I know a few of you are also here, can't remember how many though.

I don't think so. Most of the standalone AU Gundam series do unique stuff that doesn't apply to the main UC timeline. I haven't seen any of the UC series, but I'm pretty sure Amuro and Char survive for quite a while in that timeline, which would indicate that what you're talking about doesn't apply.

I did too, but I was only counting the "main" anime that were actually adapting (at least loosely) the story of the games and not spin-offs like that. Girls Frontline's Healing Chapter and Madness Chapter chibi shorts were hilarious too.

If I were to rank all of the "gacha game adaptation" anime I've watched (regardless of whether I've played the game they're adapting or not):

Princess Connect ReDive > Magia Record > Last Period > Hortensia Saga > Girls' Frontline > Cinderella Nine > Azur Lane

I also have Granblue Fantasy's anime on my plan-to-watch list. Note that this is not counting original anime that set up future gacha games, like BanG Dream, Revue Starlight, Takt Op Destiny, etc., because I consider those to be a completely different category.

Also, speaking of anniversaries: Revue Starlight ReLive hit 4 years in JP and (perhaps more shockingly) 3.5 years in global this week. Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy that it's still around. I'm just surprised that such a niche game has survived so long.

I dropped Arknights after a week because the gameplay felt like a huge chore, but I liked the characters and world-building a lot, so I've been really exciting to see the anime. Hopefully its anime is better than the mediocre attempts that Azur Lane and Girls Frontline made with theirs.

Probably not. I already talked about it last week how Sunrise is most likely handling the dub themselves and that dub probably won't start until the subbed version is like a whole cour in. If you want to wait that long for the dub, then that's up to you.

I know I waited that long for the RWBY Ice Queendom dub (which has been pretty good so far).

A bit of a melancholy moment for me today. Netflix released the newest batch of Pokemon Journeys episodes today, and I decided to watch a couple of episodes before I went to bed. The third episode of this batch turned out to be the very last new anime episode in which we'll ever get to hear the voice of the late Billy Kametz, who tragically passed away from colon cancer in June of this year. He voiced Professor Cerise's assistant Ren, who was the focal character in this episode, and this episode was the last episode of any anime that he had recorded voice work for that had not yet been released yet. Netflix was even kind enough to include an "In Memory of Billy Kametz" end card at the end of the episode before the credits rolled.

Still can't believe he was taken from us so soon. RIP.

From what I've heard, she's a good physical attacker with the gimmick that the first use of her UB in a wave is ridiculously strong but then the subsequent uses in the same wave are weaker. I'm not sure how her total damage output over a full 1:30 battle compares to the likes of other physical attackers like Christina or Muimi (someone who's played JP can probably answer that) but the gimmick on her UB makes her super useful for times when you can inflict the final blow on a CB boss with low health and then use the remaining time left on the next one. That way, you'll essentially get her boosted "first-time" UB twice in one go.

I'm mostly just pulling for her because she's a cute dragon girl though.

Good call. I've heard that she's apparently the next meta-breaking "you absolutely need this character" character like Summer Saren and Neneka were, and she's definitely worth saving for if you can only afford one spark.

Thankfully, I have a massive amount of gems saved up, so I can afford to pull both of them even if I need to spark both.
